Porn Stars of the 80's Review

Overall Opinion: Porn Stars of the 80’s is a fairly misleading title for this production. It isn’t a compilation of the best stars of the 80’s. Not even close. This disk is a collection of clips from the old late night NYC cable show called Midnight Blue. The disk rotates between information segments, interviews and the old commercials for adult orientated products that used to advertise on the show. Since the ads are so old, they edit out the phone numbers as the numbers now belong to someone else. There is no visible hardcore sex in this feature and the overall rating would be an “R”. Primarily we only see toplessness by the girls, with the occasion pussy shot thrown in if the girl is undressing. We also see a naked thin Ron Jeremy long before he got the name The Hedgehog. Jeez, his cock is so much bigger when it’s not hidden by his gut. The interview segments are very interesting in the sense that it’s an insider’s interview, versus a drooling mook saying things like, “huh huh, you’re so hot, huh huh.” Al Goldstein does a great job with this. My ratings for this are for material presented and not hardcore sex.

The interview highlights for this are:

Desiree Cousteau, topless, announces her retirement and also her love on enemas.

Paul Thomas talking about John Holmes being bi and showing a stag film clip of Holmes starting to fuck some guy in the ass. Any penetration was blacked out, but the guy did take Holmes quite easily.

Annette Haven, looking very lovely in short red hair, talking about her career, and also talking about how emotionally stunted/damaged/needy today’s actresses in porn are. Granted this interview took place in the early 80’s, but Haven goes on to say that while some are only in it for the money, a lot are looking only to be loved. Haven admits to having this flaw herself.

Nina Hartley looks great with her nice tight body and breasts.

Samantha Fox talking about getting paid $250 a day to shoot an actual feature film in the downstairs of the house belonging to Paul McCartney’s manager. Fox then talks about how they were shooting another film upstairs and she’d run back and forth when not fucking to be in the crowd scenes as filler. Fox also mentions to literally doing 7 scenes in one day.

Al Goldstein going on the Wally George show was included in the extras section of this disk. Kind of comical actually, Wally was a predecessor to the trash style show of Morton Downey Jr. and Jerry Springer. Wally and Al trades insults back and forth while the audience chanted. I could swear that one of the audience members was Peter North.
