Shane's World 19: Tropical Paradise Review

The first time I watched Shane's World 19 I was recovering from an extremely nasty case of salmonella (hint: if that chicken doesn't taste right, don't eat it), but I have nothing but pleasant thoughts of this DVD. I was so violently ill at the time that getting an erection was about as remote a possibility as me being picked to join Shane's next sexual travelogue. Yet, I found myself enjoying this edition in her long running series not just for the sex, but because it's interesting. That's right, thought provoking porn that reveals more about it's performers than what their genitals look like close up. Ostensibly, this is a long x- rated home movie featuring a cast of pornstars in Key West, but it comes across as more of a true documentary.

Shane does not appear at all on camera, in sex scenes or anywhere else. But this is still her movie all the way through, and with it she takes a giant leap forward in pornography. Kind of like when The Beatles made Revolver--a great artist taking the next step. There's lots of silliness here--it wouldn't be Shane's World without some general goofiness--but it's more serious minded than her other features. Watch the included interviews before the actual movie, as I did, and you'll set the tone for a really enlightening 2 hours. Any suspicions that people in the adult world have nothing in common with the rest of us will instantly be put to rest.

Of course there are differences between them and us (or at least me). For instance, they have more sex by 10:00 a.m. than some armies have all day. Charmaine Star and Chris Cannon are the firsts to get things going. After taking a walk to the beach they start a three-way with Halli Aston who, for some reason excuses herself before things get good. And they do get good. Later she tells us on the commentary track that she was keeping an eye on the large crowd of people who were watching from not very far away. Considering someone with a body like Charmaine Star's is getting pounded in broad daylight on a Key West beach, I'm surprised Castro himself didn't make the trip by boat to take a peek.

Cheyenne Silver and Vivian Valentine both have a fantasy of getting fucked real hard in the rain, and thanks to a storm and Cannon's unrestrained erection, their fantasies comes true. This may be the best scene on the disc as a wet Silver lets herself go, even screaming out that this is the best sex she's ever had. You don't hear that very often (at least I don't), and given everyone's complete honesty throughout the trip, I doubt there's much exaggeration.

While on a all day pleasure cruise on a privately chartered boat everyone gets some action: Cheyenne gives an encore performance with Cannon's still-hard dick, Charmaine offers her pussy up to Eric Everhard's mouth, and eventually Cheyenne finishes Cannon off and steals Everhard away for a lengthy and hot scene in some shallow water just off the beach of a small island. I have a hard time understanding how a girl like her can look so unbelievably beautiful, be so completely sexual, and remain innocent looking. Stephen Hawking, himself, couldn't formulate a theory sound enough to explain it.

And there's so much more. Halli and Vivian Valentine making the most of a cramped shower, and a late night orgy hosted by the entire cast, almost. Shane's World 19 is the very best kind of adult entertainment--hot and plentiful.

I wonder how many people bother to read the entire length of a porn review, but there's so much more to write about. The included interviews, for example. It's amazing what people will reveal about themselves late at night when they've been deprived of sleep. Shane finds out here. And there's a commentary track that's fun to listen to. Aston and Valentine serve as our narrators as they recall the trip and offer their opinions of everyone involved. I would have preferred Shane included here, but it's still good stuff. An unrelated bonus scene is thrown in, a good chunk of "lost" footage, a bunch of trailers I haven't seen before, biographies, a photo gallery, and a funny little commercial bit thrown in for the hell of it. You get the idea. There's a lot of stuff on this disc, and all of it's good.

At the risk of sounding like a shill, get a hold of this DVD. Eat ramen noodles for a few days if you have to. Shane respected her audience enough to pack it with quality porn; any true adult fan should respect himself enough to watch it.
