Porny Monster Review

Synopsis
Ostensibly a porn re-imagining of the creepy Macauley Culkin vehicle, 'Party Monster', Joanna Angel and her Burning Angel minions merge fun, freaky shit, & hard- ass sex into this concoction . Chapel Waste, looking very 'Tank Girl-esque' here, is determined to mold herself into an Joanna disciple . What ensues is a series of lessons/public sex scenes, usually in noisy-ass techno clubs, or bath(ewww)rooms. Ultimately Chapel, aka the Monster, & mentor Joanna engage in a sort of sexual competition, or shootout, if you will.... various 3 somes with others & finally, each other, all leading to a frenzied climax( literally). Who wins/is left standing ? Mmmmm, wouldnt be right to say...some mystery is good.

What I Liked
The sex. Yeah, lots of intensity/energy througout. Chapel appears to literally evolve into a sex/come/weenie fiend as the story unfolds...nice . Joanna, of course, rarely if ever mails it in...and her fucking here is much enjoyed...esp. her rooftop boinkage w/ BF James Deen.

What I Disliked
The various public/nightclub sex scenes are hot BUT... the NOISE, oy vey . And the 'DJ dude' , geez, I wanted to kick him in the teeth. Badly ! Joanna, couldn't you've played some chill trance or ambient music(muzak ?) instead ? Y'know, maybe some Eno's 'Taking Tiger Mountain By Strategy...ooh, or 'Music for Airports' !? Anyways. Another beef...WTF ? Does ALL 'alt-porn' HAVE to be dark, err.... lighting wise ??? Take the roof boink for example...hot-as-fuck sex, Deen & Angel fuck the lights out...umm, literally . Too GD dark, yeah yeah yeah, I know 'realism'...a big ol' klieg light woulda spoiled the feel/vibe of the scene, but geez man, ah well.

DVD Quality
I may question the 'dark' factor thats here, but no question the street/club/roof et al. shot locales was very cool . Very good extras here as well, in fact, there's a 2nd disk devoted just to various extra bits...you can tell just how psyched Joanna was to make this flick, and the extra expository details are nice to hear .

Overall Thoughts
If in fact this is/was Joanna's swan song with Hustler/Vca, she goes out in top form . The story elements are solid, & provide a good foundation for the numerous and frenzied fuck scenes that follow/ensue . Fans of helium chested, barbie-doll lookin' ingenues best skip this disk...anyone else lookin' for a flavor of a unique taste will enjoy & appreciate this effort. peace, barrettman .
