Initial Expectations: In my opinion Jonathan Morgan is very safely in the five best directors around. I always look forward to his movies with high expectations, and am rarely disappointed.

Initial Reaction: It’s a lot of fun in typical Jonathan Morgan fashion.

Audio /Video Quality: Wicked is known for having very high technical aspects, and this one doesn’t disappoint much. The audio is clear and well balanced, but there are a couple spots that seem like they might have been dubbed as well as a couple minor background noises. The video is much the same way. It’s very clear right out to the edges with few problems outside of a minor shadow or two.

Music: The music is very nicely balanced with the rest of the audio, and changes to fit the style and theme of each scene.

Menus: Wicked has done their normal very good job with the menus. The main menu is animated and fun while also fitting in with the overall feature. The chapter menu lets you choose a chapter based on a small clip and a fun title for the chapter.

The Feature: When Kylie finds herself unable to sleep at night, she heads out to watch a little late night television. As usual, there’s nothing decent on, so she flips channel to channel. Each show sends her dreaming for a little while, and as usual, they’re all wet dreams.

Kylie first finds herself in a western showdown with cowpokes Joel Lawrence and Pat Myne. Pat starts out poking her mouth while Joel handles his own gun. After warming himself up, Joel finally pokes Kylie from behind without giving her any warmup. I normally like to see the women get a little foreplay too, but this might be part of Kylie’s dream, or maybe it’s because she’s one of them “loose” dancers in the saloon. After Joel pumps away on Kylie’s pussy from behind, she rolls over to see what Pat’s got. He keeps her going pretty good, but they kick things up a notch with Joel fucking her ass reverse cowgirl style, which I guess actually fits in with a wild west scene. Finally, Pat gets his shot fucking Kylie’s ass missionary style while she sucks Joel’s longhorny before the guys unload their guns on her face. It’s a hot scene, and especially impressive since in one of her interviews Kylie states that she had a horrible cold that day and hoped the guys would fuck it right out of her. Next up, Kylie checks out some classic martial arts. After defeating the evil ninja, Brad Armstrong (complete with long braided ponytail) is awarded Kianna’s hand in marriage. I’m not sure if I’ve seen Kianna before or not, but I knew I’d be wanting to see her again before she was even completely undressed. She’s an Oriental with big fat titties, as some like to call them, and a pretty face. She lays back for Brad to suck her tits and lick her pussy before she keels before his staff and gives it a little oral exercise. She turns her back on him next so he can fuck her from behind and encourage him to give her a good hard fucking. When the fire dies, he runs off with dirty blonde (which isn’t just describing her hair color) Calli Cox, who’s very grateful that he didn’t pull her along by her hair. It’s a well done scene that pays attention to the details, such as having both Calli and Lee only grunt rather than talking, but for some reason it didn’t do much for me. The chemistry isn’t great, but it is okay, and the camera work is also well done. I have no clue why I didn’t really like this one, but it just came off as average for me.

Kylie finds her peaceful walk down a wooded path interrupted by a guy with a chainsaw that’s wearing a hockey mask with a red nose and a blue wig. She finally finds a cabin in the woods where she begs Kyle Stone to help her and stay with her rather than pushing him out as bait and locking the door behind him. Taking the safer route, Kyle pulls Kylie’s panties aside and gives her an oral examination with his tongue impressor. He takes his time in working over Kylie’s pussy and ass before laying back and letting her straighten a thing or two out for him in addition to taking it down her throat. For some reason, Kyle still feels the need to give it a few strokes before Kylie squats down on it and rides him like he’s the last fuck she’ll ever have. Kylie and Kyle have had quite a few scenes together in the past, and it’s pretty clear that they enjoy working together.

After being wounded in battle, Jason McCain is tended to by nurse newcummer Terra Part, who I think is the latest entry in the “What drugs did you take to come up with your name?” contest. After saving Jason using the same technique made popular by Di$ney and fairy tale movies, they continue the kissing and Jason works his way across Terra’s firma breastas and down to her white cotton panties. It gives the scene a little different feel from some of the others, but it is a feel that many people like.

Finally, Kylie Ireland tells her friends Joelean and Cherie about her new job selling dildos door to door as they relax in a hot tub. Much of the success is due to Kylie’s drive throughout the scene, which keeps the entire thing moving at a very nice pace.

