Loaded (Digital Playground) Review

This is the first Digital Playground disc I bought, mainly because I was impressed with the preview. So did it live up to what I was expecting?

The Movie: The first two Digital Playground movies I've reviewed (this and Stripped) have been tricky. I personaly enjoyed the movies, but I have to remember that this is porn, and as a porno this movie really doesn't cut it.

Now that doesn't mean this is a bad movie! Actually, I really enjoyed this one a lot, as I said earlier, but the sex is really overpowered by the plot, and really feels like it wasn't the main point of the film. The problem is that this is porn, and the sex should be the most important part. So with that in mind, I'll continue this review.

So, we have our first sex scene between Chyane and some girl in the back of his van. The scene is okay, and the girl is very pretty (actually, this is one of the better looking female casts I've seen in an adult film lately). The scene is really short. I mean, it's so quick that I can't imagine the average guy being able to get off on it.

The next scene is between the villian and one of his masseuses. Again, a very short scene, with very little heat. It also doesn't help that the guy playing the villian is far from attractive, although the girl will please most guys. It is also nice to see a girl with natural breasts in a feature.

We then move on to the only scene that I enjoyed in the entire movie. This is a scene between Lee Stone and Jesse Jane. This is, again, a short scene, but I didn't care. It was extremely erotic, very hot, and both people in it were really sexy. This is the standout in the movie for me.

After that we have a scene between Eric Masterson and Jesse Jane. This one was pretty good, and the two seemed to enjoy themselves, but it, like every scene before it, was way to short.

The final scene is between Barett Blade and Asia Carrera. Wow... I hardly even remember this scene. It was that bland. This shocked me, because usually Asia turns in great stuff, and I've seen both her and Barett do a great scene together in Misty Beethoven the Musical, but this time... BLAH!

So, the final sex scene is done, and there is still a good twenty minutes (not counting credits) left in the movie.

The plot and action are the best part of this, especially the scenes with Eric and Barett. The two guys just play off each other SO well. Jesse Jane does a great job in her role, and everything feels very proffesional. Plus, all of the shoot outs, and action sequances turn out amazing!

Tech Stuff: The picture and sound are flawless.

Extras: You get a nice group of extras with a behind the scenes, a blooper reel, trailers, bios, and the usual. You also get an extra sex scene with Jesse Jane. Not overly packed, but nice.

OverAll: As a porno, this one fails. It seems to scared to just let the sex scenes go. As a couples movie, and as an action film, this one is really good. They really should have just cut out the hardcore stuff and put this on late night cable, because it probably would have turned out better. As it is, it's a nice movie for people just getting in to porn, but anyone who is more jaded, or is looking for a real whack movie should avoid this one. Recommended for those who want something very mainstream.
