REVIEW:
This is the much hyped, much talked about Lovers Lane--the very latest in Devinn Lane's contribution to the Wicked catalog.  Brad Armstrong directed it, Brad and Stormy wrote it, but you know good and well there was a fair amount of Devinn-influence in its development as well.   It is touted as an erotic thriller, which I have to say, is quite the challenging tag line to live up to in the world of porn.  I tend to favor erotic comedies, only because, well, it's more acceptable to laugh at comedies than thrillers, but let me not judge too quickly here.  One thing I can say about this movie, as opposed to say, the last movie I reviewed of Brad Armstrong's, The Closer, this one has a cast that I'm much more interested in.  Ava Vincent, Jennifer Luv, Makayla Coxxx, Jessica Drake--now you're talkin'!  As for Devinn--well to be honest, this will be my first exposure to her.

Scene 1 - Nadia Styles & Eric Masterson

A convertible motors into a hazy, moonlit forest.  I may be grasping at straws here, but I'm kinda thinkin' this must be the famous Lovers Lane of box cover fame.  Tiffany (Nadia Styles) and Jeremy (Eric Masterson) are two crazy kids who are all over each other when they stop the car for a quick night time fuck.  Nadia is quite pretty--particularly in the body department, with not too large breasts and a pretty pussy that I'd be happy to call a temporary home if given the chance.  Eric sucks her pussy for a while, and she does the same for his cock complete with a fair amount of drool.  They perform quite the acrobatic car-fuck with a little reverse cowgirl, and doggy before Eric jerks a fairly invisibly load into Nadia's mouth.

Later, at the scene of the crime, the local sheriff, Sarah (Devinn Lane) starts her investigation.  She gets a couple of bits and pieces, but after she gets back to the station an old flame, Andy (Evan Stone) throws her for a loop when he asks to spend some time with her.  They decide to get together for dinner sometime.  We soon learn that Sarah's sister was murdered a while back, and that's why she became a sheriff.  Her boss is thinking of taking her off the case because it might be too hard on her, but Sarah resents the suggestion and continues her work by visiting the college where the kids went to school.  She learns that a local troublemaker named Ricky Fullerton was known to have a tumultuous relationship with Tiffany (Nadia) and to have threatened Jeremy (Eric).  She pays him a visit and then arrests him.

But just when you thought it was safe to go fuck in the woods...

Scene 2 - Jessica Drake & Chris Cannon

Somewhere in a van, another amorous pair of lovers gets it on.  Jessica looks great as usual, although the lighting for the scene is a bit too far on the dark side for my tastes.  On the other hand, there's some pretty spectacular backlighting that really makes things (and when I say "things", I mean Jessica) look pretty damn yummy.  She sucks good cock, and as Jessica would say, Chris eats good box.  They progress through some fantastic looking reverse cowgirl, with great close ups of Jessica's gorgeous pussy squeezing against Chris's rutting cock for dear life, and then a similarly beautiful doggy.  And God love her, Jessica points her toes like a good girl.  Damn--what a babe.  :)  ANNNY-way, the scene ends with a quick pop into Jessica's mouth.  This was a pretty darn good scene, I must say--although most of its merits had to do with looks rather than feeling.

Ryan (Chris) leaves the van to take a piss, but not surprisingly, he doesn't survive the experience.  The killer has struck again, and Katie (Jessica) gets a good look at the murder weapon (a bloody hook where the killer's hand is supposed to be) before running in terror and flagging down a car on a nearby road.  The next morning, she describes the incident to Sarah (Devinn), but they are interrupted by the feds--agent Roberts (Randy Spears) and agent Davis (uncredited)--who are there to take over the investigation.

Blah blah blah. Egos.  Whining.  Etc.  "I can't believe you're letting the feds come in and take my investigation away from me." Yadda yadda. We've all heard it before.  So it's no big surprise when Sarah (Devinn) decides to ignore her superior's orders and take matters into her own hands.  She goes down to Lovers Lane on a steak out, and lo and behold, there is another pair of kooky kids copulating in a car.

Scene 3 - Kimberly Kane & Kris Slater

Kimberly is a great lookin' blonde, and she gives Kris a yummy lookin', if brief, blowjob.  There's not much more to say about it than that.  Most of the cum misses Kimberly's face.  What a shame.

The next day, the two of them set up surveillance at the funeral of the victims.  They do some bonding, and Sarah does some flashbacking to the night her sister was killed.

Later, three kids find themselves an abandon train car, and doesn't that just sound like the perfect place to have sex?

Scene 4 - Jennifer Luv, Makayla Coxxx & Talon

Both girls look fuckin' great here--but then again, I love both these girls.  This is a much more energetic and interesting scene than any of the others so far, and actually starts to give the impression that these people are having sex--rather than just going through some motions for the camera.  The dark lighting is similar in character to Jessica's scene earlier.  After some pretty darn good action with a lot of nice eye candy and energetic pussy fucking, the two girls share an average facial, and the kids are busted by an older man with a prosthetic hook-hand--but he's clearly not our beloved killer.

Four old friends discuss old times in a restaurant, in anticipation of their ten year class reunion.  Agent Roberts is there too, although separated from the rest of them.  Sarah comes in and they have a little tiff about her not telling him about the man with the hook.  She reminds him of their date for the reunion that night.

Sarah shows up looking all breast-y and hot--definitely a huge improvement from her Sheriff's uniform--and they have some poorly acted awkward moments.  Seeing as how this is a porn movie, it's no big surprise when they have a quick, random fuck before they take off for the reunion.

