Isn’t one part of the opera Carmen titled “The Last Dance of the Matador?” This final entry in the Matador line is, appropriately enough, shot in Spain, the land where matadors originated. Jean Yves LeCastel’s Private movies have become quite classy, even as the quality of his Ana/Diabolic lines have declined. The movie opens with scenic shots of Barcelona, which perhaps not coincidentally is also the location of Private’s international headquarters.

Cutthroat businessman Steve Holmes is seen in his office, negotiating over the telephone. The camera pans out to reveal fan favorite Rita Faltoyano on her knees blowing him (I’ve read that David Crosby used to conduct interviews this way, trying to impress reporters). Mandy Bright (labelled “Mandy” and “Monika” depending on which section of the DVD you’re at) sits nearby, fingering herself. VHS cases for Matador 11 & 12 lie on a shelf behind Holmes, and it seems his character is a distributor for Private. With the success of LeCastel’s movies, Private is demanding too much money for distribution rights. Holmes needs him to track down the rumored original “cuc mal” tapes, which feature uncopyrighted gaping assholes (“cuc mal” is shorthand in LeCastel’s movies for showing off a gape, similar to the term “beam” his performers also use).

Perry heads downtown, and has a look around Sandy’s antique shop. This is a rare solo flight for the 1 by Day model, who usually works with her partner in crime Stacy Silver. Sandy (the report uses her modelling name of “Petra”) does speak English, but still finds the language quite a challenge. After Perry complains that her shop is full of junk, it is a mixture of accident and design that her dialog is very amusing as she explains that there ARE some things of value in her store, and lifts her skirt to prove it. Matador 15 is pretty much identical to last few Matadors that preceded it. The follow-up, Bacchanal, begins the Private Extreme series, which is different in name only. What sets Matador 15 slightly apart from the surrounding movies is that Private put a bit more effort into it, since it was the last in the Matador line. So while most LeCastel movies are edited down to 90 minutes, Matador 15 runs about 120. The DVD includes one of the best reports Private has ever produced, with extensive behind the scenes moments and short interviews with LeCastel and all of the women. Rita even shows off a bit of her newly learned English. The DVD also has a decent photo album of action shots (which often caught the performers with odd facial expressions), the movie’s trailer and trailers for five other Private releases, female cast notes (rather inaccurate), production notes, and multiple language and subtitle options.

Matador 15 is maybe the most polished movie LeCastel has ever made. The picture quality is almost perfect, and the camera angles are usually well chosen. Everyone puts out good effort and energy, the women are pretty, and the mood is light and fun. I recommend it to everyone except those who don’t care for much anal in their porn. And I think it is a perfect choice for guys who want to introduce their gal to movies a bit more intense than what Playboy TV shows.
