Initial Expectations: I’ve been very impressed with Rocco behind the camera. I’m expecting a hot scene here!

Initial Reaction: It’s pretty hot, but tamer than what I expected from Rocco and the technical aspects weren’t quite what I was used to.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects show a little age. The audio is pretty clear and well balanced, although there are a few background noises in places. The video is much the same. It has a little of the grain which normally comes with a slightly older movie, and the lighting varies a little as well. Most of this is due to Rocco using some natural lighting, but it still varied enough to distract me a few times.

Music: There’s a little music, but it rests so quietly in the background that I wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be there or if it was a background noise. Regardless, it’s nearly harmless and barely noticeable.

Menus: As usual, the main menu is nicely done. It’s simple, blending a bit of the movie with a very nice still, but works. More impressive is the chapter menu, which shows the care of allowing the viewer to select a group of chapters based on the ladies in each section, and the fetish menu, which allows the viewer to jump directly to specific sex acts such as tease, anal & double penetration, or cumshots.

The Feature

Rocco’s True Anal Stories goes with a simple concept. Each feature is a collection of unrelated scenes that have an emphasis on anal. None of the scenes are connected in any way other than having Rocco involved in some way, and they often have a very small and quick setup to them.

Scene 1 - Caroline Cage, Nacho Vidal, Vivien, and Rocco Siffredi

Rocco starts things out looking for Nacho, and instead finding Caroline bending over to water her plants. Caroline directs Rocco to the house where he finds Vivien washing her double dong and anal beads in the sink. That said, it also seemed to more to the anal a little too slowly for an anal oriented feature, and the natural lighting and the hand held camera work held the scene back for me. There’s a lot of potential here, but some of the style of the scene held it back from completely getting there for me.

Scene 2 - Helen, Nikki, and Rocco Siffredi

This is a great scene! I love the chemistry between Rocco and the girls, and Helen is extremely cute! I would have liked more of Helen here, but it’s still a very hot scene!

Scene 3 - Mercedes Black, Mike Foster, Frank Gun, Gabriel Zero, John Walton, and Leslie Taylor

I know that you can’t show any explicit peeing stuff in America like you can in Europe, but a little tease there would have been very nice. Shortly after Mercedes takes Gabriel’s cock in her mouth, however, my hopes for the scene came right back up. Mercedes really seems to get into the attention of all the guys, and takes the anal like a champ. This is a good scene, but doesn’t quite make it to the same level as the first pair of scenes.

Scene 4 - Edit, Liliana, and Rocco Siffredi

After Edit and Rocco pick up Liliana at the train station, they talk her into coming back to Rocco’s to do a photo shoot. This is perhaps the weakest scene in the movie. There’s some very nice chemistry to start things out, but after that I ended up a bit disappointed. Most of my disappointment was from the technical aspects, which I think are the worst that I’ve seen in any of Rocco’s movies. I don’t know if he tried using filters to make it more artistic, but if so it didn’t help the scene! The audio also seemed a bit off, as it was much quieter than the other scenes. The sex also disappointed me a little. The girls are into each other okay, but the camera only gave me what I wanted to see about half of the time. In the end, the scene comes out above average, but it had the potential to be one of the best in the movie.

Rocco’s True Anal Stories 8 leaves me both disappointed and impressed at the same time. I’m used to a very intense Rocco, and that doesn’t come out here. Yes, I was really looking forward to some intense action, and I was a little disappointed that it never really showed up here. On the other hand, Rocco has a softness here with a lot of chemistry that really impressed me, and in many ways makes up for the negative feelings I had for the movie. I know there’s a lot of couples out there who want something a little dirtier without getting to the point of seeing how much the girls can take. That thought hit my head repeatedly as I watched Rocco’s True Anal Stories 8. This release adds a lot of depth to Rocco’s direction, and really impressed me. The scenes are fun and have some very nice chemistry in every one of them. Yes, there is a bit of attention given to anal action in each scene, as well as a fair amount of all girl action, but it never gets so heavy that I thought of it as an anal feature. I don’t think that half of each scene is anal oriented, and it’s done in such a way that it feels like a natural progression of the sex. All of this really impressed me, and it makes me think that although Rocco’s True Anal Stories 8 might disappoint some of his fans looking for intense sex, it’s a perfect feature for people who are interested in Rocco and what he brings behind the camera but who don’t want to see how extreme Rocco can get. Rocco’s True Anal Stories 8 has it’s faults, but it also has some very nice strengths.

Currently, most Evil Angel DVDs can be found online for between $18 and $30 with many stores offering them for around $20. Due to the softer feel of this feature, I’m tempted to recommend people rent this one. Rocco’s intensity isn’t always on show here, which will turn some people off. I’m just as sure that it might win him a few new fans as the sex is pretty hot and has some nice chemistry. Sadly, the technical aspects are lacking compared ot most Evil Angel releases and there isn’t anything special for extras.

Note to Evil Angel / Rocco Siffredi: It’s great to see you working to bring this entire series to DVD, but please spend the little extra time it takes to get the technical aspects cleaned up for future releases of your older titles.