Scene 5 - Devinn Lane & Randy Spears

Ok, I've heard tell that Devinn is quite the yummy firecracker, and I have to admit, up to this point, I've been wondering why so many people make this claim.  She's not what I would call my type--being a little too soft and cuddly for my tastes (in porn that is.  In real life, sexy, soft and cuddly is my ultimate fantasy).  On the other hand, she does take a pretty aggressive stance with Randy here, and she gives a damn fine lookin' extenisve blowjob to boot.  She actually looks quite sexy here, and when she mounts him for some high energy cowgirl things only get better.  I have to admit, Devinn's expressiveness alone makes for some damn interesting looking sex, and she's definitely got a sexy quality about her that I can't deny.  They transition into some doggy, spoon, and reverse cowgirl, and by the time the scene's over (signaled by a pretty nice facial climax) my interest in seeing more of Devinn's work has definitely risen beyond mere curiosity.  I doubt this was her best effort, but damn, there's something about her.  I can't deny it.

Sarah (Devinn) and Agent Roberts (Randy) go to the reunion, where Andy (Evan Stone) pleads his case to talk to Sarah with no real luck.  Meanwhile Maria (Exotica) and Randy (Brad Armstrong) start to talking, and even though Randy was not so nice to Maria back in school, she's decided she's got to make a personal fuck-quotta for the party and he's going to be the beneficiary of a grudge fuck.

Scene 6 - Exotica & Brad Armstrong

Exotica really isn't for me.  Her breasts are too big, and too fake, and she just has too much of that hardened American stripper look for me to get much excitement out of watching her.  There's some extensive pussy licking, where Exotica attempts to put on an air of being in charge.  She sucks him off, and they fuck in the normal variety of positions, including a pretty nice looking doggy and some pussy to mouth stuff (with condom on, of course).  Brad finally deposits a tiny amount of cum on Exotica's cheek and well... there it is.  It's really not much of grudge fuck at all--which is too bad, cuz a nicely done grudge fuck can be a joy to watch.  Alas.

Scene 7 - Ava Vincent & Evan Stone

Mmm.  ::drool:: Ava Vincent.  For some people it's Devinn Lane.  For me, it's Ava Vincent.  I'm a long time fan of hers, mostly because she's got all the sexual expressiveness that Devinn has, but with a body that is much more to my liking.  Evan finger bangs Ava for a while and then she aggressively sucks on his cock while she sits on all fours on the massage table.  Then it starts to get good.  The two engage in some great anticipatory dirty talk, and Ava lays down on her back while Evan is able to pump her mouth as her head hangs off the table.  Some nice doggy and missionary follow, and the scene ends way too early.  Evan comes on Ava's tummy, and this has much more the tone of a "grudge fuck" than the last scene had, and well... a hell of a lot more chemistry to boot--and this wasn't even supposed to be a grudge fuck.  No complaints from me--Ava looks FUCKIN' great as always, and this was easily the best scene on the disc.

Back at the reunion, Sarah convinces Agent Roberts to dance with her--just to blend in to the party atmosphere, of course.  Outside, Andy and Allison are reveling in their after-fuck happiness when hook guy shows up and kills Andy, then tries to kill Allison.  Luckily Sarah and Agent Roberts show up in time, but then all hell breaks loose--well as much hell as CAN break loose in this kind of movie.

Anyway, suffice it to say lots of people turn up dead, and it all ends with an Agatha Christie-esque, nicely tied "let me explain everything to you before I kill you" bow that takes no small amount of time to play out.  It's a story of childhood taunting, of young people wronged, and of gruesome payback.  Muhohohahahahaha.

You know--all that really matters to me is that my beautiful Ava lives to fuck another day, and at the risk of spoiling it all for you, let me assure you, she does.  :-D

All Access - The Making of Lovers Lane:  26 Mins.  As always there's some fun stuff here--and the fun stuff behind the scenes is even more of a guarantee when Evan Stone is in the cast.  There's some good impromptu interview footage with most of the major players here.  Devinn looks great (yeah, she's really growing on me), Ava looks fuckin' great, and their personalities are able to come through a bit.  All good stuff.

OVERALL:
Welp, I just don't know what to say about this one.  Erotic thrillers in the world of porn are, to put it mildly, tricky business.  Aside from say, The Fashionistas which is really in a class by itself, and a few old films of the 70s, I have yet to find a really decent modern attempt at the genre.  As far as thrilling goes, this one really isn't.   The acting is ok for porn, and those who really want to see some equal time of story with sex will probably not be too disappointed here.  The sex is great lookin' but, with the exceptions of Devinn's and Ava's scenes, really not much more than that.  Ava's scene was certainly my favorite, and Devinn's came in a close second.  Unfortunately, apart from that scene, Devinn is dressed in her drab sheriff's uniform for the balance of the movie, and well, for me that's just not sexy.  Uniform fetishists may feel differently--but I kinda doubt it.

All in all, the best thing I can say about Lovers Lane is that it's made me want to see more of Devinn Lane.  I have a feeling this isn't her best representation.  There's a pretty good bonus scene with her and Nick Manning from Tuff Chick--although it seemed really cut up and shortened.  Aside from that there's some great eye candy during some of the scenes (Jessica's comes to mind along with Jennifer and Makayla's), but I guess when it comes down to it, there just wasn't enough here to hold my interest for any length of time.  Ah well--it's competently done, as always, and that's about all I have to say about that.
