Initial Expectations: Tanya Hyde is one of the most creative directors out there. I can’t help but have high expectations for whatever she does.

Initial Reaction: It’s well done Tanya Hyde, which about says it all.

Who Should Watch It : Anybody who wants something very different or thinks all porn is the same

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody who thinks companies like Vivid, VCA, and Wicked are just a little too “out there”.

Audio /Video Quality: Tanya Hyde has a very unique style to her features. It first struck me as MTV on acid, and I don’t think I’ve ever thought of or heard a way to better describe it. The audio is often hollow and frequently dubbed. This gives the feature kind of a surreal feeling that actually fits it to a tee. This is not the porn your parents used to watch, and if so, I suspect that you might be on some heavy medications if you found it at an early age. The video is much the same way. Much of it is done in non-anamorphic widescreen, which is really too bad since I would have loved to see the entire feature get an anamorphic transfer. The feature mixes black and white footage with color footage, and occasionally has a fair amount of grain. There’s also some other tricks plaid with the video, all which make it very hard to give it any kind of rating. There were a few spots near the start of the feature, however, that looked to have a few flashes of remnants and other minor problems. I don’t think they amounted to three seconds total, but they didn’t seem like they belonged.

Music: There’s a little music in the feature, but most of it blends very well into the background. There are times when I couldn’t even hear it. It’s still there, and does a great job of building the mood in some of the scenes.

Menus: The menu is the same style Pirate normally uses. It blends the chapter menu into the main menu and uses some decent animation. It comes out looking very good and distinct.

The Feature: Rubberfuckers Rule continues Tanya Hyde’s very unique style of fetish sex. There’s latex, anal, B&D, and fetish stuff that most people probably wouldn’t dream of. They’re put in five unconnected scenes that are only connected by style.

Blonde Domina starts with blonde Monica Moore, wearing shades, a collar, and a long black coat with tall fuck me boots, leading her slave, Laureen Kiss, who’s also in black fuck me boots as well as a mask, by a leash up to her room. Laureen lights Monica’s cigarette, leaves Monica alone so she can touch herself in private, and then returns to lick her slit and ass. After being properly prepared, they go downstairs where Monica has Leslie Taylor masked and bound to a carnival wheel. After making sure Leslie is hard, she rips away his rubber underpants and has Laureen continue with her oral duties. The unique adult fun moves on with Monica fucking Laureen with a glowing dildo in a love swing as Leslie watches and jerks off, and then Leslie coming over for a warmup and to spear both of Laureen’s holes. After Laureen gets both of her holes fucked a couple ways, they move into another room where Monica gets her pussy fucked before the girls finish with a very impressive facial that looked to almost be like getting hit with a fire hose. As usual with Tanya Hyde, it’s very different and very hot. It’s not as different as some of her other scenes, or maybe I’m just getting more used to her style, but seems a little softer and a great one to let people into her movie just a little slower.

Leather Prison starts with black haired Monique Covet going in to teach prisoner Tony deSergio a lesson. She tortures him with a bit of teasing pleasure as well as spanking his cock before dropping down to suck it. Monique also punishes Tony, spanking his ass and later fucking it with her strap on. The scene cuts to another section area where janitor Chrystal teases prisoner Csoky before letting him lick her pussy through the bars. She gives him a little head in return, but gets caught by Monique as she fucks him through the bars. Monique rips her away to punish her with a spanking and an ass fucking before throwing Chrystal into a cell with two masked men. She lets them work on Chrystal before coming in and working on them herself. She finishes off the guys and takes a nice pop in her mouth and on her gaping ass. It’s another hot scene with Tanya Hyde’s very distinct touch.

