"The prettiest filth....period" so claims the DVD cover of director Oren Cohen's 2 disc SURREAL SEX (2010, Low Art) with 9 guy/gal scenes that actually offer little in the way of erotically charged surrealism. For the most part, these straight sex encounters are rather tame but Mr. Cohen does a fine job of lighting and shooting his subjects in scenes that begin with an interesting tease and accompanying music that turn into a typical suck and fuck fest with the sounds of the performers usually being the only thing heard on the soundtrack. His darker visual style here fits his surreal theme a bit but the typical gonzo crowd will likely balk at his lighting choices...and the absence of anal sex. These DVDs look fine in wide screen and most scenes are around 20 minutes in length. Scant extras. No condoms used.

Disc 1---1 hour 50 minutes

JAYDEN JAMES & RALPH LONG---Blues, pinks and purples color this scene as Jayden sports silver studded eye brows above her natural eye brows and keeps crotch-torn black mesh panties on for her straight sex encounters with Ralph in a warehouse environ. ADRIANNA ANGEL & NICK MANNING---This duo land on the same pale green couch used in scene three. So, Oren Cohen's SURREAL SEX (2010, Low Art) delivers some solid scenes with an interesting use of color/color combinations in typically darker environs. The first disc is terrific (!!! 1/2) but disc two (!! 1/2) has three scenes that look fine but seem to belong on some other DVD. Therefore, that terrific opening scene on disc 2 belongs on disc 1 as the finale and that would have made SURREAL SEX a really terrific one disc DVD that runs just over 2 hours instead of a two disc DVD just over three hours. As is, the combined rating for the 2 discs of SURREAL SEX amounts to an all too real !!! outta !!!!!
