Synopsis:
Supposedly an amateur film where a film crew convinces women from jolly olde England to have sex with them and films the action without the woman's knowledge.

Video/Audio:
Peepshow Special volume 2 is presented in the full screen aspect ratio, which appears to be the original aspect ratio for the film. Although the picture is slightly grainy, this print is clean from defects and artifacts. The colors look good and the picture quality is slightly better than one might expect from such a film.

The original audio track for the film is a 2.0 English Stereo track. The track is decent although it does have its issues. As can be expected from this type of film, the audio levels vary throughout, usually due to how far someone was from the stationary microphones. This can make some of the dialog in the film hard to hear at times. There are also dubbed tracks for various other languages provided on the disc, more specifically, a 2.0 French Stereo dubbed track, a 2.0 German Stereo dubbed track, a 2.0 Spanish dubbed track, and a 2.0 Italian Stereo dubbed track. Usually when watching a Private feature, viewers who understand French have the advantage since that is usually the language of preference for Private's original audio tracks. Here viewers who speak French are at the disadvantage of those who speak other languages and are stuck with the poor dubbed tracks. The original English dialog is still in the dubbed track with the translation spoken over the original dialog, which can make the track hard to hear at times. There are also subtitle options for Dutch, Swedish, Portuguese, and Polish.

Chapters/Time Code:
There are four chapters available from the main menu for Peepshow Special volume 2. The chapters are identified by a video clip from the scene and the star's name. One chapter that goes to the beginning of each of the sex scenes. Given the type of film, this level of navigation is decent, although I usually prefer much more. At least it allows you to skip over a scene that you don't like easily. There is a time code for the feature film, so time searching is available.

Special Features:
Private has given this disc their standard extra line up, you have a photobook, which contains 45 photos that you have to flip through. There are the cast biographies, which contains some info on Jamie, Patricia, Sammy, and Tanya. There are the production notes which are nothing more than press release sounding information, combined with the text off the box and the release specifications.

And an extra that isn't related to the feature film, previews for Private Lust Treasures, Private Goddesses, Sexterminators, Lost in Sex, and Triple X Files 10.

DVD-ROM Special Features:
There are two DVD-ROM extras on the disc, one that is related to the film and one that isn't. The DVD-ROM interface is nicely designed and allows you to either view the internet activated DVD Catalog, which allows you to find out information about all past Private releases and the PC Bonus, which is a wallpaper image for your desktop.

Review:
This is the second volume in the Peepshow Special series from Home Town distributed by Private. To the best of my knowledge, they are not being actually made by Private. Although this release is far from being great, it does have some notable improvements over the first volume. In this volume, every time the camera angle changes we are not treated to a full screen display of the Peepshow Special logo. Losing this annoying editing technique definitely worked in the favor of the film.

The cast in this volume is overall more attractive than the cast in the first volume. None of the cast members here stand out for being extraordinarily attractive, but far less of them are as bad as in the first volume. For viewers who like older ladies, one of the cast members Sammy is 49 years old. For viewers who don't, you will be well advised to just skip over chapter three on the disc.

The main idea behind the film is supposedly Remington Steel and his crew head out to England with cameras, hide them and convince women to have sex, which they capture on tape. Then they obtain the woman's permission to use the footage in the film. The scenes themselves are basically the same as they were in volume one, you the viewer is told that they have already attempted the scene several times without it working and of course it works, otherwise it wouldn't have made the film. When the sex actually starts, these amateurs who don't know they are being filmed are great at acting like porn stars and making very porn looking scenes. Slightly too good if you ask me as the sex doesn't look natural, it looks scripted. Don't buy this thinking that you are actually seeing scenes of people who don't know they are being filmed as most likely each of these scenes was scripted in advance.

The sex scenes, although looking scripted, are well done and better on the eyes with a more attractive cast. The biggest drawback to the sex scenes is they are all very similar to each other. The film would be far better with more variety to the scenes, and would look slightly less scripted as well. The sexual themes in the film are oral, anal and vaginal sex and for viewers who care about such things there were no condoms used in the film. The film is well shot as well, unfortunately a little too well shot for what the film reputes to be. The cameras almost always get a decent almost unobstructed view of what is going on. As a result, it adds to the belief the entire film is scripted.

The Money Shot:
Although Peepshow Special volume 2 shows significant improvement over the first volume, I still have trouble recommending that anyone purchase this title. Viewers who like tamer sex or a plot will definitely want to avoid this title and for others who are interested, I definitely recommend a rental first so you don't feel burned after watching this title.
