Initial Expectations: Very high. Tina really knows what to do in front of the camera and if she does half as good behind it, this one’s going to be a keeper!

Initial Reaction: It’s a great oral movie that blends gonzo and normal adult movies very well.

Audio /Video Quality: The video has a slight grain but it doesn’t interfere with the movie at all. The audio, in a word, sucks (which Ms. Tyler admits and apologizes for on the commentary). The interviews are hard to hear and you can barely hear any of the sex sounds.

Music: The music is all electronic and by 13 Music. It changes according to the feel of the scene and does a great job of enhancing the scenes.

Review: In this first volume of Tina Tyler’s Favorites , Tina takes on blowjobs, which she believes don’t necessarily have to be done only with one’s mouth. The feature has a nice feel to it, starting off each scene with Tina interviewing a ‘woman on the street’ which is very different from a ‘woman of the street’. After asking them a question or two about what they’re doing, where they’ve been, or what they’ve just bought, they normally ask her if she’s doing some kind of survey. She tells them that yes she is and proceeds to ask them about their most memorable blowjob. At this point it normally cuts to the oral scene without any further narration. It’s a really nice tweak on the gonzo style as when it cuts to the scene the camera work doesn’t have the normal shake and jitter that many gonzo features, especially the person’s initial offering, does. Also worth mentioning is that every woman in the feature has natural breasts. Don’t take this to mean that they’re all small. It’s a great added bonus and I’m very glad that Tina went to all the extra work to cast them. In today’s adult film industry it couldn’t have been easy.

Tina accosts Cheyenne Silver coming out of a club in whose bathroom she confesses her most memorable blowjob occurred. Chris Cannon plays the lucky recipient in the extremely small bathroom. There’s very few camera angles here but they work very well. There’s also a mirror on the floor below them which also yields some great angles and shots. Cheyenne has some very good energy here and starts with her hair up. I mention this because I find women with their hair up in a scene very sexy yet rarely found. Sadly she does let it down later, but she still looks very hot. You can’t hear a lot of Cheyenne’s slurping, but the music fits the scene well enough that it didn’t interfere with my enjoyment of the scene. Cheyenne also ends the scene with a great facial.

Rebecca Lords gets questioned as she walks along with her newly purchased CD before going into the blowjob she gave Tony Tedeschi. Rebecca and Tony have great chemistry together and it gives a highly erotic scene complete with Rebecca tit-fucking him. Rebecca really smokes in this scene. Her entire body oozes back and forth as she blows Tony. Combine this with amazing eyes and you’ve got one heck of a hot blowjob! Sadly, Tony has a pretty weak pop on Rebecca’s pretty titties.

In the next scene Kiss tells about the blowjob she gave her boyfriend (Chris Cannon). This was one of my favorite scenes. She sucks on Chris while he grows and fingers herself as she works him over. Kiss looks great here and has a luscious pair of real funbags. She looks at the camera a few times with an expression like she knows you’re watching her and enjoying every minute of it. She even ends the scene with a great facial. This scene will definitely see some replay action.

Mandi Frost is met by Tina while sucking down an iced cappuccino. She actually came out of retirement to do this scene with her real life husband, known here as A.K.A. in his only adult performance, before heading right back into retirement. Mandi has a great natural body that shows why fake tits can never compare with the real thing. She has the perfect jiggle while she’s getting skull fucked. There’s some great energy in this scene, which has a very primal feel. In this case, the two lucky guys are Chris Cannon (who sure seems to be getting around a lot here) and Brandon Irons. This scene has the added bonus of a little penetration also, although nothing is done with it. You don’t even see him pumping her much. Chris just decided to be a gentleman and give her a little thank you while she sucks on Brandon’s iron. This was one of my least favorite scenes. Fiero had some decent energy by I just felt like something was slightly missing from the scene.

