Initial Expectations: Digital Sin has really been leading the way in virtual sex with their My Plaything series. I can’t help but look forward to this one.

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The audio is very nice and very clear. I don’t think I noticed a single problem with the sound. The video is also very well done. It’s presented in almost a non-anamorphic widescreen format, with the major sex decisions in the black bar above the picture and the finer selections in the black bar below it. This makes for a very nice presentation. The video is nicely lit, but it has a slightly soft look that might turn some people off.

Music: There’s a little music at the start, but it quickly disappears.

Disc Problems: My DVD-ROM player refused to play the “Nasty” portions of the movie. I’m deducting a half point because of this.

Menus: The main menu is nicely done. It lets you choose between the major sex areas and the extras, and does a good job of showing Sabrine talking dirty to build things up.

The Feature

Since she burst onto the scene, Sabrine Maui has been turning heads. Some of it was due to a smoking natural body, and plenty of it also had to do with energetic scenes where she took monster cocks up her ass. It makes her a perfect candidate for the latest My Plaything, where you get to control the action as well as some of what you want to see with two different true viewing angles.

You have plenty of options on what Sabrine will do. She’ll tease you with her tits, ass, or pussy wearing a cute little schoolgirl outfit with a white shirt, black and plaid skirt, white knee high socks, black buckle shoes, and her hair in pigtails. She’ll also masturbate as she lies back on a white sheet wearing only a necklace using her fingers or a dildo, and will even fuck her ass with a dildo if you’d like her to. For foreplay, Sabrine changes into black stockings and a garter belt and lets you eat, finger, or fuck her pussy with a dildo as well as stuffing both of her holes with dildos. Sexually, you can have Sabrine suck your cock, fuck her pussy doggie style, or pick a hole to fuck in either missionary or cowgirl.

Sabrine’s job is fairly hit or miss, but she always looks fantastic. Her outfits really make her look sexy, and for a title like this that seems very important. Sexually, however, she varies a bit. She never looks uncomfortable for the sex acts, and really shines for the anal portions of the DVD. When she’s in her nasty mode she seems at ease, and the sex flows naturally with plenty of dirty talk. It’s the nice mode that caused problems for me. Sabrine often feels like she’s reading her lines off a cue card for the nice mode, and the overall mood just seemed forced to me. I even felt a little bored watching much of the nice mood. The nasty made up for it for the most part, and I’m glad to see the two moods having such different feels, but the nice mood just didn’t work for me.

Cumshots always gets plenty of notice in virtual sex features. The bad news here is that all but one of the popshots are animated. The good news is that the animation is at least tolerable. It’s kept to what seems like a believable “volume” and angled in such a way that they seem fairly real. They’re also helped out by Sabrine just letting them go rather than acting like she’s playing with it. The only real pop is for the blowjob, where Sabrine takes a great facial. The cumshots might not be 100% real, but they are nicely done.

As usual, the virtual mechanism worked extremely well. The most noticeable thing with it compared to its competition, is that Digital Sin figured out that you can have the girl do a short into to each sequence and not loop through it every time the sequence replays. Each sequence normally has an intro portion to it lasting about thirty seconds, and when the loop reaches the end it goes back to the middle of the sex scene. This normally keeps things moving quite well, and gives the action a much better feel than most other virtual sex DVDs. There are a few places where the action at the end of the loop doesn’t quite match up with what happens when it loops, but it’s normally pretty close. The pop shots also blend in extremely well. After the pop, “you” always go back to fucking Sabrine where the sequence would regularly loop. The choices are always easy to use, as well as having a nice presentation. Digital Sin continues to have what might be the best virtual mechanism out there.

My Plaything: Sabrine Maui is a pretty good virtual sex release. Sabrine’s “nice” mood feels a bit forced much of the time, but when she’s nasty she feels natural and makes the sex a thing of beauty. The fake pop shots interfere a little, but at least are well done for faked pop shots. The virtual mechanism and presentation are both very nicely done, although my DVD-ROM player refused to play the nasty side of Sabrine. My Plaything: Sabrine Maui is a nice virtual sex release.

The Extra Stuff

Trailers are included for My Plaything: Gauge, My Plaything: Jenna Jameson, My Plaything: Jenna Jameson 2: It’s a Boy, My Plaything: Monica Sweetheart, My Plaything: Sylvia Saint, My Plaything: Miko Lee, Innocence, Naked Eye, Sweetwater, Love Machine, and Hearts and Minds. The photo gallery contains roughly forty great looking snapshots and full screen photos. There’s also DVD credits and a behind the scenes featurette. Sadly, this is a pretty weak extras package compared to many of the other My Plaything releases.

The behind the scenes featurette lasts about seven and a half minutes. After a nicely artistic start complete with classical music and a bit of black and white footage, it moves to showing things as they’re shot. You get to see Sabrine having a little trouble with her lines as well as shooting her scenes throughout the release. It finishes things up with much the same style as it opened with, only this time it’s set to hard rock. It’s a pretty good featurette, but there is a bit of camera shake that interferes with much of it.

The Bottom Line:

Currently, many of Digital Sin’s My Plaything DVDs can be found online for between about $20 and $30, with most stores seeming to offer them in the $25 range. Unless you’re a major Sabrine Maui fan, rent this one first. The sex is pretty well done and the technical aspects are very nice, but there’s barely anything for extras. This overall package seems a bit shy compared to the My Plaything releases of past.

Note to Digital Sin: A few more extras would have made this a much better overall release.
