Playing With Fire (Standard Digital) Review

Review:
All holy, sexual hell breaks loose when a standoffish, single, working mother and secretary (Candy Cummings) marries the big-pimpin' ladies' man of the office (Randy West) who has been pursuing her, only to have it ultimately come to light that he previously fucked one of her daughters (Brooke West). Of course, awkward doesn't nearly describe the familial interactions that ensue as Brooke's and Randy's attempts at keeping their prior encounter a secret unravel...nor does it adequately describe the chicanery, deception, infidelity, and quasi-incest that follow. Such is the case in "Playing with Fire", an exceptional, 1983 release from Standard Video and famed director Kirdy Stevens. Featuring an intricate plot and a stellar cast, the heat in this film steadily picks up as it (and its storyline) progress...all until it eventually boils over. Indeed, what starts off as a fairly "normal", ho-hum set of events ultimately winds its way into being a twisted tale of familial fornication and revenge fully reflective of true Kirdy Stevens' style. In many ways, this has been done as masterfully and erotically here as in any of his prior productions (including the "Taboo" series), and the result is simply captivating from start to finish. For those looking for more from the director--and perhaps something of a "deeper cut" in their quest for Golden Age classics--this one should work out perfectly. It did for this particular reviewer, and, as such, it is quite easy to recommend. Fans of features, vintage nookie, and/or Stevens' other work are going to want to check this one out. Hands down and dicks up, it's a winner!

In terms of the sex, Scene One brings together Candy's blonde, youngest daughter, Karen Summer, sluffing school with her pals, the blonde Cara Lott and her boyfriend, Blair Harris, in a fantasy sequence that Summer is recounting. This one finds the trio going all menage on a baby-oil-slathered, rubber-sheeted bed (oral--both ladies, vaginal--Lott). In Scene Two, Randy West shares his secretary and date for the evening, the big-titted blonde Linda Shaw, with Ron Jeremy when his doesn't put out. Despite her initial hesitations, she gives it up, fucking and sucking them both (pop-shot by Jeremy on her tits and face). Scene Three pairs up Randy with Ron's aspiring actress of a date, the brunette Brooke West, out on a large sofa and after he gets kicked out of bed at the end of the prior sequence by Ron (oral, vaginal). In Scene Four, Randy West finally lands his prey, the lovely brunette, Candy Cummings, in a passionate, fireside romp after enduring a cruel sequence of tease by the young mother (oral, vaginal). Scene Five finds Brooke West (also one of Cummings' daughters) getting it on with her pseudo-boyfriend, Eric Edwards, after the latter has complained about not getting enough attention from her (oral, vaginal). In Scene Six, Randy and Candy, his new bride, get it on in their marital bed (oral, vaginal), as Candy's daughter, Karen, and Randy's son, Tom Byron, peep in from outside. Summer gives Byron a hand-job while they watch (Scene Seven). In Scene Eight, Karen turns her disdain for her new brother, Tom, into lust...popping his cherry on the family sofa, while having him eat cherries from her cooch (oral, vaginal ; she sucks and jerks him to a facial). Scene Nine has Karen's older sister, Brooke, learning of her sister's and Tom's indiscretions of the prior sequence and, after seeing the size of his cock, deciding to get in on the action herself...even if it means sharing with (and fucking) her younger sibling (girl-girl, oral--both, vaginal--West ; facial for West, post-cum head by Summer). In Scene Ten, Candy seduces Brooke's hesitant, on-again-off-again guy, Eric Edwards, at his place, in a vengeance-fueled fuck (oral on her, vaginal ; she blows him and jacks him off to a facial, followed by post-cum head), while Scene Eleven (inter-cut) finds Karen Summer sneaking under the sheets and doing the same to Randy (oral, vaginal ; similar finale as the last). Wow! So fucking hot! What a tremendous, erotic buildup from sticky start to fornicating finish! Definitely recommended.
