Overall Impression
This is the first Digital Playground film I have taken a chance on since being disappointed by "Island Fever". Generally I stay away from porn that is as plot driven as "Rush", but it has been a while since I've seen Devon so here we are.

As far as couple friendly features go this one is pretty good, and it has a few things going for it. Mainly Devon! I have to say it is refreshing to see a movie where the girl on the boxcover really does star in the movie. Devon is in 3 of the 5 sex scenes. Avy Scott and Jezebelle Bond pair up for a girl/girl scene, and the stunning Alexa rounds out the female cast. This is a very good looking DVD through and through. The ratio is widescreen, which I am very happy to see more companies embracing. The picture quality is truly outstanding, which only enhances this extremely slick and professional looking pornographic production.

I do have some complaints however. The camera work is decent for the most part, but personally I would have liked to have seen some angles that showed off Devon's physique a little more. As a porn viewer I like to see some point of view shots mixed into the edit. I'm not saying I need total POV like you see in the virtual sex titles with the girl staring directly into the camera, but I felt like I was always looking at the side of Devon's face throughout most of the movie. Like I was watching the film as a third person from the corner of the room. Once again I'm not saying I need to feel like Barrett Blade (although I bet he feels dam good at that moment in time), but a peek directly over his should from time to time would provide a welcome view of Devon fabulous form. Also some of the sex scenes are a little on the short side.

Plot
There is a reason I don't gravitate towards plot driven porn. If I am going to watch a story driven by dialogue and character acting there are a lot of better places to find it than in your typical skin flick. I will give Nick Andrews this, that in comparison to most plot driven porn he does a very admirable job. Devon delivers a surprisingly good acting performance as well as the rest of the cast, but compared to mainstream film it is still a far cry from reaching the same caliber.

The plot is loosely based on the film "Get Carter". Basically an ex-con returns only to stir up trouble, dragging a troubled call girl into his world of mayhem. The back of the box sells it as follows:

"An escaped convict looking for a second chance.
A call girl with an uncertain future.
In the twinkling of an eye, their lives collided with the force of an oncoming freight train.
Now all that stands between them and their wildest dreams are 20 hired killers, 50 cops, and a couple thousand bullets."

Scene 1 Alexa Rae
In this scene we are introduced to a lollipop sucking Alexa who is about to get it on with the slimey grease monkey played by Mike Horner. The music drowns out most of the sounds of sex, but not completely. If this scene works it is because Alexa is just plain hot. The sex is fairly "vanilla" for the most part.

Scene 2 Devon
Barrett's character Carter decides to order up some female companionship from a flyer he found. He soon finds Devon (playing a call girl named Sera) at his door, looking ever so fine. Being a professional Sera runs down her rates "$200 for head, $400 for sex, for $600 you can pretty much do whatever you want with me, you can fuck my ass, you can cum in my face, you don't even need to wear a condom." Sadly Carter either decides not to spend the $600 or isn't interested in anal or cumming on her face. Anyway they get down to business quickly. Devon looks great and the sex is decent, but very little heat seems to transfer from the performers on to the screen. After a few positions he pops on her ample bosoms.

Scene 3 Devon
After an argument with Carter Sera tries to find a ride, so she trades services with a mechanic. Devon delivers a nice blowjob to get things started, and I have to say she looked hot as hell on her knees about to bust out of her clothes. He reciprocates the oral pleasure before they start going at it in the standing doggie position. Eventually they move to missionary, with the sex ending with him pulling out and unloading on her stomach. I enjoyed this one, the sex is a little bit more energetic than Devon's previous scene.

Scene 4 Avy Scott and Jezebelle Bond
This is a pretty straight forward, simple girl/girl scene. Not bad, but nothing too exciting.

Scene 5 Devon
I probably enjoyed this scene the most. Andrews does manage to find a really nice angle of the action here with Devon lying on her side, exposing her form beautifully. This scene actually works quite well in my opinion as a believably tender and even somewhat romantic love scene under the stars. Devon's eyes sparkle as she continually looks up at her lover longingly.

Extras
Behind The Scenes - (this footage is actually pretty entertaining)
Blooper Reel
Multi-Angle Crash Sequence
Cast Bios for Devon, Barret Blade, & Nic Andrews
Trailers for "Rush" and "Devon Stripped"
Photo Album - (I usually don't bother with these, but these are great. Some of them are actually kind of funny)
Audio Commentary with Nic Andrews, Devon, & Barret Blade
Original Screenplay
Isolated Music - (this option plays the feature so you only hear the music) It would have been a much cooler option if it allowed you to turn off the music and Isolate the sounds of the performers during sex.

Final Thoughts
This film is pretty plot heavy. It is kind of like watching a bad b-movie with higher production values, but sprinkle in five sex scenes. This really is one of the best attempts I've seen at a mainstream feature within a skin flick, however I have seen certainly seen superior sex scenes. So basically if you're into couples friendly porn Rush is pretty good when measured by those standards.
