Silk Stockings (Digital Playground) Review

The Plot: First, let me say that they did a good job on the opening credit sequence. I just wish it carried throughout the film. Alexandra Silk is writing a book about fetishes, and today she's researching stockings. This is really just an excuse to show us lots long legs in sheer stockings, and of people having sex with stockings. The format is very simple to understand: Alexandra is shown doing something mundane and you can hear her say something about stockings that is supposed to be insightful. We then cut to some completely unrelated venue, where two people have sex to some lousy synthoporn music. Simple, but effective.

The Cast: Starring Alexandra Silk, Shay Sweet, Emily Jewel, Kelsey Hart, C.K. Blade, Allysin Chaynes, Claudia Chase, Ian Daniels, Billy Glide and Mark. Pretty average porn stars, in my opinion. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about porn stars to recognize most of them on sight, so I had to guess who was performing in what scene. Allysin Chaynes and Alexandra Silk were easy to pick out, but that's about it. I also seem to have one more female performer in the credits than I do in the scenes, which I can't quite figure out...

The Sex: We start our first sex scene with a featureless white room and a young couple, who proceed to have sex on a black stool in the middle of the room. It's a pretty standard scene. Oral, oral, sex in position one, sex in position two, and cumshot. The lady involved (whom I THINK is Shay Sweet) wears hot red stockings, which she keeps for the whole scene. She also has a tongue stud with a good 1/2-inch of metal sticking up, and trimmed bush that is more like an eyebrow than actual pubic hair. She doesn't seem to get into the act until her partner gets around to oral sex. She seemed to have a rather bored expression up until he did something right. After he licks her, she warms up and gets vocal, and she keeps it up while he's pounding away. Her partner has a prominent scar on his abdomen, complimented by a fairly hefty dick. Puberty was kind to him. Although she seems to be having fun once she's actually got dick, this scene was pretty uninspired. That and the porno synthobeat will be stuck in my head for a long time.

Our narrator does a little of every trucker's fantasy, and starts to masturbate while driving a BMW down the highway. Just to note, she drives too slow, but I'll forgive her. :)

Next up: Bondage Lesbians From the Planet Zoron! Just kidding. Emily Jewel and Kelsey Heart have a D/S scene with a collar and chain that is pretty good. (Alas, I can't tell which of these girls is which, because Digital Playground, in its infinite wisdom, didn't make the opening credits match up with the scenes they were showing, or have credits with clues in them. I am making my guess based on the credits being in appearance order. If I'm wrong, sue me.) Anyhow, in the Master/Slave relationship here, we have two very pretty and well stacked blondes having a good time. Actually, the master blonde has a set of fake tits that are just... wrong. They're not super huge, they're just inflated to the point that gravity will not affect them. Hell, her own hands don't seem to be able to move them either. A good close-up of these mounds of metal reveals the surgery scars. Bad boob job. It appears that the slave is more into girls than the master is. The master does the "painting the fence" routine by just using the tip of her tongue when licking the slave, but when the slave is doing the work, she gets down and puts her whole face into it. I must also note that the slave gets much better reactions out of her partner. There is some light tapping with the riding crop, and out comes the transparent double-ended dildo! The slave sticks it to the master good & hard, and then proceeds to blow one end while working the master with the other. Good stuff. The slave then hops on top for a reverse cowgirl on the dildo. This is a pretty good scene. I wish they had used the riding crop a bit more, but hey, we have more sex to see!

Hmm... What do we have next? Why, no treatise on stockings would be complete without mentioning stockings in the workplace. How should we demonstrate the effectiveness of a good set of stockings in the work environment? Should we show the power of stockings over the boss's libido? Should we watch a young starlet bending over by the copy machine? Of course not. We should instead show Alysin Chaynes playing the working lady who comes home to a doting boyfriend who offers to rub her feet after a long day at work. The foreplay is actually pretty sensual, with lots of tenderness, a foot massage (with lotion), some gentle disrobing, and lots of kissing. There's even more of the foot-fetish stuff this time around than usual. Strangely enough, after taking off her stockings so carefully, he pulls out a purple pair of stockings from under the couch (isn't that where everybody keeps them?) and put them on before they continue. I guess purple was better than the peach color she started with. She then dons the rest of the outfit (a very see-through top) and she gives him a blowjob. It takes him a while to get up to full size, but by the end, he seems to be doing fine. We kind of fade in to the two of them having sex doggie style, and while she seems to be enjoying it, he looks like he could care less. The weird part about this scene is the Amazing Disappearing Condom, which he starts out with, but loses by the time he finishes and cums on her chest. Not a bad scene, but it makes you wonder. I have a nagging suspicion that somebody was swapped in & out somewhere, but I can't prove it.

