Audio /Video Quality: The audio varies a bit. Although there are a few background noises, the biggest problem is the balance. Some areas are very quiet to the point that I went from hearing the scene just fine to barely being able to hear anything. The video is much the same way. There’s a small amount of grain throughout the entire feature, but the lighting leaves a bit to be desired. There are many scenes that seem just a little dark and quite a few soft focus adjustments.

Music: The music changes almost scene to scene. Some of it has a nice drive to it, while others feel like they were taped on the elevator ride up to the room. The balance is much the same way, with some parts being very well balanced and others being very obvious.

Menus: Both the main menu and the chapter menu are very simple. Neither has any animation, and the chapter menu only gives you a scene number along with the picture to help you select a scene.

The Feature: With New Breed, Jules Jordan mixes industry professionals with newbies. Unlike most adult films, Jordan shot New Breed on the East Coast, which when you consider how much attention his features have received, really shows how well he can make a fuck flick. Of course there’s no plot, as usual with Jordan, but his unique gonzo style is still there.

Jules starts things out with Devon, back then known as Devin Striker, and her very first scene. Unfortunately Devon has some poor looking implants, but her face is still as cute as can be. As he often does, Jules starts out with a little tease before letting Devon mouth his manhood. Devon moves out onto the hotel balcony for Jules to start fucking her from behind, and then heads back inside to the bed to keep things going. Jules sinks deep in pink in a few more positions before sending his sex spray onto Devon’s gorgeous and bright eyed face. It’s a fairly hot scene that has a fairly fun feel to it. Devon’s clearly having a great time, and her eyes were so lit up through most of the scene that I couldn’t help but enjoy it. It seems pretty obvious that Devon’s new to the game here, as she doesn’t have the feel of where the camera is yet. She looks directly at it many times, which doesn’t work bad, but also spends a lot of time looking in other areas.

Leanna Heart, a nice looking brunette with a large rack, shows off for Jules in what looks to be an emergency or parking lot stairwell. They finally find their way to a bare mattress, where Leanna starts working Jules’ shaft over with her mouth and pierced tongue. They move through most of the other common positions before Leanni takes Jules joy juice on her face with her usual enthusiasm. It’s a fun scene, but a little on the soft side. It’s also just a little dark, which hurts the scene a little.

Bleached blonde Deanna Star teases Joey Hammers with her body and a clear jelly dildo to start off the penultimate scene. They head back in the room for Jules to return the favor by letting his tongue and fingers work their way around Harley’s gash. It’s a pretty good scene, but the camera work concentrated on the close-ups just a little too much for my tastes.

Even though it’s early in his film making career, New Breed stands nicely on its own. It has a simple style that’s fairly different from other film makers. It gets in for the close-up, but moves around to the point that you don’t feel like you’re missing much. It also stands a little bit apart since most of the girls in the feature don’t really feel like they’ve had a lot of experience in front of the camera, and the feature was all shot on the east coast. In the last fifteen years or so there’s barely been any adult films shot on the east coast that have been noticed, yet Jules was noticed almost right from the start. There’s a good reason for that, and you can see it coming through in New Breed.

Overall: Currently, the New Breed series can be found online for between $10 and $24 with most stores offering them for under $20. At ten bucks this one should be hard to resist. Since it’s very early in Jules Jordan’s career there are a few problems, both in the technical aspects and the style being a little rough at times. There also isn’t really anything for extras. At the higher end this would be an easy pass, but at the low end it’s definitely worth considering.

Note to Pleasure: Jules Jordan is one of the hottest directors around. I hope you keep bringing out his features on DVD so his fans can follow his career.
