Obsession of Laure, The (L'Obsession de Laure) Review

Shortly after reviewing MASQUERADE for Adult DVD Talk, I had the opportunity to take a gander at THE OBSESSION OF LAURE, a Wicked Pictures DVD from Marc Dorvel Video and starring gorgeous featured actress Laure Sinclair. Well, immediately after glancing at the cast listing of OBSESSION, I was almost convinced that this movie would top MASQUERADE, due to my overwheming partiality to Vicca (now a VCA contract girl) and Anita Blonde who performs in three of thirteen (!) scenes in this video.

Well, after comparing my, umm..."reactions" to both films, I don't think that OBSESSION is overall as good as MASQUERADE, but then again, I saw MASQUERADE first so my expectations were already at an Olympian level. Still, THE OBSESSION OF LAURE was enough to convince me that the entire Laure Sinclair vehicles from Marc Dorcel were worth collecting, and Wicked's collection of European imports definitely give the Private line a run for their money. From the very beginning of the film, director Christophe Clark clearly takes advantage of his casting couch, as he gets to have his way with Vicca and super-attractive brunette Nadia. For those who don't know, European films excel in featuring every type of sex possible in every position possible, and this video is no exception. Anal penetration and oral cumshots are taken with ease, and not a single scene disappoints. Whereas in most American films, I hope to find at least one good scene out of an average of five, I have to look far and wide to find one bad scene in any Marc Dorcel or Private release. Just like with cars, if you want the best porn, you have to go overseas...

Vicca performs in three scenes, including an early pool-side tryst with some Euro dude, where she looks simply fantastic in white lace. While it's true that porn is populated by a great many gorgeous women, Vicca is especially striking because of her all-natural supermodel figure and sultry, red-headed appearance. To me, there is nothing more pleasureable than to watch those incredible legs outstretched as she is getting fucked, or to see her sexy mouth on some guy's rod. Her scene with Mr. Clark is made even better by the eye-batting appearance of Anita Blonde, a woman who would be right at home strutting down a catwalk wearing outfits from Victoria Secrets. How the director manages to keep his composure while these two beautiful women have their mouths all over him is beyond me.

Of course, the star of this show is the stunning Laure Sinclair, who appears more confident, but just as lovely, in her sexual performances than she did in MASQUERADE. Laure has multiple scenes in this video, but my favorite is the video's only true girl-girl scene, again with Anita Blonde. Although I believe that European productions lack the creativity of American videos when it comes to a good lesbian scene, this one had me thoroughly captivated. Laure's charisma and natural sexual prowess are so overwhelming, that I doubt if any viewer could ever get bored of watching her in any of her movies. Indeed, although I had just seen her dominate MASQUERADE, not once did I feel that she was getting a bit overexposed during OBSESSION. She maintains a fresh-faced look and demeanor which in turn, keeps her movies fresh and exciting. Truth be told, after my fourth or fifth viewing of this terrific film, I promptly decided to take my meager paycheck and apply it to the entire Laure Sainclair series (and my recent on-line order confirmation of THE MAZE, THE LOVES OF LAURE, THE COST OF LUST, and THE FEVER OF LAURE from DVD ADVANTAGE are solid proof of my endorsement).

The video quality on this film is sharp and colorful, though it does not look quite as "film- like" as MASQUERADE. The sound is good, but the whole film is overdubbed which can get a little annoying, but never detracts from the viewing experience. Extras are limited to a photo gallery, scene selection, and a biography. If you ever took high school French, you use the menus on this disc as a refresher course.

Simply put, THE OBSESSION OF LAURE is a great film starring some unbelieveable women. I know that there are certain viewers who get tired of the general look and feel of most European porn, but their quality cannot be faulted. This disc is definitely worth getting.
