Audio/Video:
Excellent. The music may have been just a tad louder than I usually like it, but that's just a personal preference, and it was good. The lighting was real nice throughout, with special effects during the hot dream sequence that I had never seen before in porn. The sound in this part is what really got me going, though. I'm a sound freak. It built, slowly at first, then incorporated the sound of.. well..um..if you've ever fucked hard on a kitchen table you know. This man knows, too.
oh yeah.

Extras:
There's quite a lot of behind the scenes footage, and even it's done well. The highlight is a pleasant, lengthy interview with James Avalon, who comes across as very likable, knowledgable and non-creepy. Cute, too. This is the best extras package I've seen in a while. The movie- related stuff ain't bad, either.

We learn a little about him, such as how he became a pornographer, and what niche he is going for among the degenerate home viewers. 'Intellectual porn' is the way he describes it, and I'd have to agree. In fact, he wants to appeal to those who haven't found porn all that attractive or arousing thus far. There's a vast number of potential fans of a more upscale nature who find pornography to be too graphic, too ugly, and too mean in many instances. He obviously realizes this, and these are the people he wants to reach. Who cares if he doesn't attract the more hardcore raincoaters, I say. There's only too many other troughs they can feed from, but precious little for those of us not on a downhill slide to depravity. For people who still have imagination, get those sexy, subtle nuances, and don't find anal gapes attractive. For people who don't see how women choking and puking on force-fed horse cocks could be stimulating. These are my words, not his, but this is how I understood it, and his voice is music to my ears.

Some mainstream guys he's always liked are Fellini, early Kubrick, Woody Allen and Ridley Scott for visuals, often with the sound muted , he says - at which point the interviewer bluntly asks, "Do you do drugs?" He took that really well I must say, just laughed and asked, "No, why? Do I sound like it?" ( He didn't at all ) She explains that his choice of movies led her to ask that, she could picture someone on LSD getting into those flicks. WTF? I can't make up my mind about her asking this question. On one hand, I thought it was rude and uncalled for, even more so after hearing her 'reason' for asking. On the other hand, it was kind of refreshing, and I've been known to be blunt myself and appreciate that quality in others. Direct and to the point, no bullshit. Even so, I think I would have bitchslapped her silly.

A photo shoot with Stacy is included at the end, and she looks great in it. It's her last movie before her first retirement, and during a short interview with her, she tells us how she wanted to 'go out' with a class act like Avalon.
Tell me about it.

The Movie
My feelings about features are well known and not unfounded. In the past, I have found most dialogue driven plotlines to be laughable at best, a waste of time, and effective at sucking any warm air build up and replacing it with a bucket of cold water. The constant fast forwarding required to avoid this can be almost as sobering, so I put this movie in, and assumed the position. No, not THAT one. My right arm extended, clutching a remote, with my index finger resting lightly on the worn FF button - a hair-trigger away from obliterating any lip movement. But..something kept me from doing that. There was instantly something different, more of a mainstream feel to it. You quickly grasp the plotline, and it moves you fairly rapidly from one sex scene to the next, without even pressing that FF button. I won't go over all the scenes or give away the plot, but I enjoyed it, and if you like plot, or even if you don't, you will like this movie.

Stacy plays an ex-slutbag who snags a rich doctor. After posing as a proper wife for a couple of years, she's finding out that old habits die hard, and she's itching for some strange dick. Much like that other Red Shoes series, it opens and closes with Stacey in her bathtub making diary entries, which let's us know what's going on in her life. There's some mention made of things that went on previously, but it's not really necessary to know here. She gets fucked over pretty good by Bryce (Evan), who's a real dirtbag attorney of her husband's. He tells Stacy that he has tapes in his possession of her that could ruin her rich husband's career. He blackmails her for some sex, then refuses to give her the tapes. I told you he was a lowlife! He has a master plan, the goal of which is to blackmail the judge presiding over the 'The Avalon Case' to get a favorable ruling. I'm not sure what the Avalon Case is all about, but I think it has something to do with a shooting that happened at this 'Livia's' upscale sex club, back when Stacy hung out there, hence the blackmail.

The judge's wife is Charlene (Gwen Summers), and Bryce wants Stacy to befriend and corrupt her. He sets up a dinner where they're introduced, and next tells Stacy to get Charlene to go with her back to this Livia's, where they're subjected to watching Joel Lawrence on videotape in full fetish gear. Charlene leaves in disgust, and I can't say that I blame her.

That night she has an extremely erotic dream, however. Her new friend Samantha is in it, as well as a couple of half-man, half-animal life forms, commonly known as porn actors. Ian Daniels and Erik Everhard played the roles with body paint and loin cloths. This scene had a lot of atmosphere, and I got real turned on watching it, in spite of the antics of the two ape-men. Maybe it was the lighting and music oh who am I kidding, it was those sounds again, you know the ones.

It succeeded in being very dreamlike, and primal, with good buildup in the music, and almost a jungle-like feeling. Charlene sits off by herself at first and masturbates while watching Stacy getting pounded by Ian Daniels. Everhard runs around making apelike sounds before pouncing on Charlene and putting it to her.
This goes a long way toward waking up her sexuality, and according to plan, she eventually breaks down and hate-fucks Bryce, who somehow makes being an obnoxious asshole work for him.

Avalon explores the idea of what I call the 'hate-fuck', or the incorporation of 'lust and disgust' as an aphrodisiac. Although I can't say I've ever experienced this, or wanted to have sex with someone I couldn't stand, I'm sure given enough time I could learn to despise damn near anyone.

I won't go over every scene, but another one I really liked was one of the shortest, and though pretty basic, it's something we rarely see in porn. You don't have to be repulsed by the partner either, to experience what it's like to have an overwhelming urge to just fuck - as quickly as possible, no foreplay, barely enough time to pull your panties down. In fact, for this kind of feverish coupling, only clothing preventing said coupling is allowed to be pulled aside, but not removed. You know what I'm talkin about!

When the Judge hears from Bryce that his wife is screwing around at Livia's, he goes over there and catches her in the depraved act. Only in Porno World would this lead to hot sex instead of a Domestic Disturbance call, subsequent arrest, and a year of court-ordered Anger Management classes, but that's why we like it. After about 10 seconds of recriminations, Randy admits seeing her with another man has him feeling kinda, well, randy, so he quickly unzips and sticks it in, for a good hate-fuck quickie.

Let me say in closing that I highly recommend this movie, obviously. It seems to have something for everyone here, and I'll be suggesting this one the next time that 'wife's first porno' question comes up. There's a good story, but it doesn't get in the way of the sex, and the actors are above average (for porn) enough to carry it off. It has style and class, without sacrificing hardcore heat to achieve a certain 'look' or feel. James Avalon utilizes that largest of all sex organs. No, not Joel Lawrence, but the human brain. The right people, the music, the sounds, atmosphere, everything put together in a way that makes those clinical, gaping closeups even more hideous. Not that he doesn't realize what you guys want to see. He doesn't skimp on the blowjobs or facials, they're plentiful. They're just not as rude or nasty. BTW, you've obviously noticed I had to end my boycott of facials - mainly because I quickly ran out of porn to watch, and that's more important than any stupid principle.

This is the first 5 star rating for me. Not that I'm in any way a qualified movie reviewer, but I do know what I like and what turns me on. I know that there aren't nearly enough stylishly pleasing, interesting AND arousing movies out there. This is a first class production, so I should thank Metro as well for spending the money and giving this man what he needs to bring us more movies like this. I can see why you're proud of him. Mr. Avalon, thank you for getting it.
