Initial Expectations: Mr. Pete has went from a guy I really didn’t care to watch to a guy that’s become high on my list of male performers due to what he seems to be able to bring out of his partners. If he can continue behind the camera as he has in front of it, he should make one hell of a director. With Flower Tucci joining him here I’ve gotta give him a chance!

The Technical Stuff

Audio /Video Quality: The technical aspects are pretty good. The audio is pretty clear and well balanced, but there are a few minor background noises. The video was pretty good. It’s nicely lit for the most part, but there were a few spots that looked slightly blurry and reminded me of when I wore contacts and the lens shifted around a little on my eye.

Music: There’s a little music at the start of each scene. It’s loud and fairly typical, but it works for the movie.

Disc Complaints: Looking at them across the last several years, Digital Sin has been one of the most inconsistent companies out there for overall quality. They went from showing nice potential to completely nosediving for over a year by including almost the exact same extras on every DVD. Lately they’ve been showing some great improvement (outside of their boxcovers which have lately been showing sex acts which didn’t appear in the movie). Here it looks like they might be turning backwards again as there’s not a full time stamp for the movie. The time stamp lets you jump to any instant in the movie with your remote, which I think that many people with a certain fetish look for. As I understand it, the time stamp takes virtually nothing for either cost or effort, so I can only think that Digital Sin is cutting corners going with cheaper companies between the lack of a time stamp and their boxcovers.

Menus: The menus are pretty good. The main menu nicely blends a bit of the movie with some nice stills. The chapter menu lets you choose a scene based on a small clip of each scene and the name of the performers in each scene.

The Feature

Flower, Faith, and Sunny rose to the top here for me, but Janet and Victoria also did nice jobs. My main problem with the movie is one that I can see a lot of people not minding. For me, the camera work was slightly off of what I like. It seemed a bit more oriented on the penetration than the “big picture”, and it had a lot of motion. Motion is a funny thing with a camera, as some people make you feel like you’re wandering around the action while others make you feel like you’re being led. Much of the time Mr. Pete left me feeling like I was being pulled around the action on a leash, which I didn’t care for. It also had some rough editing that jumped the action from one position or sex act to the next. By itself I can often live with this, but combined with feeling like I was being pulled through the action there were a few times where I found myself easily distracted. Mr. Pete is Unleashed 5 has some good spirit and nice potential, but I had a few minor problems with the style of the movie.

Although this one had a few problems for me due to the style of the camera work, I can see it working for a lot of people. There’s some nice energy and chemistry to the sex, and the technical aspects are pretty good. There’s some nice effort put into the extras that makes the overall DVD a nice package. This one’s probably worth the money for most people, even though I had a few problems with the style.

Note to Digital Sin: You did a nice job with the overall DVD. Now if you’d only include a full time stamp...
