Review brief: I've often stated that as a rule I don't like virtual sex DVDs. Chasing Stacy is certainly the exception to that rule. It's much more than just another virtual sex title. It is the new yardstick by which all future virtual sex titles will be measured. Chasing Stacy contains three full sex scenes, a well-done strip tease and a masturbation scene in addition to three interactive segments. It's also the most impressive use of DVD technology I have seen yet from any studio, adult or mainstream. Chasing Stacy is broken down into 5 major sections from the opening menu. Chasing Stacy: 'Chasing Stacy' is the first interactive segment where you get a simulated glimpse of a day in the life of Stacy Valentine. At various points in the 'chase' you have the option of asking her out on a date. If you ask her out at the right time she'll say yes and you are rewarded, moving on the 'Virtual Date' section. I felt a bit like Dirk the Daring (of Dragon's Lair fame) as the chase commenced.

Review brief: Wow, what a DVD. Flashpoint may be the best all-around adult title that I have seen. It has great looking performers, great sex scenes, a half-decent plot and Jenna Jameson. What else could you ask for? Flashpoint is about a fire station full of gorgeous, horny firefighters. It's like the hottest porn stars in the industry are firefighters in their day jobs. Brad Armstrong has created a title that will be high on most people's favorite porn list. I really liked the alternate audio track feature of Flashpoint. You can listen to the director's commentary throughout the movie. It provides an interesting perspective on the making of the movie and some of the challenges involved. I recommend you watch this one straight through once before checking the director's commentary out. You'll have a greater appreciation for the planning, production and basic hard work that went into making this DVD. I could go through the play-by-play details on this one (I never do so why start now) but I won't ruin it. It's really worth picking up to see for yourself.

Review brief: Electric Sex has the best extras of any adult DVD that I have seen. The behind the scenes stuff shows the creation and editing process for some of the special effects in the movie. The special effects rival those of many mainstream Hollywood titles. I was very impressed. Electric Sex has been filmed, mastered and edited better than most DVDs out there. You won't be disappointed in the quality of the video and audio in this one. I wish I could say the same for the sex scenes. They couldn't keep my interest for more than a few minutes. The film's star, Jewel De'Nyle, looks a bit scary throughout most of the movie. I suspect that was the intent. I'm not into scenes with patent leather body suits, lipstick lesbians with translucent dildos, bondage gear and the like. I buzzed through some of this stuff in x30 mode and before I knew it the movie was over. I didn't catch a plot if there was one. I moved on to the extras and didn't fast forward once.

Review brief: Cream On seemed like a good concept for a spoof. The inspiration for this title was the original HBO series Dream On. It was a hilarious series about a guy that grew up in front of television set and has ironic flashbacks to classic moments in television. A porn version of it could have been great. Cream On does have a few oddly placed viedo clips like the original series however they don't really seem to fit in and they certainly aren't funny. They are more of a distraction than anything. The cover of Cream On features Lexus in an interesting pose perched atop a TV set. I was expecting her to be the main character. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Heather Hunter is actually the featured performer. This is the first DVD title I have seen with Heather and certainly won't be the last. She is now one of my favorite Vivid girls. Heather plays the part of an executive for a magazine publisher. Lexus, Heather's boss, orders her to start including more sex in the magazine because sex sells.

Review brief: Search for the Snow Leopard is one of the best adult DVDs that I have seen. It's got great looking performers, decent acting, wonderful camera work and a real plot. Snow Leopard features Asia Carrera on a quest to find a rare and endangered species. Asia is awarded a research grant which takes her away to a ficticious land in search of the elusive creature. This may be the best that I have seen Asia. She looks great and the plot gives her the oppurtunity to act a bit as well. The opening scene has Asia waking from a nightmare of her father's quest for the snow leopard. (Her father never returned form his travels.) She walks out on the balcony into the night air under a star-lit sky to think and try to relax. Her husband wakes up and joins her on the balcony. What follows is an amazing blow job scene. Asia meets an arrogant James Bonn at the grant awards ceremony. (James thinks that he is going to win and is quite cocky about it.) Ashton Moore is introduced in this scene as a social sciences professor of sorts.

