Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody is, rather obviously, a hardcore take-off of the six years running 1979 television series The Dukes of Hazzard created by Gy Waldron. Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody is a feature comedy and is directed by Mike Adams. There are some aspects of Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody that this reviewer loved and other aspects that this reviewer wasn't so in love with.

The story behind the film is that Daisy Duke (Ryder Skye) gets fired from her job at The Whore's Nest by the owner Boss Hogg (Allen Moffat). Bo and Luke Duke (Bill Bailey and Anthony Rosano respectively) find there is going to be a wet t-shirt contest and get Daisy to enter. The issue is the wet t-shirt contest has been rigged so that Nancy Lou (Monique Alexander), Sheriff Emmet “Spike” Loomis' (Jack Lawrence) daughter, will win. Boss Hogg decides to make life hell on the Dukes so they will drop out of the contest.

The Dukes of Hazzard is a show that was ripe for an adult parody and out of all the properties that have been parodied by the industry one of the likeliest to succeed. However, the end result here is mixed. Adams has done several beautifully. To begin with, The General Lee looks dead on and the costuming in the movie is excellent. Most of the locations utilized in the movie are perfect and give the movie an excellent feel. Personally, the really industrial looking interior of Kooter's (Mark Wood) garage could have been better picked. However, overall, there aren't too many issues with the locations and sets. The guns used in the movie look a little hokey and more like toys than real guns.

The movie also features a great cast which includes a slew of non-sexual characters that really round out the experience. This brings us to the major hang-up that this reviewer has with Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody. If a studio is going to make a parody of a television show, there should be at least as much non-sexual plot-based footage as the show had present in the movie. The television show ran for an hour and the movie runs for two hours and 13 minutes, however, only 31 minutes of that is allocated to the plot. Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody needed a far better balance of sex and plot.

The sex scenes in the movie are well-done, especially Ryder Skye who does an absolutely fabulous job with the role of Daisy. The sex scenes are beautifully shot with some great camera angles that bring life to the sex scenes. The characters stay in character throughout each sex scene as well. However, the sex scenes could have been pared down a little without harming them to allow for a complete feeling plot.

Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody does a lot right with great costumes, some excellent locations, enjoyable sex scenes, and some great props, however, the story is lacking which as a parody movie harms the production. Fans of the television show will probably enjoy watching this but fans of features may find themselves wanting more.

Vouyer Media has done a great job with their two DVD release of Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody. Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody was shot digitally and is presented in the anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio of 1.78:1 in 480i. The picture on the disc for the movie looks absolutely beautiful with no blemishes or issues at all. The colors in the movie look beautiful. There is a Vouyer Media bug in the right-hand bottom corner of the screen that comes and goes during the movie.

Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody is presented with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo audio track. There are no noticeable issues with the audio track whatsoever. The dialog in the movie is clear and understandable at all times.

Vouyer Media has included several extras on this release. The first DVD contains the movie and “Flick @ Night TV Episode” which is the 31-minute softcore version of the movie. The second DVD holds the bulk of the extras. “Welcome to Hazzard County Y'all” is a 49-minute making of the movie featurette. There is a 33-minute interview featurette with the female cast called “Meet the Girls of Hazzard County.” “Cooter's Gag Garage” contains six minutes of outtakes from the movie. There is also a photo gallery and a behind the scenes photo gallery included on the release.

Vouyer Media has also included four bonus sex scenes from other Vouyer Media movies. There is the Alexis Texas and Mr. Pete scene from Bombshell Bottoms 5, the Shawna Lenee and Sascha scene from Super Stacked All-Stars, the Ryder Skye and Mr. Marcus scene from Souled Out, and the Monique Alexander scene from Self Service.

Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody does a lot right in bringing the television show to the blue screen in Mike Adams' parody. However, the plot for the movie is lacking and the lack of balance between the plot and the sex scenes harm the movie. Fans of the show will likely get a kick out of this movie, however, fans of features will likely feel underwhelmed. Vouyer Media has done a great job with their two DVD release of Not Really... The Dukes of Hazzard: A Hardcore Parody with beautiful video and audio on the release.
