Audio /Video Quality: The audio sounds pretty good. It has a few minor balance problems at times, which aren’t too noticeable, a little dubbing which is fairly easily noticed, and echoes a little at times due to some of the locations. The video looks very good for the most part. There’s some extremely minor grain and a little soft focus adjustments, but that’s about it for the major portion of the movie. There’s a little pixelation and some colors that are off a little due to some of the lighting in one scene, but it doesn’t interfere with the feature that much.

Music: The music has a very classical feel to it and is balanced pretty well with the rest of the audio. It’s a little overpowering at times, but normally not too bad.

Menus: The menus are pretty simple but well done, There’s a bit of animation on the menus and the chapter menu shows chapters by the chapter number rather than who’s in the scene.

The Feature: Meridian Makes a Movie starts out appearing very original. It combines an adult film with a period piece on the glory of the Czech Republic back in the 1850s. Meridian plays the Hapsburg princess who is about to marry an Austrian prince to try and save their kingdom as well as directing the movie. Throughout the movie it combines the scenes from the movie with what’s going on behind the scenes and around the set.

Robert Rosenberg starts things out getting an outdoor blowjob from a cute brunette. They move inside where she sucks his shaft a little more before he bends her over, hikes up her dress, and starts pounding away on her pussy from behind. Since it’s a European style adult film, he doesn’t work her pussy over for too long before moving up to her ass. Meridian Makes a Movie does a good job of crossing two successful types of adult movies, the period piece and the behind the scenes piece. It might be a little confusing for some people who try to pay attention to the plot, but it’s not much more complicated that some mainstream movies. It ends up being a lot of fun with Meridian doing a great job both in front of the camera, behind the camera, and behind the camera in front of the camera. The key to its success might be mostly because it doesn’t take itself too seriously. It combines the lavish sets of period piece porn with the fun of behind the scenes porn to make a fun period piece that takes a break now and then to just have some fun. If this is how Meridian makes movies, I hope she makes many more!

Extras: Trailers are included for Heartache, Satyr, Vengeance and Working Girl. The only audio bio included is for Meridian. As Wicked has been doing lately, two photo galleries are included. The movie gallery lasts almost three and a half minutes with five seconds per photo. The photos all look great and have the image of a camera viewfinder lightly superposed on the picture. It adds a nice touch without completely overtaking the picture. The behind the scenes gallery lasts almost four minutes and looks just as good, also having the viewfinder image on each photo. Many of Wicked’s other standard extras are here also, such as the Wicked Web, company profile, Promotional materials, the Wicked Casino, and a listing of Wicked’s AVN and DVD award winners and nominations.

There’s also a six and a half minute featurette on Meridian’s Body Molding Shoot, similar to the featurette on Alexa’s body molding shoot. There’s a short interview with Meridian before and after she gets molded, and the rest of the featurette is mostly made up of sped up clips of the materials being applied and removed. It’s a little amusing to watch some of Meridian’s reactions, but I’m glad the featurette didn’t last any longer than it did.

Overall: Currently, Meridian Makes a Movie can be found online for between $25 and $30 with a pretty even spread between stores. Although there’s a few things I didn’t care for and it isn’t the best written adult film I’ve seen in a while, it is fun and has some hot sex. The transfer is also a little above average as are the extras.

Note to Wicked: Please list the chapters by the star in it. It’s always a nice touch, but it’s especially nice here when most of the stars aren’t that well known.
