Initial Expectations: I can’t say that a title like Whoriental gives me any hope for this title.

Initial Reaction: It had some hope, but concentrated more on making fun of how Orientals speak English than sex.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects show a bit of age. The audio starts out pretty average, but is drawn down by a noticeable amount of background noises. The video is much the same way. It has some very slight grain and is well lit, but a few remnants show up throughout the movie to hold it back slightly.

Music: There’s some cheesy porn music which is balanced nicely with the rest of the audio. It doesn’t really help or hurt the scenes.

Menus: The menus show some decent care. The main menu has a bit of animation to give things a nice first impression. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Whoriental collects four scenes held together by featuring Oriental women. Each scene has a story at the beginning to set things up, and all take place at a Chinese laundry. All but one of the scenes also have a bit of anal action.

Scene 1 - Brooke Ashley, Byron Long, Jeff Mann, Notorious D., Tony Eveready, and Rod Fontana

When Byron and they boys come in to get their laundry, Brooke wants to give them a bit of fuckee suckee instead. They strip her down to the sexy lingerie under her uniform before working her over with their fingers while she sucks a bit of black cock. The guys move on to fuck her a little before Rod comes back and finds out what’s going on. He has the guys line up so that she can work her way down the line orally, and even gets in at the end of the line himself, before letting her get back up on the counter for the guys to go back to fucking her. They guys fuck her ass and DP her in a position or two before the brothers and Rob decorate her smiling face.

This was an okay scene. Brooke put some okay energy into it, but her constant “fuckee fuckee” moaning quickly got extremely annoying. Even more annoying is the editing and camera work. The editing feels like it tried to keep with the Oriental feel by letting a Japanese steakhouse chef do most of the work. It jumps around quite a bit and has some obvious continuity problems. Finally, the camera work focused on close-ups much more than I like, and I think I wanted a different angle for a good portion of the scene.

Scene 2 - Nellie Pierce and Rick Masters

After a little misunderstanding, Rick decides to take Nellie up on the fuckee fuckee she offers him. He starts out tonguing her twat as she sits on the counter and giving her a little finger action before she drops down to mouth his meat. Rick moves on to give it to Nellie’s pussy missionary style on the counter before boning her butt from behind and letting her get a little reverse cowgirl anal. Finally Nellie finishes things up taking a nice facial.

This scene had a lot of potential, but screwed things up rather than seeing how much it could use. To start with, Nellie’s cute and energetic, which is always a great combination for a female performer. Unfortunately, the camera goes with excruciatingly long gyno-cam shots which had me reaching for the remote and had her concentrate more on trying to make fun of how Orientals speak English than on the sex. It looks like they were having a lot of fun on the set with this, but that doesn’t always make for hot sex. Finally, everything but the anal seems to go on forever, and Nellie frequently seems to be looking off camera for direction. I can’t help but think that this scene would have been a heck of a lot better if Nellie would have just been allowed to fuck rather than try to mix in a bunch of bad dialogue.

Scene 3 - Shawnee and Rod Fontana

Rod brings Shawnee in to give him a massage to help him relax in the penultimate scene. He has her strip down and lay down on the table so that he can show her how he likes it done. He caresses her body as she lays on her stomach and her back before taking off her shoes and massaging her twat with his tongue. Rod has Shawnee play with herself as he strips down so that he can get his massage. Shawnee strokes him before sixty-nining him, and then lays back for Rod to fuck her missionary style. They keep things going through reverse cowgirl and doggie before Rod finally decorates Shawnee’s face.

This is a pretty good scene. Yes, it has some of the same camera and editing problems, but they’re not quite as bad here. It also moves away a bit from the constant jokes about Orientals speaking English, which lets Shawnee concentrate of fucking and sucking, both of which she looks to enjoy without going over the top showing it. This is a good scene, and although it’s the only one without anal, it more than makes up for it.

Scene 4 - Kiki Doll and Don Fernando

Don stops in posing as a dry cleaning equipment salesman while scouting as a pornographer. Kiki’s interested, and Don agrees to help her give an audition right on the spot. They both strip down and admire each other’s body a little before Don stands on the counter in front of Kiki for her to suck him. He moves right on to fuck her missionary and doggie style before stretching her sphincter. He gives it to her ass missionary style as well as from behind before finally nutting in her mouth while she looks up at him.

This scene is the best in the movie, and only has competition from Shawnee. Kiki manages to mix both nasty sex and talking, and seems to really get into both the anal and the facial. The only problem here is Don, who has to add a bit of misogyny to the scene by talking down to her, calling her a whore, etc.

Whoriental has a decent idea, but due to its focus, doesn’t take it nearly as far as it could go. I like the idea of building a porno around a Chinese laundry and having a few politically incorrect jokes thrown in to get things started. I laughed quite a bit at it when it started out, and you could tell that the cast was having fun with it. Unfortunately, like so much else that JM does, it was taken too far and ended up bringing the movie down below average. The biggest problem here was that some of the girls had trouble fucking and delivering the lines decently, which hurt most of the scenes. The scenes were hurt just as much by the excessive gyno-cam shots and the editing, which seemed to focus on them way too much and made the scenes seem to drag on way too long. Thankfully the scenes get better as they go on, but there’s still problems through all of them. Whoriental has a decent idea, and with a bit of focus it would have been much better.

The Extra Stuff

Bios with a little personal information, a photo, and a JM filmography are included for each of the girls. The photo gallery lasts about two minutes with roughly six seconds per okay framed photo. There’s also contact information and a behind the scenes featurette which lasts about nine minutes. The behind the scenes featurette nicely mixes outtakes and the shooting of the sex scenes. It’s fairly short, but for the time works very nicely.

The Bottom Line:

This one might be worth picking up if you can find it cheap and are an extreme Oriental fan. Due to the camera work and editing style I might try renting it first, but there is some good sex. There’s also some decent extra footage and an average transfer.

Note to JM Productions: I realize that this is one of your older DVDs. The really sad thing is that technically it outshines your current releases in every way except for the transfer.
