Motel Blue Review

The second DVD I bought, and the first one from big name Vivid. Right off, you notice the difference between this DVD and one from a smaller company like VXI - tons and tons of extra features. Even the quality on the DVD is higher, a direct result of Vivid's production values. Multiple angles show off the advancement of the DVD technology, as you can switch to different views of the action.

We'll start with the good points - the women look great in this video, especially Kobe Tai, the star of the flick, and the beautiful Deva, especially when they engage in the final and hottest scene of the video. The dancing between Deva and Jacklyn Lick is also tremendous, and even better, this scene features multiple angles. Ever wanted to see a lapdance from a different angle? Go right ahead. It's fun!

Now the bad part. The rest of the scenes are..well, not nearly as good. They consist mainly of Kobe peeping in on couples twice, being caught once and dragged into the middle of a threesome. Lexi Leigh and Timber, the ladies in the other scenes, only make for some piddling action, definitely not worthwhile.

Remember the multiple angles on the Deva-Jacklyn scene? Enjoy them, because that's the only scene using it. Hardly fair, considering one of the DVD's main selling points were the multiple angles - although to be fair, that scene was really the only scene deserving of them.

I understand that nobody buys a porno for a plot, but if there is one, it should link the action together and not get in the way, like The Hooker did - the plot there was only a tool to link the scenes and make it seem somewhat coherent. There was a reason for everything. In Motel Blue, the plot (the second couple have stolen some money and jewels, and Deva murdered said guy for the dough) comes out of left field, and gets in the way more than anything. Bad, bad, bad.

In the end, the DVD's good, but not great. And if I'm spending this kind of money on a DVD, great's all that's good enough. :)
