The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are well done. There isn’t any audio other than music, which is typical of Celeste’s style. That said, it’s done as well as one can hope with a 5.1 mix. The video also shows some very nice care. It has a hint of grain, but it feels like it’s there to approximate the look of film. The filmlike quality is helped out by a very nice anamorphic widescreen transfer and some well done lighting. This is a great looking and sounding movie.

Music: As usual with Celeste’s movies, the music shows some very good care. It’s the only audio in the movie, so this is definitely a very good thing. It varies in style very nicely, and helps to give the scenes their feel by either playing completely into the visuals or sometimes contrasting them. It’s an artistic mix, but it works very well for the movie.

Menus: After a few quick clips of the movie, the main menu nicely settles into a boxcover shot with a bit of animation worked into it. The chapter menu is very generic, and lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene.

The Feature

Porcelain is a Celeste Mission, which means that it’s going to be a heavily artistic fuck flick that might remind people of Andrew Blake’s work. There’s also plenty of solo and girl girl scenes mixed in with the couples action.

Scene 1 - Jana Cova and MacKenzie Mack

MacKenzie starts things out sitting on a staircase wearing only jeans, fuck me shoes, and a belt waiting and looking very nervous about it. Scene 2 - Faith and Jerry

Scene 4 - Lacie Heart and Scott Nails

Scott also looks darn good here, and there’s a nice back and forth feeling of control as the scene starts. The fucking could have lasted a bit longer here, but overall this is another nicely done scene.

Scene 5 - Jana Cova

Jana starts out her next solo scene in a fuzzy white sleeveless top with brown shades and white studded fuck-me shoes. This scene just didn’t work for me. The blue tint to the picture didn’t work well, and the sex seemed drawn out much further than it needed to be. The location seemed recycled from the original and like it was trying to be hidden by letting the camera only work with extreme close-up shots that didn’t do much of anything for me. I didn’t care for this scene at all.

Scene 7 - Carli Banks and Jana Cova

Carli starts out the seventh scene standing on the edge of a pool in black stilettos and a skimpy black outfit playing with her tits as Jana seductively swims over to her. There’s some good heat here, but the scene’s feeling cut off at the end definitely held it back.

Scene 8 - Karlie Montana and Scott Nails

Scott starts out the penultimate scene checking out a naked Carli wearing only his black pants, shirt, and glasses. They hold themselves back from going after each other, with Karlie making the first big move by slowly dropping down and then licking her way around Scott’s pants. This scene is very easy on the eyes, but mixing it up a little more would have been very nice.

Porcelain is a nicely done artistic all sex movie. The artistic stylings of the movie definitely come into play here, and whether or not one likes it is probably going to depend largely on how well Celeste’s style works for them. Personally, it’s really grown on me and I’ve found myself getting into it more and more the more I watch of Celeste’s movies. The first half of the movie seemed a bit stronger for me, but that’s not to say there isn’t plenty of nice action in the second half. The only scene that didn’t really work for me was Nikki Hilton’s scene with Jerry, which seemed like it was recycled and trying to hide it. Otherwise, Jana Cova easily earned her place as the covergirl with some darn hot scenes that always left me wanting more. Unfortunately, that feeling held back some of her scenes as the all girl scenes in the movie rarely came to a close where they felt like the action was completely finished. Porcelain is a hot piece of artistic porn, but with a few tweaks it could have been even hotter.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Playground’s bigger releases can be found online for between about $18 and $28 with a few stores offering them for under $20. I’d aim a little low or rent this one before buying it unless you’ve seen some of Celeste’s movies already. The sex is nicely done, but a little inconsistent. The technical aspects show some very nice care, but sadly there isn’t much effort put into the extras. This is a nicely done movie on a DVD that could use a little more work overall.

Note to Digital Playground: It’s great to see you putting so much effort into your technical aspects, but a little effort towards the extras would be very nice as well.
