The Short Story

Initial Expectations: Lately Wicked has been doing an excellent job on their Jenna DVDs. I’m looking forward to this one!

Initial Reaction: Although I didn’t care for some of the style of how some of the sex scenes were shot, it’s still a very enjoyable movie.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody wanting a fun and light couples movie with plenty of laughs

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting to see what all Jenna can do or a bit of anal or girl - girl action

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are excellent, and better than a lot of what I see from adult films being released today. The audio is clear and well balanced, and the worst complaint I can have about it is that there are a couple areas which seem just slightly muddy (and I emphasize the word slightly). The video is just as good. There’s barely any grain, and it continues out clearly to the edge of the screen. There’s a few shadows, but they normally don’t hold things back too much.

Music: The music is very well done. It sounds like it’s straight out of the 1940s movies, and is almost always very well balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: As usual, Wicked does a decent job with the extras. The main menu nicely blends the cover with the feature while the chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a chapter number and a small clip from each scene.

The Feature

When sleazy publicist Jonathan Morgan’s ex-wife Jenna comes to Hollywood, people get worried. Jenna’s magazine, Silver Screen Confidential, has enough readers that she’s able to make or break a movie, and the last time she was out there she turned the “It Girl” into the “Was Girl”. She has her sights set on top star Davia Ardell this time, but is torn between the story she came to do and the story she’s suspecting is a bigger story that revolves around some of Jonathan’s methods.

Scene 1 - Davia Ardell and Tony Tedeschi

Davia starts things out with director Tony after he tells her what he’s looking for in the next scene. Tony works his way down to give her muff some mouthing before she plays his organ. Tony nails Davis from behind and on her back before popping on her pussy, no doubt so he doesn’t ruin her makeup for the coming scene.

This is a pretty good scene. There’s nice chemistry and energy, but the camera and editing style didn’t do much for me. It pretty much alternated between hardcore extreme closeup gyno-cam shots and distance shots that don’t really show anything. It’s still a good scene, but with a few other camera shots it could have been much better.

Scene 2 - Ariel Daye, Sindee Coxx, and Jonathan Morgan

Redhead Ariel and blonde Sindee show up at Jonathan’s office willing to do anything for a movie contract. Sindee sucks Jonathan’s joystick before he slides it into Ariel’s snatch. Sindee plays her way between them before letting Jonathan take care of her from behind on the couch. He works his way between the ladies as they lay on each other before blowing his nutty goodness between their tits.

This is another decent scene. The girls work great with Jonathan, and play nicely off each other, but it doesn’t go nearly as far as I’d like. The interaction between the ladies never gets further than a little caressing, and I’m not sure they even kiss. For a group scene to be really good for me there has to be better interaction than that. Once again the style of the camera work and editing also held things back, but it’s still quite a bit above average.

Scene 3 - Jenna Jameson and T. T. Boy

After a few tall tales, reporter Jenna gets it on with Jungle Jim, aka T. T. Boy. She hops on his lap and fingers her pussy while they kiss, and then drops to her knees to swing her mouth around his vine. She doesn’t bother letting T. T. warm her up, and instead goes directly to riding him in the cameraman favorite reverse cowgirl. They keep things going doggie style before T. T. gives Jenna a nice pop across her mouth.

This is a nicely done scene. Jenna really shines here, and plays great off of T. T.’s cornball Jungle Jim character. Yes, it has some of the same faults here, but it isn’t quite as bad. This is a fun and hot scene.

Scene 4 - Davia Ardell and Jonathan Morgan

Jonathan and Davia get it on when Jonathan comes by to apologize to her in an attempt to get Jenna’s interview. She sucks him before climbing up to ride him cowgirl style. Jonathan takes a little control in doggie before popping on Davia’s face.

This is another nicely done scene. Davia and Jonathan play off each other extremely well, and keep the scene moving nicely. It’s also captured very well, and works out to be a nicely enjoyable scene.

Scene 5 - Chelsea Blue, Paul Cox, and T. T. Boy

Paul and T. T. try to take care of Chelsea’s worries about her husband finding out about her infidelity by double teaming her. She sucks Paul while T. T. goes directly to drilling her from behind. Paul takes his turn missionary style before Chelsea has them DP her cowgirl style. Finally Chelsea finishes things up taking a great double facial.

This is an excellent scene and holds its own against both of Jenna’s scenes! Chelsea starts things out with some nice acting and then does just as good a job sexually. She looks great here, and takes the DP like a champ. My only complaint about this scene is that it didn’t last longer.

