Specs Appeal 2 (Kick Ass) Review

Audio/visual quality: The camerawork nicely mixes long, medium and close-up shots. The focus stays consistently sharp (except for menus and credits, which creatively incorporate a few intentionally fuzzy images). Minor problems with shadows and overlighting are present, but not often enough to interfere with my overall enjoyment of the DVD. There's a low audio hum in places, though it's not overly distracting. The balance is occasionally a little off, especially in scene four. The audio clarity is otherwise good; dialog is very easy to understand, and there's no obvious dubbing. The only music is a fun rock piece that plays during the credits and also during Sunrise's tease.

First impression: I could go cross-eyed from the sheer joy of watching porn like this!

Scene highlights: This is the second volume of Specs Appeal, but it's the first I've seen. I believe the scene set-ups follow an identical theme throughout the series: i.e., a horny guy wants to score a bespectacled hottie, and he bumbles through atrocious pick-up lines and awkward moves until she helps him with a little advice. The scripted segments are brief, cute and clever. They're followed by more extended sex segments, during which the brainy ladies continue wearing their glasses.

Majella, a librarian, reads between the lines when Dillon Day recites a love poem in her office. She pushes him onto the sofa and strips for him. Her blowjob mainly focuses on the head, but it's still very nice. After Dillon thoroughly primes her with enthusiastic oral, Majella lets him put his bookmark between her pages. A quick romp in missionary, and he leans back and pops on the tops of her feet. Gee, that's a short scene. But wait! Dillon immediately goes back for more. Impressive, especially considering he doesn't take a cutaway shot to rest and recover. After further play in missionary, they switch to doggie. Majella surprises everyone (probably including herself, judging from the giggles) by releasing a squirt onto Dillon's cock in reverse cowgirl. They finish with spooning, and Dillon's second cumshot hits one of Majella's lenses, as well as her hair and both cheeks.

Sunrise Adams, a paleontologist, demonstrates that she can handle Jay Ashley's bone. As he leans back on the bed, she strips and reveals herself as one the prettiest creatures of the Quaternary Period. He excavates her sweet hole with his tongue, and she reciprocates by repeatedly swallowing his cock all the way to its base. Jay puts a lot of energy into this scene, slamming Sunrise so hard and fast that her breasts jiggle elliptically. She lets out a small startled scream during the facial, which hits her right lens and mouth. My main complaint with this scene is that Kennedy's pouty expressions turn me off a little. I haven't seen her work before, though, and this might be her normal sexual style rather than grouchiness.

Nikita Denise, a network executive, provides Kyle Stone with a whole lot more than mindless entertainment. Kyle purposely hams like a soap opera actor during his dialog; I love his crazy faces. Nikita is the only actress in the movie who actually plays with her glasses, alternately pushing them to the top of her head and dropping them back onto her nose. The first time she did this, I was afraid she was going to take them off altogether. Not to worry--she knows what she's doing, in more ways than one. Nikita's blowjob is extremely competent; she sends Kyle's cock down her throat as easily as swallowing an aspirin. Kyle is perfectly equal to her challenge. He not only rims her during oral, he double penetrates her with three fingers vaginally and one finger anally (and also with four fingers vaginally a little bit later). Pay attention, and you'll catch him doing ass-to-mouth off his own finger. The vaginal sex in reverse cowgirl soon gives way to the movie's only anal intercourse, with lots of raunchy ass-to-mouth action from Nikita. The positions include doggie, scissors and missionary. Nikita accepts a fair amount of spanking in the scene, as well. Kyle climaxes with very minimal handwork, generously sprinkling one of Nikita's lenses plus her mouth and both cheeks.

Ann Marie, a rocket scientist, agrees to assist Tony Pounds with an experiment in electricity. (Hey guys, I don't think voltmeters give readings in millijoules, but let's not quibble.) Those of you who know me well will understand why I adore this scene. Tony treats Ann Marie to oral and finger stimulation and then uses his telescope to explore her innerspace. They test missionary, doggie, reverse cowgirl and spooning positions. He then studies the escape velocity of sperm by launching his precious cargo onto her belly. Ann Marie is very vocal during this scene, almost going over-the-top, but she's cute enough to get away with it.

Bonus question: Can you find the eye chart hanging in the background of one of the scenes?

Thumbs up: Nikita Denise. Need I say more? If you enjoy moderately nasty action, her scene alone is worth the price of this disc. There are quite a few jump edits during her dialog portion, but her exotic Czech accent is so pretty that I've forgiven her. Her sexual performance is absolutely scorching, and Kyle seems extremely turned on by her. The other four scenes are "tamer" in comparison (i.e. no anal), but each is erotic in its own way, and none is below average.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, all breasts in this movie are natural. Majella's are probably an A cup, and the others appear to be B's and C's. Augmentations don't offend me, but I really appreciate so many lovely unenhanced breasts on one DVD.

And of course, there are the glasses, which are varied in style and used to good effect in Specs Appeal 2. Four out of five cumshots hit a lens. This ratio significantly exceeds the success rate of a few other volumes in the series (according to information that I've read in other reviews).

Thumbs down: The actresses could play more with their props. It would be fun to see a lady take off her glasses and put them on the male talent for a minute or two. Or how about holding a lens in front of a breast (or her pussy or the head of his cock) to frame the view? It's great that the cum usually hits the target, but afterward it's ignored, which probably disappoints true fetishists.

I admit that I'm biased, but could we have an older actress or two in the mix, please? Ann Marie and Sunrise both do a fine job, but they are far too young to have completed the educational training for a scientific career. They seem slightly miscast as a result. I would just like to see more women in their mid to late-20s, who would add more credibility to these types of roles. Or are men overly intimidated by women who are smart and mature?