Next up: A nice young couple (dammit, I wish I knew who these people are! I think she's Claudia Chase, but I honestly don't know.) comes home from a night on the town, and they proceed to have sex in the kitchen. This is, IMHO, the best scene in the film. They look and sound like they're having a good time. Some pretty good chemistry at work here. They move the clothes aside and do some hand manipulation, which works pretty well. After fingering her on the counter for bit, she gives him an energetic blowjob, looking up at him with big eyes... Very nice. We cut to the penetration shot, which is always a bonus in my book. After some doggy style, we cut very briefly to some missionary and then he pulls out and douses her face. A pretty good scene, but I would have preferred some longer shots with the two of them in their entirety, instead of just close-ups of his balls swinging back and forth. The missionary portion, while much shorter, was done much better. I personally think this is the best scene on the disc.

Lastly, Alexandra Silk (our narrator, if you recall) dresses up for her man and proceeds to strut around for him. She's wearing a push-up bra, panties, stockings and heels, and it's in a beautiful midnight blue & black combination. It looks pretty good on her, but she needs more practice in heels. She does right well in the sex department, though. He doesn't waste too much time in eating her out, they don't even bother to remove the clothing. Once he's done with that, he rips the stockings right off of her and she gives him a blowjob. The stockings make a nice ripping sound when they go. He fucks her doggie style on the couch for a bit, with lots of pulling out and penetrating again. She tenses up a lot during sex so her whole body moves when he pulls her tight. She sits on his cock for some reverse cowgirl action. They switch to missionary, and she starts to look like she's being tortured. She grabs her hair a bit, and starts to thrash as he moves it around. A lot of stop & start action here, and it looks like it drives her nuts. Pretty cool. He pulls out and comes on her feet. Yes, on her feet. Actually, this is kind of a welcome change from your typical porn scene.

The Audio / Image: The image is not bad. Not great, but it doesn't look like a VHS master. There is some reasonably nice use of light & shadow. The first scene is lit like it was in an operating room. The all-white background must have been murder to shoot in, and you can see the automatic iris on the camera making adjustments depending on how much of the screen is filled with flesh. Mildly distracting. Colors seem a little warm, but it's nothing objectionable.

The sound is in 5.1!!! This is cool! Full discrete sound with an LFE channel! Doesn't that sound like fun? Don’t get your hopes up. It is a completely unused feature. I cranked the volume and could detect absolutely nothing coming from the surround channels, and my sub didn't even tickle. Other than the lack of hearing a cumshot go "splut" behind you with the force of a cannon, the sound was actually not bad. The synthoporn is pretty obnoxious, and you can hear where somebody must have set the thing on repeat and left it. You don't even get a break, it just loops back to the beginning and the scene continues. The 5.1 sound really benefits by moving the dialogue (what little there is) into the center speaker(s), which on my system outshines my left & right speakers.

The Extras: I have to say that Digital Playground has one of the coolest logo animations I've seen in a while. Okay, it's not a reason to buy a disc, but I thought it was nifty. Scene access, a photo collection to click through, and a slide show, which is the photo collection on auto. There is also a strip poker game for DVD-ROM, which I was unable to test out. There is also a looping code in the playback so that the movie automatically starts over when you reach the end.

The Good: If you're a leg man, like myself, there are some great images of long legs in sweet stockings. If you're a foot fetish kind of person, you'll love it.

The Bad: No plot, no extras, average sex, and annoying music.

Overall: If you like long legs & stockings, this is a good one to have. If you have a thing for feet, this is a good buy. Otherwise, I would pass.
