Clever and great fun STONEWALL & RIOT is better than Japanese anime. Joe Phillips is a talented artist who draws cute characters. He has not only drawn the film (no mean task considering how many gels are needed for a cartoon) but has written it, directed it, and voices the character of Stonewall. Although his earlier HOUSE OF MORECOCK was neat, STONEWALL & RIOT is an impressive leap forward. Witty and great fun, it is the ultimate party tape!

Stonewall and Riot from artist Joe Phillips is a mere novelty item at best, that features a colorful, and I mean colorful, cast of characters, loosely based around a minimal storyline. I was hoping for the more traditional animation, but here Joe delves into the 3-D world with mixed results. Granted, hes got the bodies, cocks, and pelvic thrusts down, he just needs to work a bit more on the character development and story and get away from some of the corny comedic elements and sound effects. The cityscapes, vehicles, and characters are well done and the whole idea is imaginative. I know this isnt Pixar by any means, but it had so much more potential. The film begins with a brief synopsis of the Stonewall Riots, make sure you pause it otherwise you wont be able to read the whole thing, and then were greeted by a villain speaking on safe sex. Were then whisked away to a penis shaped, actually there are a lot of penis shaped things, lair where Dr. Von Fucking Cock is testing out his Orgasmarator on his assistant, a muscular, hung blond strapped to a table.
