Initial Expectations: DVSX has been impressing me quite a bit lately, and the little I’ve seen of Bryan Xin’s work has also been pretty good. With the cast they’ve put together this time I can’t help but go in with very high expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s a little inconsistent, but when it’s on it’s really on.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is pretty clear and has a nice balance, but there is a very quiet hum that does appear in the background. The video is also pretty good. It’s nicely lit and has very little grain, but there is a very little bit of handheld camera shake.

Music: The music is sexy and rests very quietly in the background during the scene openings.

Menus: The menus hover around the low side of average. The main menu blends a still with a clip from the movie while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Total Babe 4 focuses on some of the current up and coming “It Girls”. Each scene normally starts with a little tease to let the girl show off and then lets them get down and dirty with their partner(s). It’s a simple idea, but then again, so’s sex.

Scene 1 - Teagan Presley and Kris Slater

Teagan starts things out giving the camera a little tease. She moves on to start diddling herself, and even fingers her ass a little before Kris shows up. When he reaches out to touch her, Teagan grabs his hand and pushes it against her pussy. She keeps things going by sucking his cock and taking it into her throat several times. Scene 2 - Brittney Skye and Barrett Blade

The chemistry also seemed a little cold and I was disappointed that there wasn’t really any action between the girls. This scene was a little disappointing and the weakest in the movie.

Scene 5 - Amanda, Lauro Giotto, and Bruno

Amanda starts things out doing a little dance in a bikini. She’s soon joined by Lauro and Bruno, and takes Lauro into her mouth while Bruno goes right to fucking her from behind. The camera work also held this scene back a little for me, mostly because it seemed to get a little closer than it did in other scenes. This is an above average scene, but it has trouble keeping up with the others here.

Scene 6 - Cytherea and Kris Slater

Cythera starts things out showing off her stubbly slit in a little pink lingerie. She goes right to work sucking Kris’ cock and balls as soon as she can before letting him tongue her in return. Kris seems to know just how to make his fingers work, as it doesn’t take him too long to get Cytherea to start squirting. This is a pretty hot scene. I’ll admit to being a little biased as squirting has always fascinated me, but Cytherea and Kris do a nice job of keeping the chemistry flowing as well as the liquid love. Just as with the opening scene, Kris seems to know just what his partner needs and brings it out very well. Cytherea hasn’t really had any problems that I’ve seen with having her partners bring wet juicy things out of her, and she continues it here. This is a very good scene to finish things up with.

Total Babe 4: It Girls is a hit or miss type of a movie. When it hits, it hits the bullseye, jackpot, and the home run all at the same time. Teagan’s scene is the perfect example of this, and might be why I didn’t like the movie more. I was in awe of the Teagan scene here, as everything I see in it is done right from the chemistry to the camera work to the scene pacing, and the sex it contains. I think it set the bar so high for me that the rest of the movie couldn’t quite match up, although Nautica, Cytherea, and Brittney also do a very nice job. I also had some problems with Xinvision, Bryan Xin’s style of camera work. With Xinvision, Bryan Xin pretty much makes a return to old fashioned gonzo with better equipment and the knowledge that most times it’s better to keep your mouth shut and concentrate on what’s happening in front of you. In some ways, I really like it. He has a nice eye and seems to know just where to focus your attention. It isn’t interrupted with a lot of edits, or at least, it does so in a manner that doesn’t stick out like a sore thumb. On the flip side, I sometimes like a little mixup in the camera angles. There were several times when I wanted him to back up with the camera or to show me something other than what I was seeing. It’s definitely a stylistic preference, and I’m sure that while I don’t care for some of the style others are going to absolutely love it. In the end, Total Babe 4 is a good stroke flick that’s slightly hampered by a few little details.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for A.N.A.L. 3, More Than a Woman 9, and Brothas’ POV 2. The photo gallery contains over forty very nice looking snapshots and full screen photos. There’s also a bonus scene, a behind the scenes featurette, internet access, and solo scenes.

Solo scenes are included for every girl in the movie. As usual, they last between about a minute and a half and about three minutes. This time it’s a nice mix of scenes. About half the girls use toys and half of them use their fingers. Cytherea stands out nicely by giving a nice squirt again, and Brittney stands out by giving a little more anal. The sequences are nicely shot, but with their length they sometimes seem a little cut off or rushed. They still work great as an extra, and my only complaint about them is that there isn’t an option to play them all or any ID’s to let you easily go to a specific girl in the movie. DVSX seems to be looking for ways to improve their movies, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if in a few months this was a thing of the past.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts nearly seven minutes and revolves around Cytherea, Teagan, and Nautica Thorn. Most of the time is spent on Cytherea, first talking with her and then capturing some of her scene being shot. There’s also a little talking with Bryan Xin about the hazards of shooting Cytherea. Teagan is next, and in addition to some fantastic shots of her ass some of the crew tries bouncing quarters off it. Finally. there’s a little fun with Nautica and Joe Friday. It’s a short behind the scenes featurette, but it’s also fun and adds nicely to the overall package.

Bonus Scene - Lauren Phoenix and K. K.

Lauren starts out the eight minute bonus scene in a bathrobe talking with K. K. She gives him a little tease while talking to him and then drops to her knees to start sucking his black cock. Currently, many DVSX titles can be found online for between about $13 and $25 with many stores offering them for around $20. The low end is more than fair here, but before spending much more than that I’d suggest renting this one. The sex is a little inconsistent, but the technical aspects and extras show some nice care.

Note to DVSX: Although this one didn’t quite work for me as much as some of your others, you’re showing some very nice care towards the overall DVD and are mixing things up nicely. There’s a couple areas which could use a little polish, most notably the menus, but other than that this was a nice job.
