Initial Expectations: Jonathan Morgan is among my favorite directors, so I’m looking forward to this one. Of course, there’s also the fact that Wicked rarely puts out a bad DVD.

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is pretty standard for gonzo porn. There’s a few unbalances in the audio, but normally it’s pretty good. You do get some background noises and can hear some of the stars being given directions, but that’s part of the feel of the feature. The video is clear, but does have some lighting problems and you can frequently see the camera people. Again, these seem to be par for the course with series such as this.

Music: There’s a little music that’s pretty standard in style, but it’s nicely kept in the background.

Menus: The main menu has some nice animation to give a good first impression, which I’ve come to expect from Wicked and the care they give their DVDs. The chapter menu is pretty standard, letting you choose a scene based on a small clip of the scene and a scene number.

The Feature: Long before he started making big budget features like The Gate or comedies like XXX Training, Jonathan Morgan made pro-am movies, the type where new starlets get boned by well used talent. Luckily, the things one does expect from Wicked, such as treating the source material as it deserves and a sense of fun are also here. Zana’s the only girl who really stands out from the rest of the pack, but I think that might be just due to sheer volume. She’s a lot of fun to watch since it’s been a long time since I’ve seen anybody that completely into the sex. They other girls also do a very good job, including Aurora Snow who gave what I think might be her best performance. If you like watching talent as they first start out, New Girls in Town should have a place on your shelf or shopping list.

Extras: Wicked has included most of their standard extras as well as a few special for this DVD. Trailers are included for Dream Quest, Crazed, Double Feature!, Flashpoint, Heartache, Hell on Heels, Knockout, Pornogothic, Satyr, Sex Safari, Spellbound, The Bride of Double Feature, The Kissing Game, Vengeance, and Working Girl. Wicked other standard extras are also present, such as the list of Wicked’s award winning titles, company profile, promotional materials, Wicked web, Wicked casino, and commercial for the Free Speech Coalition. In addition to the standard photo gallery, which lasts about two and a quarter minutes, photo galleries are included for each of the four ladies here. Each one lasts two minutes with about six seconds per photo, and nicely mixes nice looking snapshots and full screen photos.

Wicked has also included a bonus masturbation scene for each of the girls. Overall: Currently, New Girls in Town can be found online for between about $21 and $29 with a decent spread from store to store. This is a very fair, if not cheap, price for all you get here. The sex and technical aspects are pretty typical for a pro-am feature, but it also has Jonathan Morgan’s sense of fun, which raises it above the rest of them. It also has some nice extra sex to make this an all around great DVD.

Note to Wicked: It’s great to see you bringing out something like this to diversify your DVD line a bit. Hopefully we’ll see more of your gonzo style features that you’ve already released on DVD in the future!
