The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are nicely done. The audio is clear and nicely balanced, and I don’t think I heard a single background nosie. The video is nicely presented in anamorphic widescreen, and has a kind of grey look to it that works great for the feature. There’s also a slight bit of grain, which gives the movie a more artistic feeling. There’s a little camera motion, which occasionally interfered with the action, but for a semi-pro company, Smoke Junkies 2 looks and sounds great.

Music: None

Menus: The main menu is nicely done, and contains a bit of animation for a very good first impression. The chapter menu is very basic, and lets you choose a scene based on a still from each chapter and a chapter number.

The Feature

Things pick up where Smoke Junkies left off in the middle of Bill Hicks’ worst nightmare. No, it isn’t waking up without your penis. Prohibition has returned, but this time it’s the Smoke Nazis who are in control rather than the Ladies Temperance League. As with any other banned substance, it’s moved to the black market, and some people are willing to do anything to get their fix. Some of them are even looking for the big fix to take a step up in society.

Scene 1 - McKenzie Sinclair and Jack Cole

Brunette McKenzie starts things out lying on her stomach on a bed sucking Jack’s cock while also enjoying a smoke. She continues to puff away while Jack fucks her missionary style and then rolls over so he can give it to her doggie style. McKenzie hops up to ride Jack cowgirl style before rolling back over and letting him pop across her stomach.

This is an okay scene. McKenzie seems to get into it okay, but Jack looks like he has some wood problems. The scene feels fairly short, which wasn’t a good thing, and it also didn’t quite work for me because it didn’t seem that different from a typical porn scene. It’s much brighter than the scenes in the previous episodes and the smoking and sex don’t seem as balanced out. In the end, this scene comes off as fairly average.

Scene 2 - Darla Michaels and Bailey

After complaining about how much time her dealer boyfriend Bailey spends with smoke junkies, Bailey throws dark haired Darla a couple smokes to shut her up. She quickly lights up and starts to caress her naughty parts. After watching momentarily, Bailey joins her on the bed with a kiss. He kisses his way around her neck before making his way down to show her nipples a bit of appreciation while playing with her pussy. He keeps heading south to eat Darla’s pussy before stripping down and letting her mouth his manhood as she continues to enjoy her smoke. As soon as he’s ready, Bailey fucks her from behind and then tongues her after she has an orgasm. He keeps fucking her missionary style before pulling out and giving Darla a agood load across her chest.

This is another scene that felt fairly average. Darla and Bailey have okay chemistry, and the energy is also pretty average. The smoking is there, but that’s just how it seems... there. There’s a good mix of camera angles, but I just couldn’t get into this one.

Scene 3 - Marie Madison and Mark Audess

After following Marie up to her apartment, dealer Mark blows a little smoke in her mouth before kissing her. She takes the cig away from him to take a puff and blow some back at him before kissing him passionately in the hallway. She lets Mark give her nipples a quick kiss before pulling her pants down and fucking her from behind on a stool. After a brief fuck, which looks like it might be in the ass, Mark pulls out and pops on Marie’s ass.

This is a very short scene, lasting only a few minutes. That said, it’s also a pretty hot scene. There’s a nice public sex aspect to it as well as a bit of intense passion. Mark and Marie have some nice chemistry, and make this a hot scene.

Scene 4 - Marie Madison and McKenzie Sinclaire

After making a big score, Marie and McKenzie decide to score with each other. They strip each other down and kiss their way around each other before Marie has McKenzie lay back so she can eat her out. McKenzie lights up a pair of menthol Marlboros for them, and Marie blows a little smoke around McKenzie’s pussy as she eats her. They move on to sixty-nine while smoking before Marie breaks out a strap-on to fuck McKenzie doggie and cowgirl style. Finally, they collapse together kissing and smoking.

This is a pretty good scene. Marie and McKenzie have good chemistry and move things along pretty well. The editing is a little rough, especially for the ending, but the scene moves along okay. This scene finds its way above average, and is one of the best in the movie.

Smoke Junkies 2 really fell short for me. The original Smoke Junkies came off as a depressing look at the future filled with desperate and sad people trying to get their fix in a world where smoking has been banned, but Smoke Junkies 2 just turned the smoking into a gimmick. While part of me can see Smoke Junkies 2 working better for the person has watched the other because they have a feeling for the characters in the movie, a bigger part of me thinks it’s going to fall even shorter for those people because Jack Cole is the only person in the movie who seems to be the same pathetic character. McKenzie is somehow strong and smart here, Marie looks happy and nowhere close to strung out, and even Mark comes off as being almost a nice guy who’s just misunderstood. The sex fell just as short here. If you’re a smoke fetishist, I can see it working pretty good because all of the girls smoke throughout the sex and they do try to work it into the sex rather than just puffing away. To me, that’s the biggest strength in Smoke Junkies 2. Unfortunately, it too falls short because it doesn’t manage to get the balance that made Smoke Junkies so impressive. I’ll readily admit that after watching Smoke Junkies the night before I watched this one, I couldn’t help but have really high expectations, and maybe that’s part of why Smoke Junkies 2 just couldn’t compete. Whatever the reason, Smoke Junkies 2 didn’t cure my itch.

Smoke Screen 2: The Making of Smoke Junkies 2 lasts only eleven minutes, which is a bit of a disappointment after the long behind the scenes featurette in the original Smoke Junkies. Once again, it goes from scene to scene capturing the cast working with Mark Audess and everybody else behind the camera. There’s a bit of fun on the set, and once again it’s nicely organized and has a good flow. This is a nice behind the scenes featurette, but put against the behind the scenes in the previous volume it falls a bit short.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, Marie Madison’s movies can mostly be found on her website for between about $15 and $20. I’d consider going for the VOD option here. The movie didn’t hold up well against the original in almost any way for me except for the technical aspects, which were still well done. The sex, the overall feel, and the extras all fell shy compared to the original.

Note to Marie Madison: There’s a decent idea here, but I guess everybody stumbles now and then.