One Sleepless Night reminded me almost right away how good bad can be. Much as he did in his Double Feature! movies, Jonathan has injected so much cheese into the scenes that you couldn’t possibly mistake it for Velveeta. Each scene stands fine by itself, and every one of them had me smiling while still looking forward to the sex. As usual with Jonathan Morgan, the sex is very nicely done and has a nice balance between straight vaginal sex, anal sex, group, and anal sex, although there’s a little heavier emphasis on anal sex here than in most movies. Although it has an anal emphasis, it’s always nicely done and fits into the scenes well rather than just feeling like it’s there to make the scene a bit more extreme. Kylie Ireland does a great job in all of her scenes, and turn them into the three best scenes in the movie. The biggest problem with One Sleepless Night is that it might cause one for many of the guys who watch it because they might hurt themselves if they try to roll over in bed after watching it.

Extras: Wicked has included their standard extras, such as promotional material, a list of their award winning DVDs, the Wicked Web link, a company profile, the Wicked Casino, and a commercial for the Free Speech Coalition. They’ve also included their standard audio bios for Kylie Ireland, Kianna, Joel Lawrence, Lee Stone, Jonathan Morgan, and Brad Armstrong. Several photo galleries are also included. Both the production and the behind the scenes photo gallery last two minutes with six seconds per nice looking framed photo. There’s also star galleries for Kylie Ireland and Calli Cox which last two minutes each, and one for Kianna which lasts for a minute and a half. Photo gallery fans will also enjoy the Girls of Sleepless Nights featurette, which lasts about two and three quarter minutes and shows the photo galleries being shot. Finally, for the simpler extras, there’s trailers for The Kissing Game, Hell on Heels, Flashpoint, Double Feature!, The Bride of Double Feature, Dream Quest, Knockout, Pornogothic, Satyr, Sex Safari, Vengeance, and Working Girl.

Interviews with Kylie Ireland and Kianna are also included. Kylie’s interview lasts about twelve minutes as she sits in front of a fire and is intercut with footage from the movie. She talks about each of the scenes and the performers in each of the scene. Kylie does a great job, and talks about each of the scenes and performers with a nice insiders perspective that makes the entire interview a lot of fun and almost as good as a commentary. Kianna’s interview with Jonathan Morgan lasts a little under two minutes. It’s a nice little interview that gives a short look at Kianna as a person.

All Access: The Making of One Sleepless Night lasts about nineteen minutes. It’s quite a bit different from the normal All Access, and has the feel almost of a nature program. Granted, there is quite a bit of animal behavior on a porn set, but it was still a bit of a shock. It’s treated as an episode of National Pornographic, and no, there aren’t any old black women with bones in their nose. Instead the camera captures the scenes being shot while a narrator tells what’s going on. The only real interview is with Kianna, but there are a few other times when Jonathan is shown talking with the cast. The biggest complaint I have with the featurette is that the cast isn’t labeled as they first take the screen, so you don’t always know who’s who. It’s still a good behind the scenes, and a lot of fun, but it isn’t going to be what you’ve come to expect from Wicked and their All Access featurettes.

If that’s not enough, Wicked appears to have had a lot of fun with Easter Eggs. There’s an on location interview with Kylie Ireland, arts and crafts with Kylie Ireland, 35 things to do with a cowboy bandana, a guy who just says “You’ve found the hidden Easter Egg. Good fucking deal.”, drinking games with Jonathan Morgan, the 54 point turn, my first dildo, prehistoric loving, curse of the dragon, and a one or two that are best experienced for yourself. Perhaps my favorite, however, is Special Memories with Jonathan Morgan where he talks about a couple of his scenes back when he was performing in front of the camera. It’s a great bunch of extras that really makes the DVD great! It’s obvious Wicked had a lot of fun with them, and they raise the DVD up a notch above normal.

Overall: Wicked’s releases can normally be found for between $22 and $30 with most stores offering them for around $25. With how much Wicked put into this DVD, it’s well worth the money. It has a few problems in pretty much every area of the movie, but they’re all very minor and easily forgivable. The extras are a big part of what makes the feature. Wicked put some nice effort into the extras, and packed the DVD with easy to find Easter Eggs that are a lot of fun.

Note to Wicked: Great job here, especially on the Easter Eggs. It’s obvious you were having fun here, and it paid off very well.
