The stills looked really good for this one and the cast that was assembled was huge and remarkable, so why is this film such a letdown? Well, it’s for several reasons. One, the editing is frantic and choppy. Two, the sex is mundane to say the least. Three, the whole thing is hokey as hell. Four, it’s downright boring.

Bobby Brennan, who makes his debut here, is a very adorable blond twinkie. He’s a piss-poor cocksucker, but it’s sweet to him try. He’s also a courageous little bottom, though he doesn’t seem too ecstatic about it. Let’s just chalk both up to inexperience. I like him nonetheless. Now, Bobby, who plays a character named Marker, (everyone in this film is graffiti mad) has a crush on his fellow worker, Vandal. Gura, a hairy young Latino with attitude, plays this role. Vandal is also the head of the gang Taggers that Marker wants to join.

The first sex scene is a dream that Marker has about his co-worker. In it Marker is seated naked on a toilet peering though a glory hole at his idol being worshiped by two young acolytes: Jason Sizemore and Lexx Parker. Lexx is sucking on Gura’s condom-covered cock; or rather, Lexx is sucking on a condom containing Gura’s cock. Gura fucks Lexx’s shaved ass while Jason feeds Lexx his dick. As he does so often in these films, Jason leaves his shirt on because he’s ashamed of his skinny chest. Get over it, Jason, in this bulimic world skinny is beautiful. Besides with a dick like yours, no one is going to be looking at your chest anyway! As Lexx sits on Gura’s cock, Jason moves in behind Lexx and slips his huge dick alongside to double-fuck the voracious bottom boy. Sounds hot, doesn’t it? But the editing is so rapid and abrupt that it becomes a montage. Images go zap, zip, zap: Gura’s face, the two dicks in Lexx’s hole, Jason’s face, etc. until any chance of the viewer being able to concentrate on any image long enough to get a hard-on is hopeless. Now these so-called Russian montages are fine if you are filming a battle or the shower scene in Psycho, but in a porn film they are disastrous.

The next sex scene takes place in the store where Vandal and Marker work. Marker has found a fuck comic and inside he finds some clothed pictures of Vandal. It’s enough to get him going and he starts beating off. He is interrupted by Anthony Holloway delivering some paint. Anthony sees Bobby’s hard dick and goes down on it very briefly, cumming almost immediately on Bobby’s leg. Bobby pulls off a very nice load. The whole scene maybe took two minutes.

In another dream, Marker imagines Vandal fucking sweet little Tim Tyler in a sling. Vandal has a big four-inch medallion on a huge silver chain that he never removes. The medallion says “Big Daddy”. Now as Gura is not old enough to be a Daddy and his dick isn’t big, I don’t know why he wears this. It’s just something else to distract from the sex. But Gura has help here as the director now decides to bring in a smoke machine and film lots of double-exposures. (Someone save us from porn directors who think they are ‘artistes’!) A chunky dude named Paco feeds Tim some dick but mainly just stands around and watches.

Cameron Fox and Bastien now get in on in a storm drain as Scott Walker watches. Cameron and Batien are two of my favorite performers and their scene should've been a good one, but it has no heat and their sex is just perfunctory. Scott is an interesting newcomer with what appears to a cow skull tattooed on his chest. He has a nice dick, too. An old guy wanders in to join him wanking—although they remain separate. Who is this old-timer and why is he here? Scott spray-paints the intruder's ass after both have climaxed.

This takes us to the gang initiation (i.e. orgy) where Marker and Brandon Weber are to become taggers. The words “Suck it” flash onto the screen as they used to do in the old Batman series that can be seen from time to time on Nickelodeon. (When the anal action begins, “Fuck it” flashes.) But first the orals. The highlight of “suck it”—if one can call it that—consists of Brandon and Bobby going down a line sucking dicks. The suckees spray them with paint as the suckers go down the line. The anal (“fuck it”) has Brandon double-fucked by Cameron Sage and Bobby Golden. At this point, “Bust in” flashes on the screen. Clever? Not!

When it’s Marker’s time to be anally initiated, Vandal stops the proceedings and takes the kid back to his place.

Now begins the only truly effective scene in the entire film because it has a set-up and the characters actually seem to show interest in and affection toward one another. Also, the director and editor seem to relax and let the scene play. Vandal begins by gently wiping the paint from Marker’s body. And, for the first time in the film, Gura (Vandal) sucks dick. There is a nice sixty-nine followed by each simultaneously rimming the other. (Is this a seventy-one?) Gura fucks little Bobby to end the film.

Here is a film that seems to have everything going for it, and I was really looking forward to viewing it—which makes its failures all the more distressing. Taggers is one of the bigger disappointments of my adult life.
