Wolverine XXX: An Axel Braun Parody Review

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there are a few background noises that seem deliberate in the final scene that end up being fairly annoying. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and looks good. It can be a bit dark at times, but the picture is clear and there's nice care towards the lighting.

Watermark Warning: Wolverine XXX has the usual Vivid watermark in the lower right corner. It's small, fairly tasteful (if a watermark can be such a thing), and stays stationary making it easy to put out of mind. Although I can't say that I like to see watermarks, if a company feels that's what they have to do in order to protect their product I hope they can keep them as tasteful as Vivid does here.

The Movie: When Nick Fury sends Domino after Sabertooth, she doesn't think she can take him on her own and enlists Wolverine to help her. As they track down Wolverine's nemesis and journey through Wolverine's flashbacks, they're joined by plenty of other familiar faces from Marvel comics.

When Aiden (Domino) needs help to go after Sabertooth, Tommy (Wolverine) isn't too willing to help thinking he's not ready. She knows with her luck she can change his mind, and kisses him before dropping down to suck and stroke his cock. Aiden lets Tommy fuck her from behind with a little more oral action mixed in. She gives Tommy a kiss before riding him in each of the cowgirls. They also spoon before he pulls out and pops on her bald beaver.

Handmaiden Charmane does what she can to keep Asa's (Mariko) mind off Logan's upcoming battle with her father. Wolverine XXX is one of Axel Braun's best Marvel Comics parodies. Lately quite a few of his parodies seem overly choppy with all of the focus going towards the costumes and barely any attention going towards the story. This one is also a bit choppy, but is connected enough that more than anything it feels like a series of webisodes or like you're going from comic book to comic book instead of the entire movie seeming like one comic book. Yes there's the cliffhanger ending again, which I 'd like to see end to give the movie a more cohesive feeling (think graphic novel or story arc), but it works much better here for some reason. As always there's no shortage of effort towards the technical aspects and costumes, and in a few cases they look a lot better than what one sees in some of the recent comic book movies. The sex is also nicely done, and there's a nice mix of sex acts with a little anal and lesbian action showing up as well as a few facials. Andy San Dimas really stands out here nicely with her swallowing facial to wrap things up, and Aiden Ashley does a fantastic job taking cock for her first time to open the movie. Maya Hills gives up the ass very nicely, and Asa and Charmane's lesbian tryst works every bit as well as one would expect with stars of their caliber. Of course one can't for get Allie Haze, who takes on Derrick and Xander very well with a nice bit of cosplay fun. Wolverine XXX is a very solid parody that's quite deserving of some of the attention it's received this awards season, and well worth the purchase.

The Extras: The only extra on the first DVD was a cumshot recap. The second disc is devoted entirely to extras. Trailers are included for ten other Axel Braun parodies. The photo gallery about three and a quarter minutes. There's also behind the scenes featurettes, a non-sex version of the movie, and commercials.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about thirty three minutes. Aiden and Tommy start out getting made up and outfitted before Axel shows up to check them out and talk about it being Aiden's first boy-girl scene. There's also a bit of fun with Mike Moz as Professor X before chatting with Allie Haze as she suits up. You get a few outtakes as they shoot the scenes with Derrick and Xander as well as a fun chat with Xander about being Spider-Man. There's plenty more fun with Aiden and Tommy along with lots of comic book humor and even a little fun chatting with the crew. This is a very nice behind the scenes featurette that adds quite a bit to the overall release.

The casting call featurette lasts about twenty two and a half minutes. You get to see many of those who ended up with the roles as well as others who tried for it with a few notable people showing up with some great auditions. Brendon Miller really stands out as Sabertooth, as does Tommy Pistol as Deadpool, James Bartholet as Cornelius, and Zoe Voss as Jean Grey. There's many more auditions through the featurette and it nicely limits things to the same lines and scenes. This works well for comparing the performers, and helps it to be a very nice addition to the overall package.

Final Thoughts: If you're a fan of porn and Marvel Comics runt doing what he does best, this one's going to be well worth the purchase price.
