Taboo Of Tarot Review

Stars:
- Nikki Anderson (tarot reader); not same one that does Private videos
- Chandler (lead character)
- Jessica Drake (lead's friend)
- Vivi Anne (high priestess in scene 1)
- Kianna Bradley (the "star" in scene 3)
- Envy (chariot girl in scene 2)

Technical problems:
- Using PowerDVD, playback gets stuck on chapter boundaries so you have to hit the next chapter button to continue. Very annoying to say the least.

Video Quality:
- Some parts like the intro and other outdoor scenes are grainy; almost like they used outdoor film, then shot at dusk.
- They overdid some of the dark scenes; while they fit the mood, it's hard to see anything. Seems like they need to crank up the gamma correction on the film transfer.

Basic story:
Lead character and friend poke around house where a Tarot card reader disappears. She finds the original Tarot deck and experiences different scenes depending on which card she picks out. They get stuck inside the house trapped in these scenes that are run by the cards and the missing tarot reader. It finally turns out that the lead character has to take the tarot reader's place. Graphics, scenery, outfits are pretty good. At least there is a story :-)

Scene 1:
Wild 3-way w/ 3 good-looking girls. Multiple types of dildos. Strap on dildo anal sex.

Scene 2:
Lead character goes into past and has sex w/ a gladiator on his roman carriage on a country road. Anal sex only? I thought only Private did videos like this :-)

Scene 3:
Dark scene w/ 2 girls and 1 guy. An actress went to the tarot reader and picked out a Tarot card that had her "star" in this chapter.

Scene 4:
Lead's companion has an erotic scene where she and a Mark Davis start off blindfolded in a sunlit room (the turret of the tarot reader's house). Probably the sexiest scene of the movie except for the excessive closeups of her getting pounded. What's up w/ the tattooed girls nowadays?

Scene 5:
Sex on a piano between the tarot reader and her husband. Her ample breasts prove enough for a good tit fuck. The room again is darkly lit, so while this is sexy, it's hard to see anything.

Scene 6:
Sex between a couple in front of the tarot readers house. The tarot reader and a guy have vaginal and anal sex on and in front of a horse drawn carriage.

Extras:
- Couldn't find any previews w/ PowerDVD.
- They have something called "Hot Shots" which puts an icon on part of the picture at the beginning of a scene that lets you jump to the climax part of the scene. I didn't find it too useful.
- What's puzzzling is there seem to be two copies of the movie on the DVD according to PowerDVD.

Summary:
I'm afraid I can't recommend it because of the bad lighting. While it's somewhat a couples movie, this video quality puts a major damper on it. There were also scenes where the camera kept flitting through multiple angles like the director was trying to do something artsy; it was just plain annoying. If you want to view this on a computer DVD player, don't get it. I hope Adam&Eve will take this as constructive criticism if they read this. I should also mention that I won this DVD from AdultDVDTalk's contest. I really wanted to like it and give it a good review, but couldn't. Sorry. :-(
