Initial Reaction: It’s nothing to set the world afire, but it’s a very nice little diversion.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very clear and nicely balanced, which moves the technical qualities above the average mark. The video shows a little grain, as one would expect from a movie of this age. The entire movie is a little on the dark side, and many of the sex scenes are dark enough that it’s hard to make out much detail, but the transfer itself looks to be very good.

Music: It’s the porn music you loved to hate from the early nineties. There’s also some music that seems like it would work very well in a few of the better B-movies. Thankfully it’s balanced extremely well with the rest of the audio.

Menus: The menus are nicely done with a technological feel. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a title for it.

The Feature: Although scientists have been trying for years without luck, Jenna Jameson has developed a method for full sensory input. I guess it should have been a no-brainer with all of Jenna’s experience with silicon, I mean silicone. It can be converted into a very mild couples film just by skipping this scene. The rest of the sex is good, but the only thing that really stands out is the lack of lighting in most of them. The plot is pretty good, especially for when the feature was made. It’s definitely dated, but it’s recent enough to still be familiar. Unfortunately, the plot dies with the last sex scene and leaves things fairly unresolved, and relegates itself to an average rating. I was debating on whether to give the plot and acting an above average or good rating here, but was disappointed enough with how things ended that I can’t really see moving it above average. Virtual Reality 69 might take you to different places, but none of them will seem too new.

Overall: Currently, Virtual Reality 69 can be found online for between $24 and $30 with most stores near the top end. Unless you’re an extreme Jenna fan, you might want to rent this one before shelling out the big bucks. The movie’s okay, and the sex is above average, but the video is very dark and the extras are pretty standard.

Note to Wicked: Although you did a decent job with what you had to work with here, I can see why you’ve waited to bring this one out. Although this one didn’t impress me that much, outside of the menus, it’s great to see how far you’ve come as a company.
