Nina Hartley’s Guide to Double Penetration

Nina Hartley makes a damn good " Guide to..." movie. So I was really excited to see that she had made one about double penetration, something which is frequently seen in porn movies these days without revealing exactly how people actually get to that point.

There are three scenes here, starting with Nina discussing many aspects of double penetration with her friend Kylie. The two of them are seen in sexy latex outfits going over lots of potential questions a viewer might have, being sure to cover Nina's well-known and consistent emphasis on honesty, open communication, and lack of embarrassment about sexual matters.

They discuss sexual pleasure, health, and satisfaction in general, all things that are extra important in regards to a relatively extreme act such as double penetration. Nina emphasizes that women need to know themselves, what they like, and how their own pleasure and bodies work. Men, too, are reminded that they need to know themselves sexually, which is a welcome change from the more common attitude that men require no self-reflection and that they always have their bodies and sexuality figured out.

Nina stresses that double penetration is an "extremely sophisticated" form of sex play, and that it's not for everybody. She even goes so far as to say that some people who are interested in enacting it may not physically be able to do so, or at least not on their first try. At a time in porn where viewers can see all sorts of acts that are not necessarily immediately replicable at home for non-professionals, this is honest and helpful advice. Nina stresses the ethical aspects of this kind of sex play, specifically noting that coercion has absolutely no place in this kind of scenario (or any, of course!). As she says, "Consent is not the absence of no, it's a statement of shared intent."

Nina gives an anatomy tour using the sexy Kylie as a model in order to give viewers a really practical idea of the logistics involved in double penetration. Enthusiastic as ever, Nina parts Kylie's legs to reveal her pussy, and exclaims, "Ahh! The promised land-- Where we're headed; why we fight!" If Ms. Hartley doesn't have the best attitude towards making sexy movies and helping other people get off, I don't know who does!

My one critique of this discussion is that it’s completely heterosexually oriented. I may have been more comfortable with this if the DVD title was “Double Penetration for (100%) Heterosexual Couples,” but as this was not the case, I found there were a few too many assumptions made for my taste. This did not take away from my enjoyment of the movie, but was noticeable.

The first of the two sex scenes is between Nina, Randy Spears, and Mario Rossi. Here is an opportunity to see two people (Nina and Randy) who have known each other a long time get it on and bring in a third person (Mario), who is new to being with Nina. She embodies attentive, self-aware, horny sexuality, and always lets us know what feels good and what feels better. All of their responses are so genuine and turned-on, it's fun to witness this real experience that they are sharing. The DVD advertises this as Nina's first double penetration on screen, and the way she verbalizes and vocalizes how amazing it feels is worth the viewing. The intensity of the sensations is completely laid out for viewers to share.

The second scene is between Nikita Denise, Evan Stone, and Chris Cannon. Their scene doesn't feel quite as "grounded" as the previous scene, but it is still full of hard and hot fucking. The setting is a black and red themed bedroom, complete with a bar that hangs from the ceiling to hold onto. It is notable and sweet that this scene opens with the two men confirming that their friendship won't be disturbed if they share this sexual experience together with one’s girlfriend. They seem to get over this concern pretty quickly when she enters wearing nothing but a corset and heels, and all is well in the world.

There are great extras on this DVD, including (most significantly) a super hot extra sex scene with a different cast that seems unrelated to the double penetration theme. For me, the standout performance in this lingerie fashion show/strip tease/fuck fest was Aria, whose apparent ultra orgasmic capacity and fierce fucking was completely mesmerizing. An interview with Nina is also included, which is appreciated because it is good to get more of her healthy and horny philosophy. There are also many trailers for other Adam & Eve releases, including "Dinner Party III: Cocktails," which I'm looking forward to seeing based on the excellent trailer.

Overall, this is a great DVD and excellent addition to the Nina Hartley Guide series.
