Audio /Video Quality:
The technical aspects are very deliberate and well done. The audio is clear and well balanced and I didn't notice anything close to a background noise. The video is presented in anamorphic widescreen and shows some very definite care as it moves from a black and white opening into full color. The picture is clear with a very still camera, and the lighting is dark with an obvious sense of intent and style.

The Movie:
Passion Noir brings together four scenes focusing on couples sex and a heavy artistic style.

What You Need to Know:
As with, Sexual Bliss, the other Sinful XXX releases from Roma Amor I've seen, Passion Noir is very heavy on the artistic style. As it advertises itself as being an erotic artcore film this shouldn't be a surprise, but once again the artistic style is extremely heavy and is very hit or miss. There's a bit of black and white footage mixed in for the early portions of the scenes before it changes to full color with the couples covered in beads of oil, water, or sweat, but the lighting is very minimal so that you only see the couples making love after they pose for the camera a bit. Unlike Sexual Bliss, the chemistry between the couples came through pretty well here and the scenes flowed much better for me despite the constant fade in and out with every editing cut. Unfortunately at 40:42 the disc stopped playing and I couldn't get it to play after that. Although I wouldn't have expected this after my previous Sinful XXX experience, I was actually a bit disappointed. I was actually starting to get into the movie pretty well in Vinna and Lutro's scene, rather than having time drag on forever. Passion Noir shows some decent potential when it comes to artistic porn, but sadly the technical faults of this release make it one to pass by rather than picking up to see if the style works for you.

Final Thoughts:
Although it shows potential, the current pressing of the disc appears to be defective and over half of the movie don't play. Pass it by.

Note to Sinful XXX:
I'll admit to being a little disappointed that this one didn' play right after starting to get into it. I hope you have a little better quality control in the future. Also, please watch your claims towards running time as missing it by a third really does stand out.
