Initial Expectations: Although Fred Lincoln can make an occasionally well done feature, most of the time I haven’t found him rising much above average, which is what I’m expecting here.

Initial Reaction: It’s fun, hot, and one of the best features I’ve seen from Fred Lincoln.

Audio /Video Quality: VCA has always been known for an excellent presentation, and this one isn’t much different. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there are a few parts that are obviously dubbed. They’re during an outdoor scene, so I’m assuming that there was a lot of outdoor noise they tried to cover up. If so it’s kind of a lose - lose situation, and I’m not sure which is the lesser of two evils. The video is also very clear, and has very few signs of shadows or grain.

Music: The music varies a bit from scene to scene, with some of it being very typical and some being on the harder side. It’s balanced extremely well wit the rest of the audio.

False Advertising: The cover states there are exclusive interviews, but I couldn’t find a single interview. I’ve deducted a half point from the overall rating because of this.

Menus: The main menu is the standard boring menu that VCA has been using for quite a while and that I’ve been regularly complaining about. I was actually ready to drink a glass of Ron Jeremy’s ball sweat if they’d change the main menus, but thankfully I got an e-mail from them the other day explaining them. Talk about saved by the bell! They went with this simple menu system to make things easier, which was something they learned from a few surveys. While this is an admirable thing, it didn’t work out like they thought and they’re changing things now. VCA used to be one of the leaders in DVD, and it’s nice to hear they’re getting back on the horse. Luckily, their care for the consumers always showed through in their chapter menus, which nicely lists the scene by the leading performer along with a small clip of the scene.

The Feature: When adult model Michele Raven wanders into a book store owned by Evan Stone, she hoped to find a copy of the latest smut mag she appeared in. Evan can’t help her out there, but they hit it off enough that she decides she’d actually like to try reading and find a book. Of course, she wants something about sex, and leaves shortly later with something she’s looking forward to. She finds she likes both Evan and the books he recommends, and because of it, romance starts blooming between them.

It’s a frequent problem with all girl scenes, since there’s no pop shot, but I’ve rarely seen it as bad as here.

Military officer Billy Glide returns home to sweetheart Nina Ferrari, a nice looking blonde who’s well on her way to becoming a human pawn shop, in the next scene. They quickly strip down before Billy fingers Nina’s pussy, licks her pucker, and spanks her ass, first from behind and then with Nina on her back so she can watch. They move around to nicely transition into spooning and doggie, but return every now and then to do a little more missionary work. There’s some great energy in this scene, and I think I might have lost weight just watching it. Billy and Nina go at it with such intensity that it’s hard to not be wowed by most of this scene.

After telling her about the last scene, Evan Stone gets busy with Michele Raven in the bookstore. She drops down to suck his cock in one of the store aisles and lets him fuck her face and tits. It’s a good scene to end things with and has some nice chemistry and energy. I’ve never been that impressed with Kristal Summers, but she does a very good job here and shows why she’s getting quite a bit of attention recently.

The Things We Do For Love is a very nice movie. I’m think it’s loosely based on the Julia Roberts / Hugh Grant movie Notting Hill, but I can’t be sure since I normally try to avoid Ms. Ed’s movies (and not just because I don’t find Julia as attractive as everybody else seems to). The cast does a nice job with the non-sex roles and give the characters a touch of reality, and certainly real emotions. Evan does a nice job as the guy who’s afraid of the outside world, but loves his books, and is nicely matched by the worldly and lusty Michele. The sex is also nicely done, and often has a slightly nasty touch to it. Much of this can be credited to Michele Raven, who does a great job in every one of her scenes. This is rally her movie, and she does a job she should be very proud of. The sex nicely blends together the real world scenes and the fantasy scenes to give the feature a nice variety. The Things We Do For Love is a very enjoyable movie that at the very least deserves a rental.

Overall: Most VCA titles can be found online for between about $18 and $25 with most stores offering them for about $20. I’m awfully tempted to recommend this one at the lower end. It’s very likable and has some hot sex. It also has VCA’s standard nice transfer, although there isn’t really anything to mention for extras.

Note to VCA: Please watch what extras you list on the front cover. I was really looking forward to seeing the interviews and disappointed when I found they didn’t exist.
