Cast: Nina Hartley, Dee, Keri Windsor, Lauren Montgomery, Angelica Sin, Lola, Kyle Stone, Mickey G., Joel Lawrence and John Decker in sex roles; Jim Steel, T.J. Cummings, Anthony Crane and several uncredited actors in non-sex roles.

Director: Toni English

Production date: 4/18/01 (box); 1/17/02 (feature)

Length: 79 min. feature, plus 8 min. from volumes three (recap) and five (preview)

Extras: A 10-min. bonus scene from Third Eye, seven short biographies (Nina, Lauren, Dee, Keri, Angelica, Mickey, John), three trailers and a slide show with 20 photos.

Audio/visual quality: The lighting is extremely gentle, but not so dim that the action can't be seen. The close-ups are well focused. A small amount of enhanced motion ("slo mo") is present in the second scene. There are a few minor blemishes, which mostly consist of an occasional darkening at the corners. Otherwise, the video quality is very good.

The audio quality is only average. The music loops noticeably. The narration is flat and occasionally unintelligible. Some dialog during the sex is also difficult to hear, and a little dubbing is present, as well.

Disc problems: The time stamp is not recognized by my Apple DVD Player (version 2.2.1). If I quit during the middle of the scene and come back to the movie later, the disc restarts at the FBI warning. Since there are only five chapters in the feature itself, a lot of scanning is necessary to find the place where I left off.

False advertising: This is a minor point, but the descriptive text on the cover bears little relationship to the actual plot. Kim's man does not get "marriage fever," and Lindsey does not give the groom a "very personal wedding gift."

First impression: The opening scene is exceptionally hot, the closing scene is fairly warm and the three remaining scenes are rather ordinary.

Scene highlights: Til Bad Behavior Do We Part is the fourth installment of the Naked Hollywood series, which follows four female friends in their pursuit of sexual satisfaction. This particular episode takes an embittered and disparaging attitude toward marriage.

Keri Windsor ("Monica") runs into her old buddy Joel Lawrence ("Bill") at a wedding reception. Joel is married, but his wife is conveniently out of town on business. Joel and Keri lock themselves into the men's restroom to tend to a little business of their own. Keri delivers a searing blowjob, repeatedly testing Joel's cock with her teeth. She gets extremely loud when Joel licks and fingerfucks her, and she doesn't quite manage to suppress herself even when someone knocks on the door. Keri clings to the urinal plumbing for a standing doggie variation. Her orgasm in missionary is so intense that she squeezes her legs tightly shut and slaps Joel's hand away from her clit. Keri completes the scene by sucking Joel's cum off her foot. There's an undeniable chemistry between Keri and Joel, which is fully evident in their powerful and frequent eye contact.

As soon as the last guest leaves, the bride and groom launch their honeymoon in the reception hall. Angelica Sin ("Hannah") shows her lacy white lingerie to new hubby Kyle Stone ("Frank"). He works her clit slowly with his tongue. Angelica looks distracted during the blowjob. She takes only the head into her mouth, sometimes not even closing her lips on it. She adds a lot of handwork and scarcely glances at Kyle. Their first position is reverse cowgirl (how romantic), followed by standing doggie (during which Angelica talks dirty to Kyle). He ejaculates on her butt. Afterward, a huge argument breaks out.

Lauren Montgomery ("Kim") and her boyfriend John Decker ("Chris") go home for a bite to eat. The scene starts with kissing in the kitchen, which continues when she leads him to the living room. The oral segment is generous in length; the blowjob is much shorter. Lauren and John interact well during the sex, but the heat is somewhat damaged by the editing. The camera misses the initial penetration in cowgirl. Ironically, the next two minutes focus almost exclusively on the penetration (with only four seconds devoted to Lauren's face). The camera then misses the initial penetration in the doggie position, as well. John decorates Lauren's butt with a dozen drops of spunk.

Meanwhile, Nina Hartley ("Lindsey") makes up for lost time with her old flame Mickey G. ("Gary"). The action takes place in his friend's dining room and begins with kissing, caressing and undressing (always a nice touch). Mickey's oral attention puts Nina in a much better mood—she might even have an orgasm. The framing on her blowjob is a little weird; the table in the foreground completely blocks the view of her body below the neck. The positions include missionary and doggie. As Mickey pulls out to squirt Nina's butt, he leaves his condom dangling from her vagina (which is definitely amusing, though probably unintentional). This is not a bad scene, but I've seen Nina and Mickey generate a much hotter performance in Nina Hartley's Guide to Seduction.

The next day, Dee ("Annie") catches up to the woman who caught her eye at the reception. Lola ("Diane") is the bisexual wife of Anthony Crane, who's the bisexual ex-lover of Jim Steel, who's the current gay lover of T.J. Cummings, who's the bi guy pal of Dee. (Got that?) Lola shows her metal sculptures to Dee, and Dee makes her move right there in the subdued light of the deserted gallery. The sex is gentle and slow, which helps the scene feel more real. There are no toys. The two women trade oral affection. They then sit in an unusual side-by-side position for mutual masturbation. The kissing at the end gives the scene a nice, finished feel.

The bonus scene comes from Third Eye and features April and Dale DaBone. If there's any foreplay, the editor has chosen to remove it. There is a nice oral interlude, though, where Dale and April simultaneously thrust their fingers into her pussy. The action consists of the usual oral/vaginal positions, but both of the performers put good energy into it.

Thumbs up: As noted in my review of Naked Hollywood 3, Keri has provided some sizzling performances in this series. Her opening scene with Joel might be the best pairing in Naked Hollywood up through volume four. These two pros generate some serious intensity together.

Thumbs down: The attitude toward marriage is highly caustic. For example, Nina makes this snide remark about weddings: "If it wasn't one of our closest friends, we would have been busy doing more important things, like the laundry." A few moments later, Keri spitefully dismisses married sex: "Once that ring goes on, you know those panties stop coming off." I guess I'm just a little weary of these tedious stereotypes. It's true that roughly half of American marriages end in divorce, and not everyone's happy. But some of us are still quite delighted with our sex lives, even when many years have passed since the honeymoon. I don't understand why it's so difficult to find depictions of that in porn. The Naked Hollywood series has done an excellent job of debunking stale sexual notions in the past, so this script is a real letdown in that respect.

Themes: Straight, lesbian, oral, public sex, foot worship (cumshot only).

Condom use: Yes, in all b/g scenes.

Juice-o-meter: Medium low, except for the first scene.

Final analysis: This might not be a bad movie for viewers who have soured on marriage and need a cathartic release. Personally, I was a little irritated by the dialog both times I watched the DVD. Naked Hollywood 4 is still above average in most respects, but for newcomers to the series, I'd recommend starting with the first two volumes instead.
