Synopsis:
A group of guys (Randy Spears, Lee Stone, and Darren James) and a separate group of girls (Jewel De'Nyle, Temptress, and Jade) both plan getaways to the same place, Wildlife Resorts. They end up double booked for the same cabin and to make matters worse, Randy and Jewel used to be romantically involved.

Audio/Video:
Weekend Getaway is presented with an English 2.0 Stereo track, which works decent for the film. The dialog is clear and easy to hear at all points in the film. The only issues that I have with the audio, other than the musical selection, is that during the sex scenes, the volume appears to increase and that outside noises, like the waterfall, are very low in the background. Other than these points, there is no problem with the audio. Adam & Eve hasn't included any foreign language tracks or any subtitle options for the film.

Weekend Getaway is presented in the widescreen aspect ratio of approximately 1.85:1. In an excellent move, Adam & Eve decided to present Weekend Getaway in anamorphic widescreen, something that I hope more adult companies do in the future. Weekend Getaway was shot using high definition 24p digital cameras, not film or video cameras. This transfer looks beautiful there is no grain, which isn't present due to the filming method, artifacts or glitches anywhere to be seen. Even as big an advocate as I am for using film for adult films, I have to say that this method creates a nice looking movie. The color levels are correctly set, although they do look a little odd from time to time during the film, but this could have been due to color correction being used.

Special Features:
Adam & Eve has put a few extras on the disc, not as much as I would like to see from a title with a premium collection moniker, but they are better than nothing. There is a photo gallery that contains 18 stills from the feature film that you flip through. There are biographies included on the disc for Jewel De'Nyle, Temptress, Dru Berrymore, Flick Shagwell, Lee Stone, Ian Daniels, Evan Stone, and Randy Spears. The biographies include some basic information and a photo of the star. There is a 23 minute behind the scenes piece which is a combination of interviews and of the film being shot. There are three bonus scenes included on the disc. The first one, from Color Blind, features Ian Daniels, Gina Ryder, and Nikita Denise and runs for 13 minutes. The second one, from The Power of Love, features Ian Daniels, Mia Smiles, and Inari Vachs and runs for 15 minutes. The last one, from Amateur Angels 3, features Nikki Love and Holly Hollywood and runs for 19 minutes. The last extra included on the disc is trailers for Sweetheart Trilogy, Private Moments, Jewel De'Nyle's Wild Ride, and Photogenic.

Navigation:
There are six chapters available from the main menu for Weekend Getaway. They are identified by a video clip from where the chapter goes to. Each chapter goes to just before the beginning of each sex scene in the film. The available chapters allow for decent navigation through the film, but more would be preferred. There is a time code for the feature film encoded on the discs.

General Review:
Although Weekend Getaway is a feature film, the plot, which starts out well, quickly gets lost in the film. Which is disappointing for fans of adult films with a plot, since it is given a decent set-up. Don't get me wrong, the film has a rather cheesy, it would never happen in real life, porn plot. But if well developed the plot could have worked out decently for the film. Unfortunately the plot gets forgotten and the film basically becomes a bunch of sex scenes with filler thrown in between them.

As far as the cinematography goes it's a mixed bag. The non-sex portions are excellent and resemble a mainstream television production, which gave me some high expectations for the film. Unfortunately, I didn't find the same to be true for the sex scenes. Several of the scenes were shot with close and long range shots primarily and not much for medium range shots. This isn't true for all of the scenes, but enough to bother me, especially with the nice job that was done for the non-sex portions of the film.

The locations used in the film are well picked and although there are some of the more standard locations used, there are others that aren't as often seen in adult films. There was some great picking of locations for non-sex portions of the film allowing for a good looking end product that doesn't resemble everything else on the market.

The sex scenes, besides the camera angle problems, are decent with a little mix of everything to satisfy viewers that like tamer sex. There isn't enough of the nastier side to please fans of only nasty sex, but couples through the middle of the road crowd should find the sex satisfactory. All of the cast members appear to be enjoying themselves and bring some decent energy to their scenes. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal and anal sex with blow jobs, pussy eating (male to female and female to female), lesbianism, toys (anal, vaginal, and DP), and pussy fingering. For viewers that care about condom use, there are condoms used in all of the scenes.

One of the major drawbacks to the film as far as I was concerned was the music used. The music used doesn't always fit the scene and often it cuts out to the next piece abruptly. Good music can go unnoticed in an adult film since it fits in, but when the music stands out and draws your attention away from the film, that detracts from the viewing experience. This is what the music here did to me while watching the film.

The Scenes:
The first scene brings us Evan Stone and Flick Shagwell for a scene that starts out with some pussy eating before going into the blow job. The scene finishes with some vaginal sex. The second scene features Jewel De'Nyle and Jade for a lesbian scene that includes toys (anal, vaginal and DP) and some pussy eating.

The third scene gives us Randy Spears, Ian Daniels and Dru Berrymore for a scene that starts out with a pussy eating and blow job combo before just going into a blow job. The scene then goes into a vaginal sex and blow job combo before finalizing with an anal sex and blow job combo. The fourth scene brings us Lee Stone and Temptress for a scene that starts out with some pussy eating before the blow job. The scene concludes with some vaginal sex.

The fifth scene features Darren James and Jade and starts out with a blow job before the vaginal sex. The sixth and final scene in the film gives us Randy Spears and Jewel De'Nyle and starts out with a blow job before going into the vaginal sex. The scene and the film conclude with some anal sex.

Parting Thoughts:
Although Weekend Getaway offers some nice features, like anamorphic widescreen, some great locations and some excellent non-sex camera work as a whole, the movie falls in the average category. This isn't to say that the film isn't worth picking up, I just wouldn't pay a lot for it. Fans of tamer sex with a plot will get the most enjoyment out of the film whereas fans of nasty sex or those who hate a plot will like the film the least.
