The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are okay. The audio is pretty well balanced and clear, but there are some very noticeable background noises. The video is presented in the full frame format, and looks a bit old. There's a touch of grain but the lighting is very nicely done throughout the movie.

Music: There's a little music in the background throughout the entire movie. It has a slightly ominous feeling, and works for the entire movie very nice.

Menus: The main menu is okay, and blends a bit of generic animation with a couple stills from the movie. The chapter menu is extremely generic and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Every now and then you see people fall into a good thing. Here, Anthony Crane and Ernest Greene fall into a nice deal on a large house. It suits them particularly well as they have a few kinks that most neighbors aren't too sure about.

Scene 1 – Sydnee Steele and Anthony Crane

Ashley escorts in hot brunette Sydnee dressed all in black with thigh high boots, bra and panties, and a transparent shirt that hangs open. After a couple works with him she rests her legs on him and puts a collar on him. She has him worship her boots before putting cuffs on his wrists, chaining them together, and then flogging his back as he bends over a stool. The scene moves along at a very nice pace and does a very nice job mixing things up as it goes. This is a very enjoyable scene with some nice chemistry and variety.

Scene 2 – Ashley Renee and Ernest Greene

When busy brunette Ashley, who's looking very nice in a black corset, seems to get a touch bored sitting around with Ernest in the bedroom, he decides to try passing the time with a little blue rope. He ties Ashley up and has her get on her knees on the bed so he can flog her ass. This is another very nice scene. Ashely looks to be very into the bondage scene, and as usual, Ernest comes off as somebody who's very knowledgeable and who has great respect for his partner's limits. This leads to some nice chemistry, and once again I was really happy to see that the action was a bit mixed up. This scene worked for me quite well.

Scene 3 – Shayla LaVeaux and Sydnee Steele

When Sydnee sounds interested in a tour of the grounds, Shayla offers her the “special tour”. Soon after they're both done up in some sexy fetishwear with Sydnee going with a red and black outfit while Shayla sticks to straight black with studs. Shayla cuffs Sydnee to a carriage and flogs her ass before letting her loose and flogging her pussy from the front. She gives Sydnee a hardness for her head with a plume and blinders and has her lead Shayla around in her carriage. When they get back where they started, Shayla hangs some weights off Sydnee's nipples and has her lead her around again. This is another hot scene. Once again there's some very nice chemistry between the players and it comes off with a fun feel. It mixes things up nicely and moves along, and although there's only a few licks for actual sex, it works very well. This is yet another hot and enjoyable scene.

Scene 4 – Petra and Randi Rage

Brunette Petra starts things off only in boots and ankle cuffs kneeling at Randi's feet, who's wearing some dark blue nippleless fetishwear, black fishnets, and lace-up dress boots. She climbs onto Randi's lap to let her spank her with her hand and a paddle before staying on all fours and letting Randi flog her ass. This was easily the weakest scene in the movie. There's some okay chemistry between the girls, but it also seemed very limited in the action compared to the others. The girls play their roles pretty well, but there just wasn't as much interaction or the more fun feeling here for this scene that was in the others. This was a pretty average scene.

Shayla's House of Bondage is an enjoyable bondage movie that leaves me with some slightly mixed feelings. Sexually, the movie is very well done. Okay, this isn't sex like most think as there isn't a lot of caressing, fingering, fucking, or even kissing. Instead there's flogging, spanking, foot worship, and other kinks. Those kinks can be very hit or miss, but here Ernest Greene works them to a solid hit due to performers who look like they're really enjoying themselves in their roles. Sydnee does a fantastic job starting dominant in her first scene and turning submissive for her second, and really comes off as the star of the movie for me. That brings me to the negative part, which is Shayla. Shayla was a big draw when this title came out, and she still has some very well earned and devoted fans. She does a nice job for her one scene here, but to feature her so prominently on the cover and in the title only to have her in just one scene in the movie and barely any of the setup sequences just seems wrong! The movie isn't about Shayla, it's about Ernest and Anthony. Now I can understand not naming the movie after them so it doesn't sound like gay porn, but to name the movie after Shayla just doesn't seem right. Shayla's House of Bondage is a pretty hot bondage movie, just don't expect to see much of Shayla LaVeaux in it.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Bizarre DVDs can be found online for between $14 and $28 with most stores offering them for over $20. This one’s definitely worth the low end. The scenes have an obvious feeling of enjoyment which really worked for me and some nice variety. The technical aspects are pretty good, but as usual virtually no effort is put towards the extras.
