Synopsis:
A group of friends, Carry (Mélanie Coste), Wendy (Léa de Mae), Cindy (Tiffany Diamond), Skip (Titof), Mike (Phil Hollyday) and Gus (Damien Roussineau), go to visit their friend Jason (Phillippe Dean), who is having a hard time due to the recent passing of his grandparents. He is staying in their old mansion, which used to be a brothel known as The House of the Seven Deadly Sins. While there the women start being overcome by sexual urges and the couples start disappearing.

Audio/Video:
The feature film is presented with it's original French 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround track, which sounds excellent and is full of life. Also included on the disc is a dubbed English 2.0 Stereo track, which isn't as lively as the French track, but still perfectly acceptable. The dubbing for the English track is well done and shouldn't disappoint the viewer. The dialog is clear and can be heard at all times during the presentation. Marc Dorcel hasn't included any other foreign language tracks or any subtitle options for the feature film. The disc packaging lists German and Spanish language tracks and Swedish, Danish and Portuguese subtitles that aren't present on the disc.

The Scent of Desire is presented in the anamorphic widescreen ratio of approximately 1.78:1, which appears to be the original aspect ratio for the feature film. As with the other Marc Dorcel/Wicked titles that I have seen, the picture is impeccable, featuring a crystal clear picture free from artifacts, blemishes or glitches of any sort. The color levels are correctly set, and combined with the anamorphic picture, making this one excellent looking disc.

Special Features:
The only extra included on the disc are trailers for Marta, trésors intimes, Néon, club privé, Girls Paradise, and the feature film Le parfum du désir (The Scent of Desire). The disc packaging also lists that biographies and a photo gallery are also contained on the disc, but I couldn't find them anywhere.

Disc Design/Navigation:
The disc is designed with beautiful, but simple, animated menus with background music. There are seven chapters available from the chapter menu. Each one is identified by a still frame from where the chapter goes to. There are nine chapters within the feature film itself. There is a time code encoded on the disc for the feature film.

General Review:
The Scent of Desire is the U.S. release by Wicked Pictures of the Marc Dorcel film Le parfum du désir. This release appears to be the same as disc one of the two disc Marc Dorcel French release for the same title, which means that the release is scant on extras, but does provide a beautiful version of the film.

The film is a feature and although the plot doesn't ever fulfill its full potential, it is still an enjoyable film. The film has a generally creepy feel throughout, but instead of being a gothic horror style film, which is what the film sets up, it ends up edging away from that and going for a cheesy ending, which is a let down, but doesn't ruin the film. The cast, both male and female, are above average in this film and are a nice change from the typical American looking adult stars. Neither male nor female viewers should be disappointed in the cast selection here.

What the film lacks in plot it makes up for in the sex scenes as they are excellent in this film. From the arty opening scene with Mélanie Coste and Pascal St. James, which features background music which sounds strangely reminiscent of Pink Floyd's “Shine on You Crazy Diamond,” to the extremely hot finale scene with Mélanie Coste, Monica Sweetheart and Phillippe Dean, none of the scenes in the film disappoint. Although some of the scenes contain some nastier acts, they are done in a softer way which should make them fully accessible to couples viewers. The sexual themes in the film are vaginal and anal sex with pussy eating, blow jobs, DP, female masturbation, hand jobs, showering, and lesbianism. For viewers that care about condom use, with the exception of a couple seconds in one of the scenes, condoms are used in all of the sex scenes in the film.

The visual styling of the film is excellent. The film is beautifully shot and features some excellent locations. The locations fit the film perfectly, with a nice combination of interior and exterior scenes. The indoor locations fit the film, instead of resembling your standard adult film indoor sets. The way the film is shot, it visually resembles a mainstream film more than an adult video, which should make the film more accessible to couples viewers.

Scene Synopsis:
The first scene brings us Mélanie Coste and Pascal St. James and the scene starts out with Pascal going over Mélanie's body for a little. Then Pascal goes down for some pussy eating before the two go into some vaginal sex. There is no cum shot to end the scene and it continues again in scene three. The second scene gives us Léa de Mae and Titof and starts out with Léa giving Titof a blow job. Then the two go into some vaginal sex. Léa returns to giving Titus a blow job before they go back to the vaginal sex. To end the scene, Titof cums on Léa's thigh.

The third scene brings us Méanie Coste and Pascal St. James again and is a continuation of the first scene. The scene starts out where the first scene left off with some vaginal sex. There is no cumshot to end the scene. The fourth scene features Sheherazade and Ian Scott. Sheherazade starts the scene out by masturbating before Ian joins in and starts eating her pussy. Then Philippe continues with some vaginal sex while Monica gives Marc a blow job. To end the scene, one cums on her chest and the other cums on her back.

The seventh scene brings us Léa de Mae and Titof and Léa starts the scene out by giving Titof a blow job. Then they go into the vaginal sex. To end the scene, Titof cums on Léa's thigh. The eighth scene gives us Valentina Valli, Mia Panther and Titus Steele. Parting Thoughts:
Although the plot for The Scent of Desire never quite reaches its full potential, the sex in the film is incredibly hot and the film looks absolutely beautiful. The sex is tame enough that most couples audiences shouldn't have a problem with it and the movie visually resembles a mainstream film more than an adult video. If you've liked other titles from Marc Dorcel or like a plot-based adult film with excellent production values, it's hard to go wrong with this title. Viewers that require nasty sex or hate a plot with their porn will probably want to pass on this.
