Initial Expectations: I haven’t seen anything from Lisa Ann to my knowledge, but I always love watching Tabitha Stevens. Wicked also normally makes a great DVD, so I’ve got pretty good expectations even though this is one of Wicked’s more basic DVDs.

Initial Reaction: It looks great for its age and holds its own against most current releases.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of Lisa Ann or Tabitha Stevens.

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who likes heavy plot with their porn.

Audio /Video Quality: Both are excellent! It looks better than a lot of current releases. The audio is very clear and well balanced. The video is very clear but has a couple (and that’s about it) soft focus adjustments.

Music: The music is fun and varies with the scene but it’s still your typical mid 90s porn music. It’s also very well balanced with the other audio.

Review: Maybe it’s just me, but I found the plot in The Wicked Web a little confusing. Of course, with babes like Lisa Ann and Tabitha Stevens in almost every scene it’s kind of easy to let your mind wander. The basic premise of the movie has Lisa Ann as a very sexually open person (go figure) whose husband (Tom Byron) doesn’t get too far past the missionary position. Their married friends Tabitha Stevens and John Decker are swingers who enjoy many games in their sex life and the three of them are trying to convince Tom to join the lifestyle. Tom’s an internet junkie, so Lisa Ann becomes Vinyl online where she posts many erotic stories trying to lure him in. Although not incredibly original, it’s a good idea and one that works in today’s internet age. My problem comes in when I don’t remember seeing Tom sitting at a computer. Instead, Tabitha narrates most of the movie with a little help from John and they read a story or two on the cumputer (no that’s not a typo).

The opening scene has Tabitha walking in on Tom in the kitchen at night. She tries convincing him to swing with her but he doesn’t want to so she guilts him into it. Tabitha’s just as good then as she is now. For early on in her career she does better than many women have done after a hundred movies. She even bends down to rim and tongue fuck Tom’s ass like crazy. It’s not something you see a lot of in movies, but she makes it look good here. Tom also looks good. He’s still in his late 80s rock band perm and hasn’t started to look like the sleazeball he turned into a few years later. Tom and Tabitha have good chemistry also which makes for a hot scene that starts off the movie right.

Next up, Tabitha stops by to scene John at work. She accuses him of fucking his secretary (Kitty Monroe) and brings her in to question her about it. Kitty confirms Tabitha’s suspicions, so Tabitha has her show how she sucks John’s cock while she sits on the desk watching. Kitty’s probably the least attractive person in the cast. It’s obvious that she bleaches her hair and she has a large nose-ring which is almost always a big turn off for me. She tries making up for some of her looks by taking John’s pole in her ass but it doesn’t do too much for me. Luckily, Tabitha has the magical ability to save almost any scene she’s in. She sits on the desk and gives Kitty and John instructions while she masturbates. Although it would have been just an okay scene, Tabitha heats it up very well and turns it into one I just might watch again.

We finally get to see a little of Lisa Ann in action as Tabitha and John start to read one of her stories as Vinyl. Lisa Ann and Goldie Star (being one of the few porn stars with only one R in her last name) experiment with plastic wrap and toys in a bathtub combining a common fantasy / experience with a little added kink. The plastic wrap is a little under done and doesn’t add too much to the scene. It’s wrapped around each lady a couple times and adds a few stripes. About all it seemed to add for me was a little extra color. The women seemed to work very good together and they put the toys through one heck of a stress test. Although not anything really outstanding, it’s slightly better than most girl / girl scenes out there.

Back in the real world, Lisa Ann tries seducing Tom into her way of thinking. She breaks out a blindfold and after putting it on Tom brings in Lovette. I’ve had mixed experiences with Lovette, but this was one of her better scenes and one of the best in the movie. Lisa Ann doesn’t take part much beyond a small blowjob, but she does do a good job of helping Lovette and leads the pace of the scene. Lovette does a very good job in the scene. She’s got a lot of energy blowing Tom and takes it in the ass with great style. It’s a very hot scene and really had me wanting to see more of Lisa Ann in action.

Thankfully Lisa Ann takes on Vince Voyeur and Nick East in the final scene. Vinyl / Lisa is playing pool alone in the house when Vince and Nick show up wanting a little show. Lisa gives them all that and much more. She strips down and then starts blowing one while the other eats and then fucks her. She does a great job of taking them both on without doing a double penetration. I admit that I enjoy watching double penetrations, but it’s nice to see that some girls can keep the momentum of a scene without it. Afterwards we learn that Tom arranged for Vince and Nick to stop by. Ahhh. A happy ending.

Tabitha and Lisa Ann do a great job of leading The Wicked Web . Although it’s early in Tabitha’s career (she doesn’t even have her arm band tattoo yet), she looks almost as good then as she does today. The only fault I saw was her boobs didn’t look quite as good then. She also hasn’t reached her trash talking of today, but you can see it coming on. Lisa Ann’s another great choice. I had heard of her but this was my first movie to my knowledge with her. She’s gorgeous. She oozes sensual sexuality despite her overgrown breasts. I really wish there was a little more plot here so I could see if she could act as good as she can fuck, but I’m certainly not complaining. They’re both good enough that they lead The Wicked Web past its faults leaving a very good impression.

Extras: Although not an actual extra, the cover to The Wicked Web has two sides, one with some hardcore shots and the other without. Both are done well. Also, Wicked goes to a little extra effort to give animated menus. It’s a cool web clip each time and I couldn’t resist thinking of Spider- Man every time I saw it. Unlike most DVDs, The Wicked Web contains three photo galleries. The first contains about two minutes of behind the scenes photos lasting five seconds each. The second is the movie photo gallery and also lasts about two minutes with about five seconds per photo. Finally, there’s an easter egg photo gallery that’s a minute of Lisa Ann photos. In each photo gallery the picture is framed and looks very good. There’s a little grain to some of the movie photos, but it’s not too bad. Trailers are available for Pornogothic, Double Feature! , Hell on Heels , and Sex Safari . The audio bios cover about half of the cast, which is a little shy for Wicked’s normal audio bios but all the major people are covered including Lisa Ann, Tabitha Stevens, Lovette, and Tom Byron. As usual, Wicked does a very good job with the personal information and includes a few photos and a link to the person’s scene. Finally, the usual Wicked extras are present as well such as the list of AVN winners and nominees, web and company information, the Wicked Casino, and free speech information.

Overall: Currently, The Wicked Web can be found online for between $23 and $30 with most stores offering it for around $25. Although it’s a little higher priced than your average release you get your money’s worth. Although the plot lacks slightly the sex is hot enough that you won’t care. The movie looks and sounds great and the extras are pretty good also.

Note to Wicked: Great job! For one of your ‘budget’ releases it’s a great DVD.