Scene 6 - Jenna Jameson and Peter North

Jenna and Peter start off with some nice kissing before he moves his mouth down to kiss her lower lips. Jenna returns Peter’s oral favors with no shortage of interest before they movie through a bit of doggie and spooning. Finally, Jenna finishes things up with one of her normal great facials.

This is a great scene to finish things up with, and easily the better of Jenna’s two scenes! I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed with a Peter / Jenna pairing, and this one is no different. They keep things moving very nicely and put some great chemistry and energy into the scene. This is a perfect scene to finish things up with!

Silver Screen Confidential is an extremely enjoyable adult film. The story is nicely done, and has a lot of fun making fun of Hollywood and everything about it. I laughed out loud several times at the lines the cast had to give, and can only imagine how much fun they had making the movie. As usual, Jonathan excels with Jace Rocker’s script, and shows once again why they’re one of the best comedy teams in the adult industry, if not the best. It’s helped out quite a bit by the costumes and music, which go a very long way in making the movie feel natural. The sex is also good, but I didn’t care much for the style of the camera work and editing. Most of the sex scenes seem to be a mix of extreme close-ups (normally gyno-cam shots) and extreme distance shots. It’s rare to see both the penetration and the girl’s reaction. This is most prevalent in the first couple scenes, but sticks around for later in the movie as well. Thankfully, that’s as close as I can come to a complaint about Silver Screen Confidential, and I know for many people they won’t even have this complaint. Even though I was a bit frustrated at times with it, I can’t deny that I really enjoyed Silver Screen Confidential.

The Extra Stuff

Once again, Wicked has put a lot of effort into one of their final Jenna DVDs. There’s extended sex scenes, bloopers, and plenty of photo galleries. There’s also plenty of the usual stuff. Trailers are included for XXX Training, Heat, Hercules, Falling From Grace, and Bordello Blues. There’s also promotional materials, DVD-ROM stuff, and a commercial for the Free Speech Coalition.

The blooper reel is surprisingly long. I guess this shouldn’t come as a surprise with Jonathan Morgan on the set, but I would have never expected it to run nearly fifteen minutes. There’s plenty of flubbed lines as well as showing you the fun that mother nature can cause on a set. It’s a fun group of extras, although by the end of it you might be wondering how they ever managed to make the entire movie. Of course, with the way the movie is you also might wonder how they trimmed the blooper reel down to fifteen minutes.

There are also a ton of photo galleries, each of which gives you about six seconds per nice looking snapshot or full screen gallery. As usual with Wicked, there’s a feature photo gallery which lasts over three minutes and a behind the scenes gallery which lasts nearly two minutes. There’s also star galleries for Jenna Jameson, Davia Ardell, and Sindee Coxx lasting between a minute and a quarter and two minutes, as well as star stats on the ladies including a few photos, a link to their scene, and a little personal information.

Extended Scene 1 - Jenna Jameson and Peter North

Jenna’s extended scene with Peter lasts nearly twenty minutes, and unlike most of Wicked’s extended Jenna scenes, has a little music in the background. There’s nothing really new for the scene, although the longer length makes it much nicer. Nothing feels rushed, and the scene seems to have a much better pace than before. This is an ever better version of a great scene, and my only complaint about it is that I couldn’t choose between watching this version and the original version in the movie.

Extended Scene 2 - Jenna Jameson and T. T. Boy

The extended scene between Jenna and T. T. lasts roughly fifteen minutes, and once again has a little music in the background. This version of the scene also feels far superior, although it doesn’t include anything vastly different or any new positions. The original felt a little rushed, and this one feels a bit more natural. I think there’s also a couple other angles thrown in as well, rather than just letting the original cuts go on a bit longer. The biggest difference here is that you see Jenna starting to crack up at the end of the facial and hear her laughing in the background as T. T. beats his chest in the background. The last second or two of Jenna seems like it would be better for the blooper reel, but other than that this is a far superior cut of the scene.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Wicked’s DVDs can be found online for between $15 and $30 with many stores offering them for around $21. This one’s well worth the money! The sex lacked a little in places due to the style, but everything else about the movie is excellent. The movie’s a lot of fun, the technical aspects are great, and there’s plenty of extras. Check this one out!

Note to Wicked Pictures: You did a very nice job here, but a few more chapter breaks would have been really nice.