Review brief: My Playmate is one of the many virtual sex simulators being released on DVD. It's one of the better ones that I have seen. My Playmate features Jewel De'Nyle as your on-screen play toy who is happy to tease you or please you in just about any way you would like with just a few clicks of your DVD player's remote control. Jewel looks great in My Playmate, much better than any of her other work. She does a great job of playing both naughty and nice, which are the modes that you can choose to view each scene in. Peter North is your surrogate penis as you have your way with Jewel. There are two TRUE angles through all of the sex scenes. You can watch from a first person perspective or from an angle in which you are looking at Jewel as she talks to you throughout the scene. The audio and video quality is very good throughout. A feature of this title that I found somewhat puzzling is the "cum on cue" action. You get to decide when Peter has had enough and it's time to blow his virtual load.

Review brief: North Pole #5 is the latest release in Peter North's series of all-sex movies. It's one of the best I have seen yet. North Pole #5 features a series of sex scenes with some of the hottest new stars on the porn scene. It's all slot and no plot. A couple of the scenes feature Peter and his "skills" with Jewel De'Nyle and Tina Thomas. (Jewel doesn't look nearly as good in #5 as she does in My Virtual Playmate.) Tina Thomas is hot. She and Peter are the final scene and it's well worth the wait.

Review brief: Kelly the Coed is one of the more popular recent DVD releases. It's been on the best seller list at DivaDee for quite some time. I was curious and decided to pick up a copy. There's plenty of reasons that Kelley is so popular. She's every college frat boy's dream. A little spinner with loose morals, a shortage of brains cells, has never played "quarters" and is hungry for whatever action you can feed her. Allysin Chains plays Kelley, a horny little coed with more interest in partying than her classes. The dialog between Kelley and her her friends/partners is self-mocking (or just plain dumb) throughout the movie. At one point just after Kelly has just been DP'ed in the previous scene, she says "that girl is such a slut" in reference to Annabell Chong being treated like a cum dumpster by a couple of frat boys. I have to admit that I watched most of this one in x8 forward mode. The sex scenes are good. The performers are OK, the plot average. The highlight of Kelley is it's behind the scenes section of the extras.

Review brief: Cost of Lust is a pleasant change of pace from the typical American porn title. Cost of Lust is a European import mastered and distributed by Wicked Pictures. It features French hottie Laure Sinclair. The cover of the DVD pictures Laure looking like a supermodel. She looks just as good in the movie. The plot in cost of lust is fairly basic and sometimes comical. Laure catches her husband cheating on her and runs off to overcome her sorrows. She meets up with a gorgeous witch doctor that leads her down a path of interesting sexual encounters. The sex in Cost of Lust is very realistic. The performers are natural and attractive. (A few of the guys are butt-ugly but the gals are hot.) The dialog is pretty funny at times in addition to being dubbed (unless you want to listen to the French audio track). The extras are almost non-existant. A few still images along with bios on the performers. Not much in comparison with the extras on Flashpoint, another great title from Wicked.

Review brief: If you like your porn with a decent plot, attractive performers, silly New Jersey accents and a sense of self-mockery then you will like this one. The extras on Mobster's Wife are better than the average porno. There are moments in the "making of" that are hilarious. There are also scenes unintentioanlly included in the "making of" that didn't make it past the final cut for the DVD. The multiple angles are typical Vivid. (15 minutes of footage compressed into 5 minutes over three angles.) The sex scenes in Mobster's are above average. This one is a must-have if you are a Lexus fan. This is one of her better DVDs. She actually seems to enjoy the sex at times.

Review brief: Debbie 99 is the first adult title I ever watched on DVD. At the time I was very impressed. After seeing several dozen more my opinion of Debbie 99 has slipped a bit. The cover is what really caught my attention with this one. Lexus is gorgeous on the cover and looks just as good in the movie. The rest of the cast is fairly typical in looks. This movie was obviously filmed at the same time as Debbie Does Dallas - The Next Generation. The performers are essentially the same. The scenery and locations are the same. The transfer quality is very high. The multiple angles are typical Vivid, almost worthless. The sex in Debbie 99 is mediocre. There are a few decent scenes but you'll have a hard time watching this one all the way through.