Nasty Nurses show some of Hyde’s definite style, as well as her desire to push the limits. Dora Venter is brought in in a body bag and almost immediately probed by Mike Foster and Tony deSergio in both holes and with fingers and toys. She’s double penetrated almost immediately, first with a cock and toy and then with two cocks, before the action switches, as Hyde has been known to often do. It moves to the nasty nurses blonde Monique Covet and brunette Sheila Scott. After a little foreplay with large toys they work each other over with fingers and toys including double dildos and inflatable buttplugs. They’re later joined by Mike and Tony, who start off wearing latex Hannibal Lechter masks, who have their way with Monica’s ass and Sheila’s pussy before giving Monique a nice facial and stuccoing Sheila’s stomach. It’s a hot scene that seems both twisted and highly erotic.

Stockings & Spunk once again starts off with Dora Venter, Mike Foster, and Tony deSergio. This time Dora starts in a cage and has to suck the guys, both of whom are wearing bridles, off for freedom. She continues to work for her freedom, sucking and fucking while looking like a complete wild woman, as if she was in the cage for a reason. After giving her a good test drive, the guys deliver her to Monique Covet and Sheila Scott wearing a dildo face mask. The guys come back into the action again, fucking Sheila’s pussy and Monique’s ass before decorating their bodies with their guy goo. It’s another wild scene, but progresses much nicer than the previous scene. It jumps from place to place, but this time you can follow it.

Finally, Toys & Sluts starts with Leslie Taylor and Csoky Ice carrying Chrystal and Monica Moore into a room. They set the girls down and have them suck their cocks before letting the girls work on each other with a double dildo. The guys lend a hand or two to help guide the dildo before Leslie spanks both girls with it. The action switches to Laureen, who’s brought in and thrown into a gynecologist’s chair for a short examination before taking her Csoky suppositories down on the floor as well as a double penetration. She even gets treated like a horse during the double penetration before the action switches back to Monica and Chrystal. Chrystal gets her ass fucked and them sprayed with spooge while Monica joins Laureen in taking a nice facial. It’s a wild final scene, even for Tanya Hyde. I have to admit to feeling a little uncomfortable at times during this one, and I’m not sure why since it isn’t really any worse than any of the other scenes. It’s a great finish for a very well done feature.

Tanya Hyde isn’t for everybody, but those who enjoy her style should definitely enjoy Rubberfuckers Rule. It has everything you’ve come to expect from her. Unique sets, wild lighting, beautiful women, toys, ass fucking for guys and gals, and of course, lots and lots of latex. Each and every scene, although having some of the same feel, still stands apart from the rest. Needless to say, if you haven’t seen anything from Tanya Hyde yet, and this sounds interesting to you, rent it first! Her style isn’t for anybody, and I have a feeling that the people who won’t like it really won’t like it, and the people who like it will really, really like it and won’t care that they spent a couple extra bucks to check it out. Rubberfuckers Rule is another winner from Tanya Hyde.

Extras: Trailers are included for Rubberfuckers Rule, Cyber Sex, Italian Legacy, Riviera, Desert Camp Sex Exchange, and XXX 13. The photobook contains about thirty extremely nice looking full screen photos. Production notes give a little information about the feature, but mainly feels like promotional notes. Bios, which I’ve been told should be taken with a grain of salt, are included for Chrystal, Dora Venter, Laureen Kiss, Monique Covet, Monica Moore, and Sheila Scott. Each bio gives a few snapshots of the star, a little personal information, and a listing of the star’s other Private credits.

Finally, there’s The Report which is a featurette that lasts just under five minutes. It’s a blend of behind the scenes and promotional material. There are quite a few shots of Tanya working with the cast, as well as a few quick interviews with the cast. It’s short but pretty sweet, and worth checking out if you enjoy the movie.

Overall: Most of the Pirate Video Deluxe line can be found online for between $22 and $32 with most stores offering it for around $25. If you’re a fan of Tanya Hyde, this one is going to be well worth the money, but others should rent it first. It has all the artistic nastiness I’ve come to expect from Ms. Hyde, and shows why I consider her the best fetish director around. The transfer has a couple minor problems near the beginning, but otherwise looks great. It also has a decent selection of extras that adds to the overall package.

Note to Private: It’s great to see you supporting the widescreen format. I hope in the future you take your support all the way to anamorphic widescreen.
