Initial Expectations: So far this has been a very good gonzo series on well done DVDs. I’m hoping this episode has the same quality as the others.

Initial Reaction: It’s style falls nicely between the first two in the series. It’s definitely a keeper.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of the Sex Across America series, Shane’s World , and other fun gonzo porn

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody looking for extremely hardcore sex or a plot

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very quiet and a little bit muffled and uneven. For gonzo porn it’s fairly good, but it does have some of the normal gonzo faults. The video also has a few minor faults. It’s slightly grainy and there’s a slight bit of pixelation in places. Neither the audio or video is problematic enough to interfere with the feature, but you are going to have to up the volume when you’re watching.

Music: The music varies a little in style through the feature, but stays nicely balanced with the rest of the audio.

Menus: As usual, this episode of Sex Across America has its menus tailored to the city it’s focusing on. Thankfully they chose trolleys and houses that are really close together rather than guys in miniskirts with crabs (you know, because they’d be a Fisherman’s Wharf). It’s another nicely done menu but it isn’t as animated as the menu in Sex Across America Second Stop: New Orleans , which was my favorite in the series.

The Feature: As usual, Luc Wylder and Alexandra Silk introduce the viewer to the feature. They talk about the city and the cast, giving a little background to the feature. Once again, Alexandra has great enthusiasm for the feature, which gives it quite a bit of soul. In between scenes, the group tours San Francisco.

Jay Ashley starts things out right away with Aurora Snow, who Alexandra tells us has never had sex on camera before. Aurora is a cute brunette with a very natural body and Jay is a very average looking guy with a crew cut and a pierced tongue and nipple. He seemed like all he’d need to be ready for Halloween would be a little green paint and a couple bolts on his neck. Aurora comes off as a little unsure and nervous, but still anxious to fuck. It’s the first time I’ve seen Luc in an actual scene and he foes a very good job. Luc and Joel each take an end of Alexandra and switch back and forth a couple times. Once again, Luc Wylder and Alexandra Silk succeed with Sex Across America #3: San Francisco . It has a nice laid-back feel (pun intended) and still gives a nice little taste of San Francisco. The sex ranges from average, with Nefertiti and Joel Lawrence, to extremely hot with both of Christi Lake’s scenes. It’s a nice series that should satisfy most people.

Extras: Many of the standard extras are included as well as a behind the scenes featurette. Bios are included for Alexandra Silk, Aurora Snow, Christi Lake, and Nefertiti. Each girl wrote a short little autobiographical piece that’s kind of nice. It’s definitely a heck of a lot better than the “This whore really loves to take it in every hole as you watch” type of bio that some lesser companies seem to be using lately. It also includes a link to the star’s scene.

There’s also a slide show consisting of forty pictures. The pictures are spread out over two screens in thumbnail form and then you pick them from there. The pictures are then done as snapshots with captions alongside the performers to identify them. This is a great way to do a photo gallery and I think it’s my favorite style. The only thing that might be done to improve it is to have an auto-scroll option where the people who like to see the pictures change every few seconds can have that occur. Otherwise, it’s dang near perfect.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts an amazing forty five minutes. It shows some of the screwing around during the shoots as well as some of the things that didn’t make it into the feature. A little bit duplicated is duplicated from the feature, but it’s normally included in more of an extended scene here or from a different angle because somebody from the crew gets into a shot. Some of the additional scenes include Luc panning around to give a view of some of San Francisco’s scenery, such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, as well as checking out some of San Francisco’s other sites. One of the best scenes is Alexandra doing a hilarious bit playing around as a prostitute with “Me love you long time”. To finish it off there’s a few flubbed interviews with Luc that are a lot of fun. It’s a very good behind the scenes that does a great job of mixing behind the scenes with extra footage.

Overall: Currently Sex Across America - Third Stop: San Francisco can be found online for between $13 and $21 with all but two stores offering it for over $20. At the low end, this should be on every gonzo-lovers porn shelf. At this price, anybody interested should also give it a try. It’s a fun gonzo feature that mixes a taste of the featured city with some great sex. The technical aspects are well done as is the behind the scenes featurette and other extras.

Note to Fallen Angel / Adam & Eve: This is a great series that keeps me looking forward to more. The behind the scenes is a nice addition and helps to make this a great all around DVD.
