Santa Monica Place Review

As one who is fond of “old” films I would certainly have remembered this one if I had seen it years ago on VHS. It has some minor stars that I find attractive (and one whom I did not know but intend to check out) and has enough plot to carry things along nicely. It is filled with hot sex and is also excellently photographed. For me it is a find!

The plot is simple but effective. It’s sort of a gay Melrose Place. Hot guys move in and are warmly accepted. It opens with Greg Erickson hoping to move in. I never saw this performer before but he’s cute (or was since this is an old film remastered for DVD). He has thick black hair, a winsome smile, and a perky bum. He informs the assistant manager Tanner Reeves that he’s just moved to the city and has a job, but his credit is poor. Tanner offers to let Greg stay with him until he can get the manager to okay him as a tenant. Greg is so happy he gets it on with Tanner then and there, letting the older stud bang his bum. When they are in post-coital mode, Tanner tells Greg that he has always has the hots for Wade’s (Devyn Foster’s) boyfriend Kyle Davis.

We cut to the bedroom of Devyn and Kyle. Devyn is in bed and Kyle emerges from the shower wearing only a towel. I’ve always found Devyn with his sultry looks to be a very sexy dude. Kyle—who is new to me—is absolutely gorgeous. Here was a pretty American twink to rank with any of those beauties found at Bel Ami. He crawls up into the bed and goes down on Devyn. (It was the one disappointment in the film that after setting up this prop it was never put to use.) Tanner removes Scott’s towel and drops to his knees to give the handsome youth a proper welcome.

A threesome results with Scott on his knees taking both cocks. I find the scene particularly erotic because Devyn and Scott are so similar they could be brothers (or a at least kissing cousins) so it has that aura of incest about it. It culminates in Devyn screwing Scott.

In most films the action would end here after the now obligatory four scenes. But we have another treat in store for us. There’s more to cum…uh, come. Curt Steel (another performer I had not seen before) is down in the laundry room reading a gay paper. Curt is blond and somewhat resembles an earlier version of Billy Brandt. Kyle the beautiful boy from scene two arrives to do his laundry. He strips down to his plaid boxers tossing everything else into the machine. He sees what Curt is reading and asks Curt if he’s seen Kyle’s ad. When Curt reads it he tells Kyle that he would like to see if there’s truth in advertising. The action in the sex scenes may be a bit slow by today’s standards, but when I have nice eye candy to look at I’m not in any hurry. Although I knew and liked some of these performers and thought it would be nice to see them again, I didn’t expect too much. As a result I was more than pleasantly entertained. Finding a cutie like Kyle Davis also made it worth my time. I'm glad its on DVD otherwise I would have missed it. I think you may be glad, too.
