Initial Expectations: I haven’t seen anything from this series, but with this cast and what I’ve heard of Ren Savant I’m going in with some pretty good expectations.

Initial Reaction: It’s fairly hit or miss.

Who Should Watch It : Fans of artistic all girl action

Who Should Avoid It: Anybody wanting all girl action with a nice mix of action

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is clear and has a nice balance to it. The video is also nicely done. There’s a few artistic effects which work well. The lighting is also fantastic, and goes a very long way towards setting the mood for the scenes.

Music: The music is nicely balanced with the rest of the audio and fits most of the scenes very well.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple. The main menu just has a still with the choices listed at the bottom while the chapter menu lets you make your choice based on a small clip of each scene and a scene number.

The Feature

Needless to say, No Man’s Land 39 is an all girl feature. Unlike so many other all girl features, however, it goes with a vignette style and uses it to connect the scenes. This time around the subject to connect the scenes is nightmares.

Scene 1 - Sandra Shine and Judy

Sandra and Judy start things out with Sequiphobia, the fear that somebody’s hunting you down. For Sandra, that’s just the case as Judy chases her down into a dead end alley. She kisses and starts stripping down a resisting Sandra until she gives in and they suck each other’s tits. Judy moves down to eat Sandra’s smoothly shaven slit before letting Sandra reciprocate on her from behind and give her a little finger play as well. Sandra climbs back up for a little more tongue and tickle from Judy before they kiss and walk out together.

This scene didn’t do much for me. The girls are hot, but the action was slow, boring, and extremely limited. The only thing that really seemed pretty good about this scene was the chemistry. Keep your remote handy for this one.

Scene 2 - Julie Night and Avy Scott

Julie has a case of Odontophobia with Avy in the second scene. When Avy comes after her with power tools in the dentist’s chair, Julie distracts her by starting to strip down. Avy kisses and gropes her, as well as pinching her tits, rubbing Julie’s pussy, and slapping her thighs. She moves down to eat Julie and fuck her with a dildo before climbing back up to ride Julie’s tongue. She also lays back for Julie to work on her with her tongue, fingers, and a dildo as well as getting a little rimming. Julie takes another turn on her back so that Avy can give her a rimming and fuck her ass with a dildo. Avy sucks the dildo clean and the girls kiss before Avy goes back to work.

This is an above average scene. The dark feel really works well with Avy and Julie, and they have very nice chemistry and energy as well. I can see the darker feel turning some people off here, but I think it worked better for me in this scene than it did anywhere else in the movie.

Scene 3 - Dominica Leoni and Kimberly Kane

Next up is a case of Aquaphobia, or the fear of drowning as Kimberly saves a drowning Dominica. After bringing her back to consciousness, Kimberly kisses and gropes her way around Dominica, who thanks Kimberly by going down on her. The girls share the taste of Dominica’s fingers before they move to some rocks for Kimberly to eat Dominica and finger her. She also gives her a little action with a double dildo before taking the other end herself. The girls finally kiss and the scene fades out on an unusual happy note.

This scene barely inches above average. The girls have nice chemistry and the scene’s pace is okay. It drags a little in places, but not too bad. The main thing that stood out to me about this scene was the happy ending, which just didn’t work for me and seemed very odd compared to the rest of the movie.

Scene 4 - Keiko, Kylie Ireland, Aria, Lauren Phoenix, and Bridgette Monroe

Keiko has a case of Agoragymnophobia, being caught naked in public in the penultimate scene. When she appears in a parking lot in front of Kylie and Aria, they drag Keiko into a warehouse and play with her with the help of Lauren and Bridgette. They gag Keiko and make her beg for Aria to fuck her with her strap-on as Laura gets it on with Bridgette. They have Keiko eat Lauren before riding Kylie’s strap-on while Aria keeps herself busy fucking Kylie at the same time. Kylie keeps going with her strap-on fucking Keiko missionary style before moving over to Aria. She gets Aria to let loose with some strong squirts while the other girls play with dildos, and they hey make Keiko lick up Aria’s feminine flood. The girls continue with plenty of anal dildo action all around. Bridgette takes a technical DP, Lauren gets a full facial from Aria, and Keiko shows some nice gapes and takes some ass to mouth as they mix it up. Finally, the girls throw Keiko back out into the street without any clothes.

This is a hot and nasty scene, and definitely worked very well for me. There’s great chemistry among all of the girls and the camera does a very nice job of moving around to capture all of the action. Keiko does a great job as the focus of the scene, and Kylie and Aria are just as good. Lauren and Bridgette get left in the background a little at times, but they definitely know when to come forward. This is a great scene.

Scene 5 - Anita Dark and Laura Monroe

Bottle blondes Laura and Anita finish things up with Scelerophobia, the fear that somebody’s watching you. Finally, Anita comes after Laura and eats her bald pussy after greeting her with a kiss. She crawls up and sits on Laura’s face before letting Laura eat her bald beaver in return. They share a double dildo and kiss before waking up in bed.

This scene isn’t anything special, but for some reason it really worked for me. The girls have nice chemistry and I really like how the stalking was handled. There’s a bit of tension here that kicked the sex up a notch, and in the end, this ended up being one of my favorite scenes in the movie.

No Man’s Land 39 is a decent idea that was very hit and miss with me for a few reasons. I really like the idea of building a movie around different nightmares, but the dark feel was very hit or miss for me. There’s some nice care given to making the setups creepy, and I like how things returned to where they started in most of the scenes rather than just ending with the sex. Just as much of a problem as the feel of the movie for me was the sex. Most of it seemed a bit long and some of it seemed a bit cold and mechanical. The last two scenes were easily the best in the movie, and they do a great job of showing that Ren can play both soft and seductive as well as hard and nasty. No Man’s Land 39 is a nice idea that is done pretty well but still left me a little disappointed compared to what I was expecting.

The Extra Stuff

The photo gallery looks very nice and contains over thirty snapshots and full screen photos. Trailers are included for No Man’s Land 35, No Man’s Land Interracial 5, No Man’s Land Latin, and No Man’s Land Asian Edition 3. Bios are included for Anita Dark, Avy Scott, Bridgette Monroe, Dominica Leoni, Judy, Julie Night, Keiko, Kimberly Kaine, Kylie Ireland, Laura Monroe, and Lauren Phoenix. Each bio includes a photo and a little information for the star, There’s also a behind the scenes featurette and commercials.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about twenty three minutes, and the first part is hosted by Kylie Ireland. There’s a little of each of the scenes with the exception of the second scene, which was a bit of a bummer for me since I really like both Avy Scott and Julie Night. For the other four scenes, however, you normally get a little time with the girls in each scene as well as some of the people behind the scenes such as Ren Savant and Kylie Ireland. It’s a pretty good featurette with a nice mix of things, but I couldn’t help but be a little disappointed by the lack of Avy and Julie.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many Video Team DVDs can be found online for between $15 and $25 with stores offering them everywhere in between. I’d strongly suggest that people rent this one first as the dark feeling might really turn some people off. The technical aspects are nicely done, however, and there’s some decent effort put into the extras to make this a DVD that shows some decent care.

Note to Video Team: Although the movie didn’t get me overly excited, you show some nice care with the overall DVD. With a cast this size and the number of performers who might not be familiar to the average viewer, a cast listing by scene would have been a great addition for this DVD!