Heaven Leigh takes on real life hubby Blake Leigh on the couch in the next scene. Heaven really looks great here as she sucks on Blake with whipped cream and a cherry on his cock. Heaven has her original red hair and looks very natural as a whole. This scene was done before she decided to see how many piercings and tattoos would fit on her body and before she started researching the exact number of hair dyes on the market. She’s very cute and does a good job on her husband. This scene was a little limited due to the number of windows in the room but still worked okay. Make sure you listen to the commentary on this scene as it will give you a great appreciation for it and its performers.

Finally we get to Tina and Drew Andrews. Drew has the great ability to do repeated pop shots. This was the worst scene technically. You could see Tina talking away at Drew but you can’t hear a single word she says. Despite that, it’s a great scene. I’ve you’ve watched Tina give a blowjob in one of her other movies you know she does a great job and this one is no exception. It’s one of the best ones I’ve seen her give and she goes all out with her entire body. She doesn’t limit it to just sucking on him. She gives a great titty-fuck also. Helping this all out, she looks as sultry as ever oozing sex all over Drew’s long cock. I’ve commented before that it’s important to end with a strong scene and this one does just that.

Tina Tyler’s Favorites Pt. 1: Blowjobs does have some technical problems but it isn’t enough to really interfere with the movie. There’s so many movies out there where you never hear any of the sounds of sex that I wouldn’t have thought twice about the lack of sex sounds if Tina didn’t talk about it in the commentary. Although an oral feature, it has a little variety and a very fun feel to the entire feature. I know that I had very high expectations for this feature and it came awfully close. If you’re a fan of oral sex videos or Tina Tyler you really need this one on your shelf.

Extras: The photo gallery contains 25 snapshots, all of which are very clear. Unlike many other DVDs, Tina Tyler’s Favorites Pt. 1: Blowjobs contains a short bio matted on several pictures of the star for all of the women in the feature. As usual, there aren’t any bios for the men. Trailers are included for several series of movies released by OGV included Shane, Rodney Moore, Peeping Tom, Mass Appeal and Pick Up Lines . Tina also gives a great commentary. I think it might be the best solo commentary I’ve heard. She’s very gracious throughout the commentary. She gives a lot of credit to others in the movie including the crew and many of the cast members. It’s a nice change from some of the other fevered egos in the adult entertainment industry who think the world revolves around them. It’s even more amazing when Tina talks about how problematic this feature was to make. There were several last minute (like within a half hour one case) cast and location changes. I was surprised the feature even got made ten minutes into the commentary. Luckily, it did. Tina also talks about some of the details such as what she was wanted in the scenes, the time length of the scenes, and why the girls get magically naked. She gives some general background information on many of the scenes as well as many tips for having fun at home. Finally, the ever gracious Tina gives a nice plug for Adult DVD Talk. If you’re going to watch the movie, make sure you check out the commentary also.

Overall: Currently, Tina Tyler's Favorites Pt. 1: Blowjobs can be found online for between $17 (on sale) and $26 with most stores offering it for around $25. I readily admit that I'm biased on it as Tina's one of my favorite performers, but if you're a fan of oral action, it's a lot of fun. Tina also gives one of the best solo commentaries I've heard so far. Sadly, the audio quality does suffer.

Note to OGV: I hope the audio quality improves in further volumes.

Additional Note on the Audio Quality: I should add that the audio problems have nothing to do with OGV's treatment of the source material. Tina e-mailed me to tell me that the problems originated with herself and her crew and that she takes complete blame for how it turned out. She thought the review was a little fuzzy on that and I have to agree with her when I look back at it. I have to give Tina a lot of credit for stepping up to the plate to take the blame for the audio problems and wanting reviews of her movie to be as accurate as possible when it comes to problems and their cause. I also have to take some blame as I see that I might have made it appear that the audio problems were OGV's fault and I apologize for that as OGV has done a great job on Tina Tyler's Favorites Vol. 1: Blowjobs .
