Synopsis:
A lady kidnaps her husband for the insurance money and to throw off the police, she goes to hire a private investigator. Pizza delivery girl Patricia Pallone happens to be in the private investigator's office when the lady arrives and gets hired to find the husband. Pallone searches through a web of deceit, lies and danger to find out what happened.

Video/Audio:
Guns & Rough Sex is presented in the full screen aspect ratio, 1.33:1, which could be the original aspect ratio for the film. The picture is crisp and clear with not a blemish or artifact to be found. The color is vibrant with the levels perfectly set.

The audio track that I used for screening the film is the 2.0 English dubbed Stereo track. The sound is decent with all the dialog easily heard. The audio special effects lack punch though and sound undramatic. The dubbing is relatively good, it's better than I have heard on Private discs in the past, and the general point in the dialog always comes through. At no time does the music interfere with the dialog. Other available audio tracks are a 2.0 German dubbed Stereo track, a 2.0 French Stereo track, a 2.0 Spanish dubbed Stereo track and a 2.0 Italian dubbed Stereo track and the available subtitle options are Netherlands, Swedish, Danish, Portuguese and Polish.

Chapters/Time Code:
There are six chapters available from the main menu for Guns & Rough Sex, one for each sex scene. They are identified with a video clip to help you find the spot you are looking for. There is a time code for this feature.

Special Features:
There are several extras on the disc and most of them have to do with the feature film. First up is the Trailer for Guns & Rough Sex presented in widescreen. Report is a 12 minute behind the scenes feature in English delving into various aspects of the film. Cast has text info and a Private DVD filmography for Adrianna Rouso, Bambie, Lisa, Mandy Bright, Michelle Wild, and Patricia Pallona. Photobook contains 52 stills from the film that you flip through. Production Notes is a short text feature that has info on the feature film. Other Titles contains previews for Private Life of Bettina, Superfuckers 11, Anal Furies, Private Reality 4, and Triple X Files 9.

DVD-ROM Special Features:
The DVD-ROM extras are the Internet Activated DVD Catalog and the PC Bonus. As I don't have a DVD-ROM drive, no additional information is available on these extras.

Review:
Guns & Rough Sex is an adult action title to come from Private Pictures. The action sequences in the film were well done, with above average special effects for an adult film. Although the film was not quite what I was expecting, I was expecting a hardcore version of Andy Sideris's soft-core films, I found the film quite enjoyable.

Quite a bit of work went into making the film look good, as you can tell from the stylized opening credits. The documentary on the disc also goes into how a weapon expert was brought in to make the use of the guns in the film look real. I was impressed by the special effects at the end of the film, although they are not up to the level of a Hollywood film, they are better than I have seen recently in an adult film. The story is fun and holds the sex scenes together well, but gets to be ridiculous in parts. Not enough to detract from the film though.

The sex scenes are well done. They aren't too long or too short and have variety in the sex acts performed. The main sexual themes are oral, vaginal and anal sex with fingering, masturbation and DP. The cast is attractive, both the males and the females, and they are obviously having fun with each other. The acting is decent, a little over the top in places, but still acceptable.

The Money Shot:
While Guns & Rough Sex was not quite what I was hoping for, the film is still an enjoyable 90 minute venture. Viewers who like a porn with a plot and like harder sex will probably get much enjoyment out of this feature. Viewers who hate porn with a plot, harder sex or foreign dubbed films will want to avoid this title.
