Children's book author Paulina (the lovely Natasha Nice) crosses paths with horror novelist Wes Mueller (Richie) who may or may not be a crazed lunatic in director Eddie Powell's LOVE IS A DANGEROUS GAME (2011) that's part of New Sensations' Romance line of DVDs.

Written by Jacky St. James, this wide screen presentation is one of the better recent couples features but an extraneous sex scene that does little to move along Paulina's plight detracts from this otherwise solid little production. About 90 minutes. Condoms used but well-disguised in many instances.

Before the credits roll, a young couple are running through passageways and the duo end up in a locked office area of file cabinets to discuss what is to be their last day on earth. "Nobody is coming to save us" so let's fuck is the premise here. (Tiny tittied Alyssa Branch and Xander Corvus play the couple fucking among the file cabinets in a solid scene with upright fucking bookending terrific cowgirl action as Alyssa stretches out her hands to the cabinets to ride Xander lying on the floor. Points off for not editing the obvious condom shots from this last-fuck-ever encounter---!!!)

Turns out Paulina is reading pages from a book by horror novelist Wes Mueller (Richie) that inspires her to visit her publisher, Donald (Jack Lawrence) where she pleads with him to let her write a horror novel instead of children's books. Over dinner, she discusses this idea with her uptight sister Sara (Kimberly Kane) and hubby (Rocco Reed) then calls Wes seen playing with a chainsaw and later with a machete.

At dinner, Sara informs Paulina that Wes had been recently institutionalized, which scares Paulina when she goes to bed that night. Meanwhile, a bit of role playing leads to Sara and her hubby fucking in their bedroom. (A solid encounter with Kimberly Kane and Rocco Reed that alternates between shadowy reaction shots of Kimberly and better-lit wider shots that highlight her lanky pearly white frame. Cumshot lands on her hairy pussy. Kimberly's bedroom banter scores extra points---!!! 1/2)

A young wannabe writer named Bonnie (cute Kelly Klass) barges in on the publisher after he gives Paulina a gift from Wes. Paulina leaves them so that Bonnie can seduce him. (Another solid suck and fuck scene ensues but this scene belongs in the extras with maybe a blowjob left in the final DVD being the best way to go. A blowjob leads to mish positions on the office desk that bookend fine cowgirl and upright fucking positions in and around the chair. Cumshot lands on her tummy above bare pussy lips---!!!)

Sara continues to scare Paulina with talk of Wes being a psychopath but when Wes unexpectedly visits Paulina, the duo plot a bit of payback at Sara and hubby during dinner that evening. The duo land in a darkened bedroom for the concluding sex scene. (Natasha and her natural boobs are the real star of this wonderfully shot night time scene with enough shadow and menace that the watcher wonders if there's a twist ending coming during this sexual counter. Natasha wraps a condom around Richie's prick with her mouth and the fucking begins. Well-staged and wonderfully photographed but more careful editing could have easily rid this scene of the condom in all shots. Natasha's mouth trick with the condom would have made a nice extra---!!!!)

DVD extras include a PICK YOUR PLEASURE function: tease, bj, missionary, doggy cowgirl, popshot. The OUTTAKES are lame; the 5 minute PHOTO GALLERY is fine; the New Sensations' Romance trailers are the best extra and clock in at 26 minutes.

So, LOVE IS A DANGEROUS GAME (2011, New Sensations) is a one of the better DVDs for couples that I've reviewed in recent months. Let's hope Natasha Nice and Kimberly Kane hang around long enough for the writing of these romance DVDs to improve. Their characters deserved more focus instead of less.

That third sex scene should have landed in the extras as a bonus scene in favor of Paulina pleasuring herself while reading a Wes Mueller horror novel or something visual along that line instead of waiting for similar details to be revealed in conversation when Paulina and Wes finally do meet. Also, better editing could have almost totally eliminated condom use from view.

So, a good but not quite dangerous enough game gets LOVE IS A DANGEROUS GAME (2011, New Sensations) a final rating of !!! 1/2 outta !!!!!
