South Beach Heat

Cast: Paul Morgan, J.T. Sloan, Dino Dimarco, Tony Cummings, Alex Powers, Dax Kelly, Hunter Ash, Antonio De Marco, Tony Reno, Michael Rivera, Scott York, Tony Brandon and Michael Chads.

This is another release by Philip St John whose Skateboard Sliders got some rave reviews. One trouble about Tribal Pulse releases is that their DVD image quality is very disappointing to a lot fans who have every reason to complain about it. Transferring analogue VHS signals to DVD digital format is a daunting task that requires huge investment in both hardware and software, plus the computer professionals with fine skills of encoding and authorizing. It’s a serious professional job that are now being contracted and done by not so qualified workshops as we all witnessed from a couple of studios such as Sunshine, Centaur Films and Tribal Pulse.

This movie is not a match to the hip hop skateboarder. I do want to point out one of the trademark of St John’s movie: the sex scene is always intense, raw and spontaneous that usually generates a lot of heat. It tries to present double penetrations more than any other directors ever attempted. In the meantime the downside is videography looks a bit amateurish, camera angles sometimes are not at where they should be. Another trademark of St John’s movie is his bizarre imagination and unusual taste in creating his weird and surreal plot. He tends to overkill in the plot and in the end he has to rush to close all the loopholes and failed to justify what he tries to accomplish.

A twist of this movie is that there is one scene where two of the actors were having unprotected sex. According to the prelude announcement, both performers are real life couple and having committed totally to each other in the relationship and they asked not to use condom. It may well be a marketing strategy, but for the folks who missed so much of pre-condom era gay porn, they may get a kick out of it.

1st Scene looks like happened in a gay bar, the voice over is all in Spanish and I don’t understand a bit. Antonio De Marco was pounding Dax Kelly’s ass like there is no tomorrow while everyone else were looking on. We all know Dax Kelly is a slut bottom and he is very good at it. While he begs even for more, J T Sloan joined the twosome and forced Dax swallow his dick. Soon he took the pounding job over from Antonio and fucked the brain out of Dax. Next comes really hot double penetration: Dax took both Sloan and Antonio’s dick with lots of scream of pain. Everyone shot a big load. The sex was no doubt hot in this scene, although it’s kind happened abruptly and with not much clue, just bang, bang, bang and done!

2nd Scene: This is the real life couple who were having sex without condom. Tony is on top while Michael is an aggressive bottom. They were making love as a couple usually do, kissing, trading blow jobs, riming and finally Tony gave Michael a big pounding in the ass. Michael came once, but Tony would not let it go and kept banging. Finally he threw Michael into the swimming pool and they attempted to do a fuck scene under water but failed apparently. Instead Michael came again in the water while swallowing Tony’s cum above water. This is a quite good scene. Both actors are very muscular though not really handsome, way too big bodies for me, but a real treat for muscle queens.

3rd Scene: Tony Cumming tried to cruise Tony Reno in a party, instead he got to play with Dino Dimarco. The sex scene between the two was really hot at first when Dimarco banged Tony’s ass relentlessly. However, soon the scene switched to another place, a painting studio where Michael Rivera and Scott York were using so-called tasty paint as lubricant to do some finger and real fucking while both of them had messy paint all over their bodies. Starting from here, the movie got more and more bizarre and off mainstream. I totally don’t understand why it makes people feel sexy when you paint a natural hot fleshed body with nasty red and green. It ruined everything that originally appealed to me. When Tony Cummings and Dimarco bump into the couple’s paint session, they also started their own paint job. Now we have two couples doing the fuck scene with their bodies in a total mess. It’s such a turn off. St John does have a weird taste towards unconventional sex. Maybe he just tries to be more creative?

4th Scene: Now we are suddenly thrown into a boat sailing in the beautiful ocean where Paul Morgan and Alec Power were giving each other blow jobs. Soon they jumped into the ocean and swam to the shore. The couple were joined by Dax Kelly and started a really hot threesome play. Both Dax and Alec rotated to screw Paul’s sweet ass while he sucked on their dicks. Finally it’s Paul’s revenge to give Dax what he deserved in his ass.

5th scene: Another perverted sex scene that can be only seen in St John’s movie. Tony Reno was seen in the bedroom pulling out a gun and started jerking off while rubbing his cock to the gun. Gun certainly can be used as a sex toy depending how you play with it. Didn’t Freud interpret that a gun in one’s dream usually represents a penis? I can imagine it being inserted to one’s butt, but rubbing this cold metal stuff to get off? I do question myself the limitation of imagination.

6th scene: this last scene is a typical case I mentioned that an overextended plot run to a dead end. It was surreal and dreamy in some way, but also clumsy, unfulfilling and does not make too much sense. It was a dream by Dax that he found Tony Reno lying on the ground unconsciously when a Cuban priest were performing some rituals. The priest actually beat off over Tony’s naked body. While around the woods, everyone that appeared in this movie earlier was jacking off. Suddenly the priest is fucking Tyler Gray from nowhere over Tony’s body, finally everyone came all over Tony. I got totally lost in the last scene.

From this movie and a couple of newer titles released by St John, I have to say “Skateboard Sliders” is a rare exception and by no means represents this director’s style. Be prepared for a lot of inconsistency among the plot, sex scenes and casting.
